Service was good, quick and attentive. However, we came at lunch and were the ONLY ones here. Food not so much, me and a friend both got the tamarind bbq sandwich and it was plain bad. Not sure what it was, but just a bad taste to it and hardly any meat. Sweet potato fries werent bad, but didnt really like the pairing and they dont have regular fries. Cheese dip was pretty good, just cant get over the terrible sandwiches.

I’ve seen the negatives. Now for some positives. It’s clean. And it’s not run by clueless teenagers. Rare for Allen these days.

I wasn’t going to bother writing a review about this place because other reviewers had said it all before: Slow service, wait staff who don’t speak English, long wait time for food, incorrect order, mediocre food. But today we were reviewing our credit card bill and the waiter, WHOSPILLED A TRAYFULLOFWATERGLASSESONMYHUSBAND decided that he deserved more of a tip that what we left. We normally tip 20% or more, but since this idiot spilled water(and later, part of a margarita) on my husband, and didn’t even apologize, we tipped 15%. The server doubled it. If you have eaten here recently, compare your receipt to your actual credit card charge. If you haven’t eaten here and are considering doing so, I would strongly urge you to spend your time and money elsewhere.

Has gone downhill. My boyfriend and I used to come here for drinks and to share their quesadillas. Our most recent time was our last. Margaritas were watered down and not even frozen all the way through. Very strong and did not taste good. No wonder they have happy hour going on on Saturday night– no business around and for good reason. Will not be returning.

We had never dined at this location before thus a lunch stop today. There were eight customers in the restaurant when we entered at 12:15. Except for the window tables all the remaining tables were empty. Apparently not a lunch location. We decided to stay anyway and were seated at a window booth. Very uncomfortable seats with an odd shaped table that was difficult to eat from. The menu offered some lunch special and after reviewing the regular prices decided it would be the lunch special. I ordered the Tortilla Soup and the other party ordered a lunch fajita salad. The soup had lots of chicken pieces however the cream base made the soup very think and on top of that when I was served the soup was just luke warm. The bowl was large — the soup just so-so. I would not order again. The other party had the lunch fajita salad which covered the entire large plate. The salad was also stacked high on the plate. One could not complain about the quantity, however the quality of the lettuce was another story. A lot of the lettuce was yellow and even the core was in the plate. While the quantity was present, the quality was missing from our lunch deals. The service was quick in taking the order however we waited over 25 minutes for the food to arrive. The restaurant looks great from the outside. Inside there is a bar that consumes almost all of the right side of the entrance and that was out seating area. Prices were high. The salad was $ 10 and the soup was $ 7. Way too much for lunch. We noticed the prices from the regular menu were also high especially for a Mexican food restaurant in this area. After we arrived we only witnessed four additional customers that arrived for lunch. We have noticed this same restaurant on Sundays for lunch and you may have to wait to be seated. Perhaps a better experience next time.

Boo! They do not have their brunch buffet anymore. The service was slow and our meal was supposed to come with fresh fruit. When I inquired where it was, I was told they were out. My quesadilla had Velletta in it, yuck! Not impressed at all.

I’m going to try to make this short. Ordered fajitas(cold and came on a flat plate) had to ask for plates and extra tortillas. It took close to ten minutes to bring tortillas to the table. The waiter couldn’t speak English. When we reviewed the bill they had charged us for tortillas and a beer we didn’t order. We asked the waiter to take those items off and it took the manager coming to our table(with an attitude) to straighten it out. There are so many places to spend your time and money on, don’t waste it at Cyclone Anaya’s!

I took my wife here for dinner because a friend said it was really good. We were seated at a booth with really uncomfortable seats under intense track lighting. I looked at the menu and it looked like a pretty pricey, but decent place. I asked a few questions about the menu and the server recommended Carne Asada We ordered our meal and it was out and on the table really fast, like there was no way they could have entered the order and cooked it that fast. The server told me the Carne asada was good sized and really delicious. It came out and was paper thin and about the size of a large piece of beef jerky. It came with refried beans that were totally out of a can, and uncle ben’s rice. There was a tablespoon’s worth of cheese, and about the same pico de gallo. The food was really below average, WAY over priced, and totally disappointing. We looked at the desserts and they were straight up Denny’s quality I used the restroom and was alarmed at the state of uncleanliness. 1 of the stalls had a sign on it that said it was out of order. The sinks were really dirty, and the faucets were also very grimy. I would avoid this place like the plague unless you enjoy over priced crappy food.

