Lobster Post

Tried this place with my wife because of a groupon deal. Without the deal, it’s pretty pricey.
The price is average for a lobster roll, but the portion size is very tiny.
We got a tiny hot dog roll with not much lobster. However I have to say it tasted great!
The chowder was ok.
I would go back if we get another Groupon.

Great corn clam chowder and lobster roll. Scott is friendly and helpful. Would totally recommend for a quick lunch. Brings back memories of summers in Maine.

We stopped here on the way to the Bridgeport-​Port Jefferson Ferry. After a 4 hour drive from Maine to Bridgeport we were hungry and so happy to have found this place via Unilocal.
The service is friendly and the food was amazing.
We had the garlic lobster roll and the regular lobster roll. Both orders came with fries. And both were well worth the detour we took.
The restaurant is very simple — it looks like it used to be a fast food Chinese take out place in the past. But don’t let the simple décor keep you away.
We’ve already committed to going back the next time we are in Bridgeport. It will be our first stop off the ferry.

If it has the word lobster in it then I automatically must try it! lol I was in the area on business drove by the sign and knew that’s what I would be having for lunch!
A lil Unilocal birdie told me they had lobster fries!!! They were great. Probably the best thing I’ve eaten this year lol. Service was friendly and quick. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I’m gonna go back once more before my assignment is over. :)

I got the original lobster roll, it was pretty good. The lobster was fresh and tasted good. It was basically lobster in a hot dog bun, with a buttery delicious taste. This roll could be much better if it were on a ciabatta roll or some kind of a heartier bread than a hot dog bun. It came with crispy fries and some coleslaw, both of which were great. It was a decent portion but nothing too big, it left me hungry afterwards but I tend to eat a lot. All in all it was good I would go back

When I saw McDonald’s had lobster rolls I had to do a lobster roll challenge. Unfortunately, my Ipad turned off and I didn’t realize it wasn’t taping after I took the time to try them all. Of the 3 I tried, Lobster Post was the best one. It even blew away McDonald’s vomit on a bun. While I was there I couldn’t help myself from trying to lobster cheese fries. Oh Glorious CT style poutine!!! I am so glad I decided to eat that at the restaurant and didn’t attempt to take it home. It was so wonderful, I wanted to drink the gouda after I polished it off. Great spot for a lobster roll and whatever else you may want.

Stopped by here during my visit to CT. It’s more of a take-​out restaurant rather than a dine-​in place, which was not what I expected. There are exactly 4 tables and a dozen or so stools. The chalk board menu tells you everything you need to know. For about $ 17, you get a 6-​inch lobster roll with a side of fries and coleslaw. I also tried the mac and cheese, which I thought was quite good. Overall I think it’s a nice place with decent food. But would I go out of my way to try it again?.. Probably not.

He is doing it right. Lobster bisque was very good, if your listening offer it in a bread bowl!
The original lobster roll was very well made and I would put it up with some the best I’ve had.
Overall I’d say well done and shall return.

Went here with the gf today and the food was very good. The lobster bisque was on the thinner side but still tasty, although I’ve had better. I also got a spicy calamari wrap which was delicious. I’d go back for it. My gf got the classic lobster roll and enjoyed it very much. I’d say the only real knock is the small serving size of the sandwiches, but the fries were great and crispy and helped fill us up.

The lobster is so fresh and delicious! There’s a variety of lobster rolls but I come here once a week for the BLT. Yup– BACON, lettuce, and tomatoes on a lobster roll. And did I mention BACON?!? It also comes with this slaw that is just yummy!
The lobster bisque. Oh. Em. Gee. Amazing.
There are some other menu option. Theres the lobster mac and cheese and the crab cakes just to name a few.
The food is great but the people and vibe are even better. Love!

Probably one of the best lobster rolls I’ve had in CT.
This is a great summer spot. I love stopping here before the beach or even after.
I learned of this place through a groupon deal and have been hooked every since.

This was a nice treat when hungry in U familiar territory. The regular lobster roll was very solid. The lobster seemed fresh although drowned in butter what isn’t good. The bun was toasted and soft as well. Biggest gripe is the $$ $ 15 for a roll that small is much.

We had a great lunch here over the holidays. I had the fish tacos and they were delicious. Fried fish but very light batter with large slices of avocado and fresh coleslaw. My husband had a BLT lobster roll that was also great and my son had the shrimp wrap. He didn’t offer to share so I assume very good. We started with a bowl of lobster bisque which is huge and could easily be shared. The same goes for the main dishes. Portions are very large here and for lunch it’s a bit pricey, so that’s why I would suggest sharing. Our host was super friendly, food was great and seafood fresh. Know before you go that they only serve soft drinks or water. Only con for me was plastic utensils.

I was driving through the area with a friend on my recent visit to the New England area. I had a craving for some lobster and used Unilocal to search for places as we drove though the area. I happened upon this little gem and the first photo I saw was the lobster cheese fries. I was sold.
It took a little backtracking to find the place but it was so worth it. I had the fries of course as well as a lobster roll which was amazing. I shared photos of my food with friends back in Arizona and everyone was jealous.
Distance makes it impossible for me to be a regular but I will make sure I come back next time I’m in the area.

This place is fairly tasty. My gf and I had the Bisque, Lobster Fries with cheese, and the classic Roll. The Bisque is not very good and should be avoided at all costs. It was just very watery and wasn’t very flavorful. I have had better Bisque from a can… Other than that everything was fairly good. The Lobster roll was slightly smaller than I would like but it hit the spot and the Lobster fries were really good.

AMAZING! Lobsters are cooked perfectly and the buns they use are delicious. I had the mango salsa roll ahhhh to die for! My husband had fish and chips which I had a bite of and they were delicious. We have big appetites so we also order lobster sliders… How were they? Amazing!
All rolls come with fries. We are becoming regulars lol

Well, aren’t we lucky! The Lobser Post’s Connecticut style lobster roll rapidly approaches the Form of the Connecticut Style Lobster Roll. It’s served hot with heaping piles of tasty lobster meat — claws, tails and all — in the perfect vehicle, a top-​seam hot dog bun. A generous addition of butter and a light dusting of parsley pull the whole thing together. Lemon squeeze is optional. Simple, elegant and the peak of deliciousness!
I just have a few relatively minor demerits:
1) My fries were a little too crispy. In less polite terms, they were overcooked.
2) I give the staff serious kudos for their efforts to transform a Fairfield strip mail into something more worthwhile. The décor has an appropriately picnic table vibe, and there’s a counter for comfortable solo dining. But the ambiance is still pretty bleh.
3) They’re at the upper end of their price bracket… in a Fairfield strip mall.
4) Can’t they serve CT lobster?
Serious yum. I’ll be back soon for the garlic lobster roll and potato chips.

Had our first meal at Lobster Post after a friend gave a raving review. Make sure you are aware that this is not a sitdown restaurant but more of a take out place. They do have a small amount of seating, and we did eat inside with our kids. Probably the widest selection of lobster dishes I have ever seen. Everything from lobster rolls and lobster wraps to full-​blown lobster dinner. Although their specialty is clearly Lobster, they have a wide variety of other kinds of seafood. In fact, both my wife and I opted for non-​Lobster main courses. I had steamed mussels and she had fish tacos, both of which were absolutely delicious. We also split an order of lobster fries which were out of this world. Our kids had organic hotdogs and Panko crusted fish sticks. Also delicious. Would not hesitate to recommend this place if you love lobster and seafood.
