Recently started a job nearby and thought I would give them a chance since they are legit next door. That was a big mistake. I ordered the General Tso Chicken lunch special. Great that I could order online however my order was wrong. To make matter worst, once I got my food it was already Luke warm, despite coming 10 minutes before projected order due time. I walked across the parking lot back to my office and discovered my order had the wrong type of rice. And the icing on the cake, the chicken was not fresh at all, it’s taste was similar to week old Thanksgiving warm up. I will not make the mistake again of ordering based on proximity. One and done.

This is the best Chinese food we have ever had! The sweet and sour sauce was nice and thick(has onions, bell peppers, carrots). The hot sour soup was great, Crab Rangoon was the slightly sweet kind(my favorite!), my husband got pot stickers(fried) and they were great(I usually don’t like pot stickers but I loved these). He got the Singapore rice noodles and(he is very critical of food) loved them. Our 7 year old got Chicken Lo Mein noodles and loved hers as well as the hot sour soup(A first for her). There was enough food on our plates that we decided to do ‘family style’ and everyone shared. There was MORE than enough food. The price was great, three dinner portions, two appetizers and two small cups of soup was about $ 50. And those dinner portions will be lunch tomorrow and still have some left over! They were very gracious, kind, and polite. The waitress even packed up our food for us. Our daughter(unprompted) thanked her for how great the food was. I would post pictures but we were to busy eating. We’re from out of state and staying at the hotel it’s connected to.

Two words, Extreme BAD. Literally the worst Chinese food i have ever had in the greater Washington area. Here is the details: I was there during a Tuesday afternoon and there were no customer except for my friend and I. Yet, the waitress didn’t really want to take us because she is too busy trying to take a nap. Not only that, the chefs doing the same thing. After we ordered, the chefs slowly got up, looked at us and said something in Chinese, he seemed annoyed because we disturbed his nap hours. We ordered general tso chicken for my friend and I have twice cooked pork. General tso chicken was fine, but the sauce of twice cook pork was dripping wherever, yet taste rotten. So, i asked the waitress and she relied with«its fine» And walked away. I assume she didn’t understand or even try to explain it to me. I left my dish there untouched because its awful. Even my friend thought the meat for my dish was not eatable.

Order was wrong. And poor food quality. Ordered extra spicy general saos chicken with lo mein noodles in place of fried rice, spring rolls, steamed dumplings and crab wontons. There was no sauce for the crab wontons or spring rolls, general soa’s chicken was sweet(sweet and sour sauce) and not at all spicy and came with steamed rice, the steamed dumplings were a giant sticky ball of wet dough. I am massively disappointed in the quality of food this restaurant provided I will not be ordering from them again.

We went back there to try out other authentic Chinese dishes. Chef s Special Spicy Fish Pot(沸腾鱼) was super delicious, a lot better than other Chinese restaurant in that area. Fish was fresh with great flavor and there were several types of veggie in the broth under a pile of fish filet which were super amazing. The waitress was really nice. I would definitely go back to try other dishes that I haven’t tried.

Do not order from here. I do not review much at all but I had to make sure people avoid this place. After over 2 hours of waiting for my food and multiple phone calls they stopped answering phone calls and the food never came.

They were out of Wonton soup so they said they’ll refund me. We’ll see if that actually happens. I asked for fried rice and got white rice. Not happy with this place at all.

My first time having soup dumplings and it was great! I have nothing to base this off of weather it was good or not but for me it was great! The place is in a comfort in but it’s nice and quiet. Can’t wait to try other places!

I was staying at the Comfort Inn and decided to check out the Asian Palace which was located in the hotel. The restaurant was very large(approximately two floors) and clean. Service was very quick with an extremely kind staff. Food was okay, I wasn’t blown away or dying for more. I was hoping for more vegetables in my moo goo gai pan. The majority of this dish was chicken, mushrooms and broth.

Shockingly slow delivery, especially for a Tuesday night. Placed order at 8:13pm and was not delivered until 9:52pm!!! I called them twice and both times they said it was«on the way». Then the driver called asking where I was even though on the order I said it was at the HOTEL. I had I known it would have taken this long I never would have ordered from them. As for the food, it was average Chinese at best. The Szechuan Beef was really sweet, not spicy at all and WAY too greasy. My Hot and Sour soup was also not very hot and sadly lacking in flavor. I ordered fried rice and got plain white which wouldn’t have been too bad but after an hour and a half delivery trip, the rice was cold as was most of the other food. The only saving grace were the ribs which were surprisingly tasty after all the other stuff. I would avoid this place like the plague.