I stopped by here during the weekend with the family for lunch. The place looks interesting from the outside. When we got there it wasn’t busy at all. There were maybe a couple of other tables with customers around noon on a Saturday. Several of the reviews mentioned poor service and staff that stood around talking to each other rather than checking on their customers. While I did see groups of staff hanging out and talking we had pretty good service. Our little boys had a cheese quesadilla and the mini beef sliders with sweet potato fries. They enjoyed it and ate most of it. I had the pollo jalisco which was a large chicken breast grilled and smothered with a really delicious sauce. The chicken had one side that was too done where it was a bit chewy but otherwise the flavors were great. My wife had the carne asada which was a beef skirt steak grilled and also smothered in a really tasty sauce and caramelized veggies. We didn’t have room to try the desserts since we started out with a bowl of queso and chips so I don’t have anything to say about that. We didn’t try any of the drinks either on this visit. While I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again, it was good enough so that if I am back in the neighborhood shopping on a weekend I may stop by for another visit.

So I’m back in Texas. What happened to this place?! They changed the menu. This place no longer stands out. Fish taco & tres leches cake was average at best

This place is great for holding a large party. They have a large room to hold about 20 or so. We had a birthday brunch here which was really nice. I returned a later time for there happy hour which they have amazing top shelf drinks!!! The bar area is super nice because you can choose to be off to yourself or you can sit at their high top bar area!!! Menu is pretty nice! Tons to choose from and a great price. They have a DJ playing outside on the weekend. So it gathers a pretty good crowd! Will be back :-)

When my girlfriend and I entered Cyclone’s for the first time, we were very impressed. The modern design and open view from our table(booths next to the bar) were so much better than the other restaurants in this area. I’m very uncertain as to the legitimacy of these negative reviews, because we felt the service was spot on. We have been twice now, and both waiters /bartenders were pleasant and professional. The crab meat nachos are probably all I will ever order from here, because they are the best thing I have ever tasted in my 24 years of life. We’ve tried a few different margaritas from here and they were all delicious. The liquor is good and strong. Go to Cyclone Anaya’s if you enjoy enjoying life. Yes you are going to drop some money… but hey… Cheddar’s is right across the parking lot if you like watered down cheap drinks and want a bunch of 16 year olds taking your order and cussing in front of you.

My wife and I have tried to enjoy this place on several occasions and are both disappointed after each time. I’m afraid we have given up. The food is subpar, the drinks are strong but the clientele at night is getting more and more sketchy. The music is loud, obnoxious, and has an inner city vibe to it which I assume is why the clientele has become what it is. It’s back to Mi Cocina and Gloria’s for us.

FAVORITEDISH: Enchiladas de Espinaca Two fresh sautéed spinach, mushroom and Mexican white cheese enchiladas topped with chardonnay cream sauce and roasted pine nuts. Served with cilantro rice and refried black beans. My friends love the Jumbo Lump Crab Meat Nachos(split it they’re huge!) and of course the Lobster Enchiladas and Fajitas. Great take on Latin Cuisine — one of the best places for it!

Had date night here. Food: Guac — passable. Not a lot of taste. Quesadillas — pretty good. Tastes kind of like grilled cheese. I like grilled cheese though. Drinks: Great. Wife had a house margarita(strawberry), and she’s quite happy. I opted for the super cyclone. Expensive, but pretty fantastic. Service: Also great. Greeted by nice folks. Our server was really nice and funny. The guy who brought out our quesadillas was also really friendly. Atmosphere: Really good. Clean, very open. Good location. I’d go back.

