2016 I eat at this Bob Evans at least twice a week. I’ve always been happy with the quality of the meals and the speed of the service. Sometimes on a Sunday morning, after church lets out they get a surge and things get pretty busy but the staff pulls it off. Good long term servers and cooks. I recommend this restaurant.

Horrible service! Food is good on occasion. The last two times have not been good experiences. The first there was something stringy in my food. Almost rubber spaghetti looking thing. The manager didn’t apologize but made excuses that it’s something in the scrambled eggs because of how they make them. Funny I had eggs over medium. The next trip my French toast was dark. I mentioned to the waitress and she didn’t seem to care. I flipped it over and it was burnt. They were hiding the burnt. At that point I asked for a new batch. The next batch was burnt too just my as bad. Seriously how hard is it to not burn French toast. In addition the food took a very long time to come out. The place wasn’t that bust at all. And service was terrible. Waitress disappeared until she came by and asked if we had room for dessert. No thank you just the bill. Ugh. Horrible service!!!

Usually we are quite pleased with the service but today they were having an off day. We waited 15 minutes to be seated. That’s not unreasonable normally however there was simply no one there. We stood for 10 minutes before someone told us they would be right with us. After being seated we placed our order. Food came with half of it missing and we had to ask for the missing items. Waitress never stopped after this to check on us and see if we needed anything. One of our drinks sat empty for 15 minutes before we finally went up front and paid and just left.

Bob Evans is super similar to a Denny’s… just a little bit better. There is actually two eggs on your plate when you order scrambled eggs. Also, the food here comes out super fast. The people here are pretty nice. And service is on point. Another bonus is they give military discounts. And there is plenty of parking… not that it’s ever a problem in Dayton. :)

Not very good. The dishes smelled like dirty dish water. I was not impressed and will try somewhere else next time.

Great place for breakfast. The Brioche French Toast was excellent. I came on a late Saturday morning and the wait for groups was over 20 minutes, but since I was single, they got me in at the bar as soon as I stepped in.

So we just moved here a few months ago and everyone has been saying we should come to bob evens, well last night we finally went(we hardly ever eat out) him and I both ordered burgers and my daughter ordered reindeer pancakes. The burgers were so overdone it was like eating a very thin hockey puck. My daughter loved her pancakes but the syrup was horrible it was stringy almost like it was old. So after laughing about our dinner we thought we would try some pie, I got pumpkin and he got silk pie. My pumpkin pie slice was so small and undercooked and his pie was mostly whip cream there was hardly any chocolate on it. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because our waitress was nice. Never going back!

You can never go wrong with this place. Good food and friendly service. The grilled chicken is the bomb. I also love their breakfast. The to go menu is always changing for the better. The bread selection is great too.

I do not like this place!!! This is the only 1 star I have been giving on Unilocal among all the reviews. I have nothing against to Bob Evans, the food is all right, nothing fancy nothing too bad either. But the experience earns 0 star! Our waitress is so rude that I do not want to go back to bob evan again! First, the waitress rush my husband to order and interrupt him because he didn’t tell her what dressing he wants. You can tell her bad attitude from the way she interrupts him. Then, I asked if I could have two different bread because I’ve never try the new flavor, but I can tell that my request makes her really unhappy. I was trying to be nice to her by passing the plate to her and saying«thank you» every time she pass something to us. But obviously it is not working!!! The food is barely warm when she gets it out to us. Before my husband and I could finish the meal, she asked if she could brought up the desert. What is the rush? ???I had a much better experience at the same location with a different waitress!!! I was a little unhappy already, but it would not bring this to a 1 star if nothing happened afterwards. It is really cold out there and I want a hot beverage, but it is also late night and I don’t want to have any caffeine drinks. So I only order hot water trying to get warm and a good sleep afterwards. My husband saw a bottle of honey on the table along with the salt and pepper, so he put some honey in my hot water to sweeten the water a little. Somehow, our waitress decide charge us two hot teas without telling us. I wonder if they take extra-charge for putting additional salt and pepper on our entrée. After we told her that we didn’t order the hot tea, she look at our cups. I was trying to say it’s just honey in there, but before I get a chance to say anything, she grab the receipt and come back with a new receipt. She didn’t explain what happen and did not apology for the extra charge at all. Then, she walked away again without saying anything at all!!! Really, what’s the rush??? I am really upset at our waitress, and next time if i go to bob evan and see her again, i would ask to change a waitress. After all, I am a paying customer, I don’t have to watch her bad attitude!!!