Ordered won ton soup and the Triple delight. Soup had a beef base and was super salty! Triple delight almost as bad. Beef was so tough I was unable to eat it. Chicken had a strange texture and no taste. Strange Hu? Shimp and vegtables just fine. Sauce was a little spicy for my taste. I was starving, food was minimal at best. Brought the beef issue to the attention of the waitress. She tried to find the owner with no luck. Suspect she is terrified of the chief. The service and the tea were great. There for two stars.

I ordered Steamed Meatball, Lotus Roots, large meat bun and juicy pork bun. It’s really delicious and value for money. I will recommend this place for Dim Sum lover.

I went with a group of co-workers to Asian Delight recently during the blizzard of 2016. Things went south quickly. The waitress sent out three wrong orders and forgot mine all together. An older lady who I assume is the owner or manager came over to our table and argued about food that was sent out wrong. The entire group agreed that we would rather starve during the blizzard than return to Asian Delight.

Ugh. Where do I begin? We thought we were on a roll in discovering new, actually authentic, Chinese places in the Fairfax area. First Chengs in Chantilly, and then Nanjing in Fairfax… both unique and amazing! Running with that momentum, we became intrigued with what appeared to be new ownership at a long-time ever-changing Chinese restaurant location, 4-stars on Unilocal, and some nice looking photos and endorsements. I will tell this story blow-by-blow: Arriving and expecting a nice location, I am shocked to find that the restaurant is inside a low-end hotel, and still has the old name on the building. I become suspicious, as I’ve literally never eaten at a hotel restaurant that was good. And… a Chinese hotel restaurant? At the entrance, we are greeted by thick cigarette smoke, which persists inside, and lingers even at the table they seat us at by the window. Which is cold. And noisy, as they inexplicably seat us next to a loud table in an otherwise empty restaurant. Despite the fact that most of the other tables are covered with dirty dishes, they relocate us to a safe distance, and actually it’s warmer there and not smoky. But… forget about quiet, there are perhaps 5 people hanging out in back that work there, and they allow a family small child to do his thing, very loudly, right there in the restaurant. Oh, and the place looked, and smelled, like you were in a cheap hotel, right down to the ancient tattered loose hotel carpeting under our feet. First impressions aside, we excitedly study the menu. My girl came specifically to get a favorite item from home, a dish with snails. No need to study the menu, she knows what she wants. I decide on the amazing-looking Wuxi spare ribs(from a picture on Unilocal, the menu, full of strange exotic things, has almost no photos to help). She is told they don’t have snails. Ever. Despite them being on the menu. Incredibly disappointed, she orders the fried eel dish on impulse. I also order hot and sour soup as an appetizer. Second impressions dropping. Soon, out comes the food. But, I never received my soup. Grrr. The waitress apologetically brings the soup out quickly, on the house.(kudos for that). We try the food with high hopes. I find that the spare ribs are huge, plentiful, and the meat is succulent. But… the sauce is completely uninspired, not much flavor, and very sweet. Seemed to me to have come from a jar from the store. The eel… well…it was burnt to a crisp. Literally, it had been deep fried to cinders, and tasted like you were eating ashes. I love eel. We couldn’t even tell that it was eel, it could have been anything before becoming this sauce-covered cremation. We hate to complain, but this was not edible. Again to their credit, they graciously took it back and replaced it. Well, the waitress was gracious. The owners took turns coming over to «educate us», first with argument that everyone else loves this dish, and second with the explanation that this was«real» Chinese food, implying that we were clueless, which we are not. At this point, into my third rib, I discovered that many of them were literally cold, as if fresh from the refrigerator. Seriously? With more apology, they took them back, and along with my girl’s replacement potato dish returned them nice and hot. Finally we get to eat our food in peace – sort of, with occasional loud outbursts from the child, and at one point he even rode by our table on his scooter. Just wanting to get through this and out of here at this point. In the end, the ribs were good, if you like them bland and sweet. The soup was below average without much flavor. The Shredded potatoes and hot pepper were excellent. They didn’t charge us for the eel nightmare. To their credit, they were nice people who tried to make this right, but I see no reason to go back here with so many other choices in this area. I think they make their money off of hotel guests and the buses of Chinese tourists that stop there.