Well, since my review of the Addison location is no longer helpful(considering that location is now closed), I might as well review the one in Fairview! I ended up here on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner, which was worrying at first. I’m not a fan of dining out on the weekends with the hustle and bustle and waiting. I was relieved, though, to see that Cyclone Anaya’s takes reservations, meaning that when we got their, albeit a little early, we were seated immediately. No waiting in an overcrowded foyer for us! Even though this location has the same interior design features as the Addison location, it didn’t feel as expensive and ritzy. Probably because I had a clear, open view of the kitchen from my seat. But don’t get me wrong, this place has a nice feel to it — definitely leagues above the general faire such as Chili’s or Applebee’s. A similar venue as far as style goes would perhaps be Houlihan’s. Despite serving a crowded restaurant on top of our party of 11, our waiter was on the ball. Drinks were never empty for long, the orders were precise and without flaw. And all was executed without the a single sign of stress or difficulty on the part of the waiter. Now the food! The chips were thin, crisp, and for all I could tell made right there in the restaurant. No annoying chili powder baked into them, no shipped-in-cellophane taste. And the salsa, although not of my normal preferences, was pretty good. It had a good amount of hotness to it, with a smoky aftertaste that I normally wouldn’t like, yet had a good flavor. Normally I would go for the chicken sour cream enchiladas in this scenario, and I did at the Addison location. They were good enough to order again but not the best I’ve ever had. However I was feeling adventurous tonight — so it was the Enchiladas Del Mar for me. This was a dish comprised of shrimp and white Mexican cheese in two red corn tortillas, topped with a white chardonnay sauce, sliced avocados, and pine nuts — all served up with cilantro lime rice and refried black beans. Definitely not my normal fair. Nevertheless it was very, very tasty! Honestly it was the best enchiladas I’ve had that didn’t involve chicken and sour cream sauce. I’m only semi-ashamed to admit that I was the first at my table to finish by a good five minutes. And my plate was clean. The margaritas, whether blended or on the rocks, were delicious and filled with tequila, to everyone’s delight. Overall it was a great experience. And since it was a friend’s birthday, the staff was kind enough to bring out the cake we brought with silverware and plates for us to eat it with. Everyone absolutely loved what they ordered. The service was really good considering how busy the restaurant was. As far as I can tell there is only two cons for Cyclone Anaya’s, a small personal affair and a larger one that will determine my return. First of all, their soft drinks are comprised of Coca-Cola products. A minor thing, but a personal annoyance considering I prefer Dr. Pepper or Pepsi products as a rule. But what really gets me is the price point of Cyclone Anaya’s. The cheapest dinner entrée is $ 12 or so, and a complete meal for two people including drinks comes to about $ 60 including tip. That’s pretty pricey for me, especially when I’ve had Tex-Mex cuisine that was better and much cheaper. But understand paying for all that atmosphere, I suppose, but my stomach and my wallet are apt to go elsewhere for a tasty meal. If you don’t mind the price, I would definitely recommend trying Cyclone Anaya’s. There version of the classics are pretty good, and there are a few unique dishes that are quite tasty as well.

I’m a lover of mexican food, so i was ecstatic to try out Cyclone Anaya’s in Allen. I went on a Sunday and was happy to see that they served brunch of the weekends, it seems like you can’t find brunch in too many places. I ordered a jumpo shrimp salad, it was okay — kinda fishy. Nothing I would call home about. The service was extremely SLOWWWWW. After receiving our check, we waited about 20 minutes for our waiter to come pick it up to give us change. During that 20 minutes, I counted 8 other workers standing around doing nothing. To say the least, it was annoying and I wanted to throw my drink across the restaurant to get some service. My meal was $ 17, which I personally think was a rip off. There are too many places in the area that serve better food for a cheaper price(cough Uncle Julios cough). side note: I would have given them 1 star but they do have a dish called Betsy’s tamales so they got an extra star. Don’t hate.

I went with the family on opening night. The wait staff was eager to please, but slow on service. They did give me a history of the owner and the restaurant, but I sat without a drink for about 15 minutes and empty plates were slow to be cleared away. The food was OK. Nothing special. It is a bit pricey for the quality. They sell it like it is an upscale version of Tex-Mex, but when it arrives, it is just plain food. I had the half order of crab nachos($ 18). It consisted of 8 to 10 chips with beans, cheese and crab meat on them. They were good. My wife had the flautas, and she said they were just OK. 2 chicken flautas covered in green sauce and lettuce.($ 13) My son had the child’s taco al carbon($ 7) and really enjoyed it. It was a tortilla stuffed with grilled steak. It looked very good and he ate it quickly so it must have been tasty. My hope is that because it was opening night, they were a little off. I am not sure what they could do to the food to make it match the price. Perhaps they could make the price match the food. There are just too many great Tex-Mex restaurants to choose from in this area to put this place on a frequent visit rotation.