Not sure why all of the bad reviews. Everything has always been great for me. Don’t hate, just because you’re still half asleep and your toast wasn’t exactly up to your extraordinarily high standards.

Terrible. Food was awful, service was average at best. Granted, we only went once, but it was on a Saturday morning, so you’d think the food would be decent and fresh. Bacon was gross and chewy, sausage links were barely warm, tasted funky and were a bit pink inside. Eggs were«meh» and dry. We spent $ 25 and felt like we totally wasted our money. Could have stayed home and made it 100 times better for a fraction of the cost. Worst Bob Evans I’ve been to. Will not be returning.

Overall, I didn’t like my experience here at all. I walked in by myself on a Saturday morning. It was packed, but I sat down at one of the empty chairs at the counter. I was helped immediately, which is nice, and my coffee came out just a few minutes later. The coffee was hot but tasted burnt, but I did get a whole mini-pot to myself. I ordered sausage links with my eggs and home fries. When I got my food, it came with sausage patties. I didn’t say anything to the waitress about it, but she asked me my preference when I ordered, and I got the wrong thing. The home fries were burnt black on the side and were not seasoned at all. The eggs were the best part of the meal, cooked exactly to order. When I got my bill for $ 10.50, I felt cheated out of my money because my breakfast was so poor. I could have spent $ 3 for the Breakfast Platter at Hardee’s and would have been much happier with that.

I tried this place a few weeks ago and it was just not that great. I attributed it to the fact that we came in at the end of the night and everyone just wanted to go home. Yep! That wasn’t the reason. It just is not that good. Not the food, not the service, not the price… nothing. I went at lunch on a Tuesday and they were hoppin’! I was seated pretty quickly, which was nice. My waitress had the personality of a wet noodle. She was not rude but didn’t smile. She didn’t seem to care about much(including her tip, obviously). I ordered the basics, eggs, bacon and a biscuit. The portion was really big. Lots of egg whites(yippee!), 4 pieces of bacon and 2 biscuits. I honestly did not care for the biscuits. I can’t put my finger on it. I just didn’t love them. My real issue though was with the service. My waitress never came back to see if I was ok. She didn’t ask me if my meal was cooked properly. She didn’t return to refill my drink. Nothing! The problem was that well there was a problem. My bacon was not cooked enough. I wanted them to throw it on the grill for a minute or two but there was not a waitress in site. When I finally laid eyes on one(not mine) she scooted away so fast I couldn’t grab her attention. This left me to eat limp bacon with no beverage to wash the sodium down. She dropped the check off and didn’t offer a refill on soda, a box, or even a thank you. I had to go up to the counter to get a box. The girl at the register was pretty great and she even helped me with my math as I made a meager attempt to calculate tip. Hey! I eat, I’m not a mathematician. If I was the latter I would probably be a lot skinnier. Bottom line… service sucked… food wasn’t much better. I will probably head of the road to Big Boy’s next time.

Meh, I wish I can have a better dinner. Everything except the bread is not good. Salad came with too little dressing. Mashed potato with too little gravy. Did not like the sundae, either. Waited for 10 mins for a water refill. Wanted to give a 1-star. The extra two stars are for the banana nut bread. I would give more stars if they give me more bread… Only got 2 tiny slices of bread with dinner…;( Are they trying to save money by cutting off the portion? cut off the price as well, please…

The Memphis dry rub chicken and sweet potato fries is pretty good. Chicken breast was nice and moist. But the side dish of macaroni and cheese was cold! Had to be returned to be reheated. The chicken fried steak CLEARLY was not cooked on the grill but was microwaved from a box of prepackaged frozen steaks. Uggggghhh…

I finally made it to Bob’s this morning. I ordered their two eggs, two sausage and two biscuit breakfast($ 7.99). As always, I asked for my eggs extra, extra soft(runny, sunny and hot). My order came up within ten minutes. My eggs were perfect! My biscuits — heavenly. And Bob’s sausage — lets just say, I can’t get this at home. They we’re finger lickin’ good. I can’t visit Ohio without eating at both Bob Evans and White Castle’s. Bob Evens is the staple food and restaurant of the mid-west. Bob’s is best know for they’re sausage and biscuits. But they have one more item just as good. Apple Butter. If your asking yourself or someone else what Apple Butter is, you better ask somebody else from the mid-west or go and google it and find out what your missing.
