We hit up Manna Teriyaki on Tuesday due to arriving home late from work and I having no desire to cook — so, we did«Teriyaki Tuesday» at Manna(not an official event, just what I dubbed it). It was a rainy, miserable night and it seemed we weren’t the only ones not wanting to cook. Manna is located in a stripmall attached to Fred Meyer on 132nd in Everett. Parking is plentiful, yet at a premium all at the same time. It’s a busy, busy place. We walked into Manna with who I would assume to be the son of the owner manning the cash register and incessantly-ringing telephone; I took this as a good sign — busy = good food. It took a couple minutes for the man to look up and take our order, even after he got off the phone. I didn’t find this too problematic, as it gave me time to consider their menu. I ended up going with my old standby of chicken teriyaki with chicken breast, and my husband went with his favorite, chicken katsu. What I like about Manna is that they serve each meal with a cup of hot miso soup to start, and include salad with the entrée. This makes the price of $ 7.95 for chicken teriyaki fairly attractive. On a cold, rainy night, that miso soup to start really rang my bell — and it arrived soon after we sat at our table. As we waited for our meals(about 10 – 15 minutes), there was a steady stream of customers coming into for takeout orders and the phone continued to ring off the hook. Our food arrived, and I was impressed with the healthy mound of grilled chicken breast lightly doused in teriyaki sauce; along with it was a salad with creamy dressing and the traditional rounded mound of white rice. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and while there was not much teriyaki sauce on it, it still had good flavor. For those who want extra teriyaki sauce, there is a bottle of it on the table. My husband’s chicken katsu was also plentiful, but he found it to be fairly chewy. He finished his meal, but he concluded he preferred the version at our favorite teriyaki place over by Boeing. All in all, I enjoyed Manna and in a pinch, it’s a great option for tasty Teriyaki. Will we back? Probably.

The food is consistently very good. I always enjoy piping in here for lunch. It’s got a super convenient location too.