We first ordered spicy snails, were told they didn’t have it, then ordered crispy eel and Wuxi spare ribs. The eel tasted nothing like eel but sweet sticks, they put way too much sugar in it and it’s over burned, the spare ribs were also too sweet and some of them were still cold, we had to have them reheated. Very disappointed.

This hidden Chinese restaurant gem in Fairfax is a must-try! Located below the Comfort Inn, the restaurant may be easily missed or overlooked. If you like authentic, non-Americanized Chinese food this is the place to go! The food is light and well-seasoned. We ordered: Minced Beef with Vermicelli — delicious! I haven’t had this dish in years! Fungus(mushrooms) with Taro Roots — delightfully refreshing and a great vegetarian dish Sweet and Sour Mandarin Fish — must try! fried to crispy perfection with the right amount of sauce Our meal came with complimentary sweet pumpkin taro dessert soup — I NEED the recipe for this. AMAZING! There are only a few legit Chinese restaurants in the area that I would recommend and this is one of them, my friends!

Was not impressed. Ordered delivery and took about an hour and half to get here and it was a Tuesday night. I ordered the Phoenix and Dragon, fried dumplings, house fried rice, and seafood fried rice. The food arrived lukewarm, probably because it took so long to deliver. The Phoenix and Dragon has too much breading which slid off the meat. The fried dumplings were ok, generic chinese food dumplings nothing spectacular. The house friend rice was the only good thing I ordered. However, it almost seems like they forgot to «fry» the seafood fried rice because it looked like very different from the house fried rice. The seafood fried rice was just plain white rice mixed with vegetables and egg, very bland. I will most likely not order from this place again food was mediocre, delivery took a long time

My wife and I visited the Asian Palace last night for the first time. We had tea for our drink which was to say at best, lukewarm. We shared a large bowl of corn soup which was tasty enough that we took the remainder home. I ordered Hunan Chicken and my wife ordered a noodle dish. Both were quite good but COLD. We returned the dishes and when they came back both of them had lost quite a bit of their taste and my wife’s dish was very greasy. We brought it to the waitresses attention and she apologized — no offer of a fresh serving or another menu item. When we got the bill we saw that we were still charged for my wife’s dinner. When we mentioned it the manager he simply apologized. We have been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant in Fairfax for some years now since most of the good ones have closed. To cap it off, the fortune cookies were a bit stale. I guess we will have to keep looking.

The sign outside still says Asian Delight, but the takeout menus have Asian Palace on the front pages… I dunno… Anyway Asian Palace/Asian Delight/whatever you want to call it, is a solid spot for more exotic Chinese dishes. Some menu items looked to be from Sichuan and surrounding areas, others seemed to hail from less familiar regions. If you want spicy and aromatic, then they feature dishes like cumin lamb. Craving something milder? Order the taro root with fungus(the fungus is wood-ear mushroom). The sizzling squid, which I expected to come out drenched in some thick gravy, was actually prepared in a white sauce that was pretty gentle. Want salty? Get the Chinese cabbage with mashed garlic. Note: They could use a little less salt on this dish. I love salty foods, but this was a tad too salty even for me. The squid had the opposite issue – needed more salt. Mister disagreed and thought it was just right. Salty food-lovers, prepare to get the salt shaker out for the squid and to eat the cabbage with lots of rice. Overall, the food was pretty tasty and seemed to be cooked with a lighter hand. Some of the flavors and ingredients reminded of Hunan Taste, also in Fairfax, though I think Hunan Taste as a whole provides a more complete dining experience – well-seasoned food and very attentive service(and prettier space). Asian Palace, though supposedly newly renovated, still has a slightly dingy feel. Our server was really nice and sweet. The only issue is that she was the only one working last night it seemed, granted it was a quieter weeknight, so service was a tad slower. Not her fault, more of a management issue. The owner seemed to lurk in the background, but didn’t offer much in the way of helping customers. Still, definitely above average service and much better than some other similar establishments. As some may have already mentioned, don’t come here for orange chicken. Not that kind of place. Be prepared for more unusual ingredients and sometimes more assertive seasonings, depending on what you order.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Fairfax. I have come here many times to have a dinner with friends or order a takeout. Grandma’s Red Braised Meat is my favorite.
