Despite the multiple bad reviews we went anyway since we had a gift card. I was impressed with the food quality and atmosphere. The smoked shrimp and steak was excellent along with the spinach dip. Teddy, our server, was excellent and had apps, main course and beer delivered quickly and was very personable also. I’ll be going back. Excellent experience overall.

Been a while since I went to a TLC, but we were near it so we tried it. My husband got a stuffed pablamo and was pleased with it, but he said the rice was dry and didn’t eat it. I had Crab Cakes and I would not recommend them. Very bready. Tasted more like a hush puppy with a little crab scent. The ladies restroom had no paper at all in the stall and looking around it didn’t look like it had been attended to in a while. Not a very good experience. I guess that’s why I haven’t eaten at one in a long time.

The reason I’m giving this place 3 stars is for the lack of consistency, frequent over turning of staff, and the few times I have had staff be completely rude. I have been a server, I know how customers can be, and I know we all have bad days. However after working hands on in the server industry I am always respectful, understanding, and tip at least 15% even for mediocre to poor service, and tip up from that for good to great service. The most I can say about this place is that there is really no gray area to it. When it’s good it’s great and when it’s bad it’s really bad. Really up to you if you want to spend a decent amount of money on a potentially bad meal.

Of all of the restaurants I have been to in my life, this, by far, was the most frustrating. We were with a group of about 60, but we made reservations well in advance. With that caveat out of the way, here goes the review. We basically had the whole left side of the restaurant. Our reservation was for 6:30 and some of our group showed up early. I arrived about 6:35. Our table of 7 ordered a round of drinks. 3 came back incorrect, 2 were correct, and one didn’t arrive. My buddy who didn’t get his drink was told by the server, after about 30 more minutes, that they were out of that beer. He ordered a different one. What arrived another 30 minutes later was the original beer he ordered, the one they were out of. To make an extremely long story short, we got our first drink after 1 hour, our second drink 45 minutes later, and our dinner more than 2 hours after being seated. Others in our party had their dessert and left bore we got served our salads. Which leads me to believe that our server had no idea what he was doing. Eventually, a manager from another store showed up and apologized and righted the ship. Why didn’t the in-store manager, who was also the only bartender, apologize to us? I guarantee our group will never go back, and by association, I will never return either.

For 140 dollars you would expect a decent meal. We received far from that and the service was subpar as well. My margarita was un drinkable and when I asked for another one it took 15 minutes to get it. My sides were ice cold while my steak was hot. This is my second time to this location both with subpar visits.

Family wanted to go here for a birthday, there was a group of 9 of us. I was a bit wary of the pretty low rating on Unilocal, but I kept an open mind. First off, the place is extra nice, stone and nice tables, good lighting, place is very fancy looking. Servers and staff are very friendly and nice. So the food, I got a new york strip with loaded baked potato and caesar salad. Salad was great with a little spice to it, potato was good too. But my steak was overcooked. I ordered medium, it came very, very well done. I sent it back. Then they earned their 5 stars: the waiter took it right back and said they’d fire a new steak right away, the manager came over to apologize and took it off of my bill. My new steak came back(with another baked potato too!) perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. Everything else would have been fine, nothing really exceptional about this place food wise, normally a 4-star rating for me. Overcooked steak would have pushed it to 3, poor response would have been 2. But the service & great effort from the staff really pushed it over the edge here, they tried hard and really did well to keep their customer satisfied.

Well I knew what I was getting into when I saw the 3 star, but what the heck I was hungry. So here is my cut 1 star poor beer selection, one lousy IPA 5 star the bartender 3 star OK salad 1 star mushy broccoli 3 star shrimp(only because they destroyed it by wrapping it in bacon. Yuck 4 star steak, really good just not great. So there you have it a solid 3 star So easy to fix all this, just do it. No need to respond to me, just giving some honest feedback. Over all I enjoyed myself Thank you so much

Tried the Brisket Stuffed Jalapenos which were delish. However, my sirloin steak(a signature item) was extremely tough and the green beans understeamed. The garden salad was pretty standard. The portions were small for the ridiculous price we paid. My husband’s enchiladas were nondescript. We won’t be going back or recommending it.

