The menu said $ 6.00, you charged me $ 8.00. If I hadn’t pointed it out, you would not have changed it.

Great food. Restaurant is larger inside than it looks outside so that was a nice surprise. Normal Coney Island-type food choices. The portion sizes are gigantic and the prices are fantastic. My friend and I each had a meal and a side AND coffee for under $ 20! The service was very quick and friendly. I will definitely go back and try different options.

Col’s place offers a friendly atmosphere, great service, excellent food and a good price. Compared with other restaurants you get more food for your money. It’s all around a good deal. I go there all the time, they serve the best country skillet I’ve ever had anywhere. All around, I can’t think of a single bad thing to say about them at all. Hope this was helpful. Cheers.

My son and I have been going every Saturday because it so close to our home. The food is what you would expect and the prices are very reasonable. The reason they get 5 stars is the waitstaff. They are so nice to us and very attentive during our entire meal. We are always greeted with a smile and feel at home. We watch out order being made right in front of us and they have real Mickey pancakes, which my son can’t get enough of. Even the cook asks us how everything is. Sometimes service is even more important than the actual food(which is good). Thanks Col’s for being so kind to us– see ya next weekend!

I got takeout breakfast from this place last Friday. My food was ready quickly and the price was agreeable. The place seemed clean, but it smelled like it wasn’t clean. Overall my experience with the food did not meet expectations. Hashbrowns were more like mash potatoes and the meat had the taste of a dirty grill. While this wasn’t a terrible experience, I’m not planning on eating from here again, despite the convenient location.

Very nice staff. My waitress was attentive. Great Greek omelet. Lots of gyro. I ordered it with a side of Greek sauce. Yummy. The hashbrowns were good, but will order them crisp next time. Very reasonable price. Plan to try the coneys next time.

Great breakfast joint. Never tried their food for anything other than breakfast but so far everything was delicious. Classic diner food but with a very reasonable price tag. The staff is always very attentive and the coffee here is great. I would strongly suggest stopping by if your in the area

Col’s Place is a great restaurant at the corner of Middlebelt & Grand River Ave. It is family owned and operated by some of the friendliest people you’ll meet. I love that the place is always clean. No matter what you order, it will be fresh and delicious. They have a big menu, and are always willing to customize your meal the way you like it. I have been eating here off and on for over six years and will keep coming back. There is plenty of parking. They offer free wireless internet. I highly recommend Col’s Place.

What do you expect from a neighborhood diner? I love that while I know the staff. Not their name, I should make a point to learn their names next time I go in… It’s a cheap place to eat, with quick food and even quicker service. It’s clean and well kept. There’s free wireless. Ask for the password and you’ll have it for life in your phone or electronic device you take with you. And the password is so easy to remember. I usually have the mexican skillet, which is awesome, with a side of toast. But everything else I’ve tasted has been equally good. It’s not amazing… just good ‘olé Amerrrican diner cooking. Tuesday’s their Coney Dog day! Bring in 125 pennies and change and you’re good to go! For the neighborhood, price, service, taste… they’re sublime.

Great food, nice interior, decent service. Their breakfast skillets can’t be beat. My husband and I go here at least once a month, sometimes once a week.

I go to Col’s every so often on weekends as it’s close to home and they make some awesome skillets! I like the Mexican which has a bed of hash browns along with chili, cheese, onions, peppers and an egg on top. Excellent! Col’s was temporarily closed in May 2010 for a complete interior gut and renovation. I can tell you it looks fantastic in there! Very clean and pretty nice for a Coney Island! Plus the timing could not have been better… they were closed when the Michigan smoking ban went into effect. Now the place smells brand new and will stay that way(except for the sweet smells of a Coney joint, and no smoke!). It’s a solid 3-star if not a bit more. I wish they had wi-fi here, that would be worth another star to me.
