Not going to say much, but I’m never going to come back to this place. The food is so bland and it barely has any flavor. Waste of money.

Me and the lads just got done with some cheeky shopping and were feeling a bit peckish. We were browsing around the food court and were immediately drawn by the amazing Chinese smells coming from Hunan Chinese Gourmet. Here’s a breakdown of our experience: Food: Make no mistake, as others have said, the beef noodle soup was just down right bloody brilliant! Flavorful broth, tender beef chunks, and delicious handmade noodles. One of the best beef noodle soups that has ever touched my lips. I highly recommend it. The lads all loved their dishes as well. Authentic Chinese/Taiwanese food to say the least. Price: For the Virginia shopping area and the amount of food that you get, the prices of the food was more than reasonable. I’m all about the value that you get for the price, so this place really didn’t hold back when it came to that. Service: Quick, efficient, effortless. Me and the lads were starving, so when all our food came out under 10 minutes, we couldn’t help but become giddy with joy. Staff: Friendly and very accommodating. One of my lads asked for a fork for his noodle soup(still a little slow with the chopsticks, that poor chap) and immediately received one. Smiles all around. Cleanliness: Spotless both inside and outside. Very impressed. Bathroom was clean and smelled fresh as well. Made me want to take a dump in there for hours! Overall, I had a very good dining experience at Human Chinese Gourmet if you couldn’t tell already. The only downside is that it was a little crowded when me and the lads went for lunch, but luckily we found seats and were still attended to very quickly. Be sure to arrive early if you’re looking to taste some fantastic food! Me and the lads will definitely be returning! Until next time, pip pip cheerio! P. S. There was this very beautiful girl behind the register that one of my lads couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear whenever he looked at her. I think he fancied her! Her bright smile and friendly service made our experience that much more enjoyable. If you’re lucky, you might see her there!

Hands down the best noodle soup I have ever eaten. Nice meat to noodle to veggie ratio, and comforting and homey tasting soup. The owners are super nice and the soup noodles are greatt. 10⁄10 would eat again.

Very good food at the right price. The only reason they are getting 2⁄5 stars is that all their child booster seats are defective!

My mom swears by their combination fried rice, apparently they are the only ones that know how to do it right. I agree, momma knows best. And their shrimp/rice ratio is just right :)

I’ve only had the beef noodle soup which has been highly praised. Don’t let the mall location fool you, it was pretty legit. I would like to try other dishes eventually if I’m ever in the area. Not to rank one over another, but the soup was less oily than A&J which was what I immediately noticed. There were also ample amounts of beef and the noodle texture was good. Portion was plentiful There seems to be some QC issues that affect quality consistency, stemming from personal experiences and other reviews so I left it at 3 stars. I don’t know about making a special trip from DC just for this though.

Sooo this rating is for the bubble tea. The bubble tea was awesome! I had the taro flavor frappé bubble teas. Not too sweet! Better than most of the bubble tea I’ve had at other places. Also, I ended up getting an egg drop soup here. It is definitely better than a lot of Chinese places. Very flavorful, not too thick/yolky feeling. I plan on trying their other dishes soon.

Mmeehhhh. Food quality seems to have deteriorated/become more inconsistent over the past few years. I only liked the noodle soups here but the last time I ordered their beef noodle soup the noodles were so overcooked that they completely fell apart! Pretty bummed out that it was such a mushy mess. The only redeeming factor for me is probably their bubble tea. It’s decent enough for me to come back, though I’m not really a fan of the flavors they offer besides Taro(think they have strawberry, honeydew etc). Come here for your quick boba fix?

I’ve always loved their food and have dined in at the restaurant inside the mall many, many times. The chicken fried rice, which is what order almost all the time, is amazing. Recently, I’ve been ordering delivery and they have king an amazing job! I’m very happy with this place!

Food is ok, but it’s expensive– a bowl of noodles will run you 12−15+ bucks. You would think paying that much for a bowl of noodles they would clean up your table, but you have to bus your own table. I went to put my bowl away but there was no place to pour the liquid and no one had cleaned up the pile of dishes and my bowl tipped over and fell on the floor, nice.

Their bubble tea is amazing. It’s weird considering it’s a dinner place. I haven’t tried much of their food but I do like the fried rice that’s on the special’s menu. The bubble tea Is still better. The best bubble tea is a toss up between green tea, taro and coconut. And I like that you can get it frozen/smoothie or just like liquid. The soups are served in huge portions. I tried one of them and it was just alright. The food, I do agree, it’s a tad pricy. The Singapore noodles are good too, but I’m not a big fan of the brown rice, but I don’t like brown rice in general. My biggest complaint would be the price of the food. The bubble teas are just amazing though! Get any of the bubble teas!

Traditional Chinese food. The best dishes in my opinion are: 1. fried chicken wing: very big wings with great seasoning and coating. 2. hand made beef noodle soup: very generous portion.

Not very good. Had a king pao special. Tiny plate. Small cubes of chicken were dry and tough. Egg roll was like cardboard. Hot and sour soup was good. Order takers were not friendly. Girl cleaning table was nice.

I went here yesterday and tried 2 different kind if soup. My husband was enjoyed the meal. We feel like they are not a lot of msg in the food like other Chinese Restaurant we went to. The food is nice and hot. The ingredient is fresh. We will definitely go back and try something new too. By the way, they also have the pictures of the food on the wall to give you an idea to order since the menu is in Chinese Language.

Wanted some delivery on a windy, freezing cold night…this place is decent. I ordered General Tso’s & chicken fried rice. General Tso’s — they use a little too much batter, but sauce is good. Fried Rice — decent… kind of greesy & they use dark meat chicken, which I hate. Egg roll — terrible. Flavorless & borderline stale.

Yes, it’s in a mall. But, would you believe me if I said you will find THE best Sichuan beef and tendon noodle soup in the country at this place? It’s true. Most niu rou mian I’ve had look way better than they actually taste. The soup here has spicy broth(dried chili peppers galore), tender beef, chewy tendon, and pickled mustard greens. The bowl is $ 10 and is larger than your head. It also comes with a ladle. And all that makes this place awesome. I leave with a broth belly each and every time, but oh so pleased. I’ve been here five times and never felt the need to order anything else. You should follow suit. You will be so happy you did. Note: If you do not eat beef tendon, order it with just beef. As a third option, you can order just beef tendon. I order half beef and half tendon.

Three and a half stars. Cafeteria layout located by JCPenney, pick up your order at the counter when it’s ready. Better NRM than Mama Wok and Joe’s, comparable to Michael’s thanks to unimpressive noodles. I failed to specify half beef, half tendon, which probably would have encouraged me to round up. The beef was lightly gristly and marinated sufficiently in soy. I liked the inclusion of napa cabbage as well as sliced mustard green. The dried chili peppers garnishing the top added a good amount of heat. Wide noodles are like chow fun, egg noodles are like lo mein. Spicy sauce lacked depth. Curry beef with tofu offered a soup broth that was pretty bland, tasted like generic beef stock. Its meat barely tasted like curry. I’ll be back to try the Szechuan beef stew noodle soup with tendon mix, and maybe the da-lu mien and mince pork noodle soup.