I’ve been meaning to check this location out. My employer treated my team to lunch, and since I’m remote I got to choose where for my solo lunch. I figured I’d have some fun, take some pictures of me and my steak, and have a great meal. When I walked in I was greeted by a super friendly young man. He quickly seated me and brought me water and bread. I’m thinking so far so good. He then brings a menu and tells me my sever will be here shortly. Grade = A My server(the bartender) walks over a few minutes later and simply states«you ready to order yet?» No hello, no specials, no how are you. Grade = B– My salad is brought out in minutes. Salad was plain but not bad. Grade = B– I am thirsty and want a glass of wine, waitress hasn’t said a word to me in ten minutes and never once asked if I wanted a drink Grade = D– Waitress/Bartender is serving a lady at the bar, she’s talking and smiling… I’m not getting the same. I’m beginning to get mad… Then in the middle of my salad comes my steak… Grade = D I ask the woman that brought my steak can I order a drink, she says I was seated in the bar and the bartender is my server… I just want a glass of wine, I’m not having a great experience. The woman that brought my steak seemed apologetic and brought me a wine list. I said I was looking for a cab, she didn’t really jump into recommendations; to be fair I think she realized I was annoyed. The wine was brought out fast and I tried to get back into my solo steak lunch. I hate eating mad, especially when I’m alone, I’m sure I look like some lonely sad guy eating his last meal crying on his steak. To top it off, all of the solo members typically take a good selfie, I had to take mine mad… I had to fake a smile while posed in front of a steak that I would eat annoyed. After the meal is here, I’ve been approached 4 times asking if everything is OK. At this point it’s back-pedaling. I’m annoyed. The bartender saw I was done with my steak and asked did I want dessert. I didn’t finish my steak, so I ordered a brownie. The bartender waitress came by and asked how the wine was, then made small talk about the Texas Cabernet I ordered. Where was this friendliness when I arrived? Now I’m feeling like a jerk because I’m not in the mood to make small talk. Ultimately, I’ll chalk this up as another 20% tip that wasn’t earned it given. The brownie arrived. It was hot and pretty good. I can say that the bartender is trying to fix things. She also comped the brownie. This review was 2 stars, but I’ll change to 3 stars because they’re made an effort at the end of my solo experience. I’m a new customer and Texas Land and Cattle had a chance to make an impression on me. It’s not even busy. I’m the customer that frequents my favorite spots. It’s pretty sad that my experience was tainted with poor service; especially since I was looking forward to coming here. You only really get one first impression. My experience was so tainted that I wrote this entire review while sitting in Texas Land and Cattle.

It was great. They cooked my steak perfectly well done without making it a hockey puck.

I ordered a peppercorn rib eye and was expecting a great steak. It was cooked medium rare. But it lacked any flavor. I was very disappointed. The jalapeño grits were good.

I do not recommend this restaurant. DH’s hamburger was small, cold and overcooked. My fish tacos were just awful and sides of beans and rice were cold. In fairness, the manager did comp our lunch and brought us dessert. Based on this Unilocal review, the restaurant did reach out to me to discuss and request that we give them another try so I gave the restaurant another star and will update if our next experience is better.

We went here tonight to celebrate our daughter’s 7th birthday. She’s been wanting to come here for months. I told the hostess and the server it was her birthday. Service was slow. Requested tea refill that never came. Pork loin was overcooked. Gluten free order came with croutons on the salad. The birthday girl(7!) ordered a dessert. It took forever to come, and had no candle in it. Not even an offer to comp a kid’s birthday dessert. Poor form. We requested coffee which never came. The bill came, and was wrong, included food we’d never ordered. In short, the food was mediocre, which frankly is what I expected from this chain. But the service was completely sub-par. Even our daughter commented that they must put more time into making the place look nice than into giving good service. Sad that even a 7 year old would notice that. Not worth the time or the money to go to this place. We left disappointed and frustrated.

Sometimes you need a place that is a sure thing, and TL&C is that place. No frills, you know what you are getting. The Monday $ 10-burger and beer is the best bet for those Mondays you just don’t feeling like cooking. I love that I can sit at the bar and order my meal there. They have a full service bar with friendly service. I look forward to my next visit and can’t wait for their house hot bread!

I have been here twice. Once for dinner and again for lunch. I am not a big fan of chain restaurants, so I have not reviewed many. I would say it met my fairly low expectations for food, service and price. There was nothing wrong with anything. However, it is just has no «wow» factor. I thought the salad prices were high for the area. The service was good and the food was not bad, not great, just OK. So, in my opinion, there is no reason not to go to this place if you are OK with a chain restaurant atmosphere. I just like a bit more unique experience when I eat out, so it is not my favorite kind of place.

My huband and I came here before heading over to the iPic movie theater, and we loved this place. Super fancy atmosphere, but without sacrificing good food or portion sizes. This would be a great date night spot. We were with a friend who had been to the Plano location and he told us this place is the nicest location he’d been to. We showed up around 9 pm on a weekday and the place was almost empty. I noticed immediately that they have a really beautiful semi-covered area outside with a fire pit, where you can sit and have drinks or wait for a table. Inside, they also have a beautiful double-sided fireplace with glass rocks in it. Fancy schmancy! Our server was well-versed on the menu and she was able to give us some recommendations. They had some good $ 5 drink specials even though it was far past happy hour. I ordered the brisket sandwich which was really tasty, and tried a bite of my husband’s burger which was even better.

We recently visited on Saturday for an early dinner around 3:30pm. We were seated immediately as the place was very empty. We liked it, but prefer the Frisco location much more. This location, however, is a lot nicer because it’s fairly new. I opted for the smoked sirloin and shrimp plate which is $ 19.99. The shrimp and loaded potato was delicious, but the steak was quite rubbery and I guess I’m not a fan of the smoked flavor. My daughter had the kids burger and enjoyed it very much. The bread is so delicious, but I don’t recommend getting the house salad as a starter because there isn’t much to it. Mine had a sliver of red onion and a couple croutons. Our server Alex was friendly and checked on us quite often, so no complaints there. Will I be back? Maybe. I’ve had a great experience at the Frisco location and the steak was great. so I’ll probably come back, but it’ll have to be at the Frisco location instead.

Hmm. This location of Texas Land and Cattle is the nearest steakhouse to our home but really I would’ve preferred the drive down 75. My family from out of country came to visit and naturally I bought them to a steakhouse for lunch. This place was empty except for three other tables and the environment seemed really dark. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for starters, that was the only thing that came out right that day. My aunt and uncle wanted water without ice and they both got iced water. My steak was supposed to be medium well and it came out super well done. My uncle wanted his meal paired with rice/potato and instead got salad/potato. Service was good, nothing extraordinary. Our waitress was nice and brought out more rice and switched out the water. I didn’t bother about my steak.

Country-fried steak Our friends took us here for dinner one stormy night while we were visiting Dallas. I just couldn’t decide between filet and the country-fried steak so I copied my friend Dale and ordered the country-fried steak. I’ve had it at some restaurants where it was tough to cut and even tougher to eat. Good news! Not here. It was wonderful and tender and fried perfectly. The mashed potatoes and green beans that accompany this dish were seasoned perfectly and very good. I had the tortilla soup instead of salad before the entrée came out. The soup was delicious with little pieces of avocado in it. The service was great. Our server did a great job taking care of all eight of us even when we played musical chairs. We got up and looked outside some to see how much damage the hailstorm was doing to our cars. We were in different seats when we returned to the table and he still knew who ordered what.
