This location is in a tight spot in Escondido with a really weird parking lot. They have all the same items as other locations throughout San Diego county but in more abundance… Not sure if it’s due to the area demographics or if nobody shops at this location. I only drop by when I head over to the NFCU or Del Taco otherwise it is out of my range. The staff are very helpful but far and few. Also, it’s hard to find a cart when you need one, they tend to be all gone or being used by staff to but back returns.

For a Big Lots this place is huge and I always find décor stuff for cheap. I only buy décor or cards here. I don’t trust the food or cleaning supplies but hey that’s me.

Need something cheap? Head here… looking for a great shopping experience? Stick with Nordstrom. This big lots is centrally located, they usually have what you are looking for at a ridiculously low price… but the trade off for that as you know is the place is not the cleanest, the staff are scarce and sometimes unsure of most anything. But… heck…if you want a $ 36pack of no name beer, a $ 2 dvd, or a great deal on a funky brand kitchen appliance… then this is your stop!

How have I never heard of Big Lots before? This place is incredible, with craigslist prices for brand name items. Seriously, maybe it’s because I lived in Hawaii for the past 13ish years where most things are crazy expensive, but this store blew my mind completely. I’m told that much like a Ross or Marshalls, they have different things every week or so, so if you see something you like, you do have to get it right then as it might be gone next time. They have everything from toilet paper to patio sets, and I’d say 98% of the things in here are being sold significantly cheaper than you would typically find.

WOWZERS. Biggest Big Lots I’ve ever been to. Bigger selection than most stores.

Always a fun place to shop. 90% of the stuff here is junk, but their food section is worth a look. It’s a bit strange seeing furniture and electronics stacked up next cheesy décor and toys. It’s like a garage sale without the garage sale prices. Sure, there are good deals at Big Lots but you have to find them. Cheap toys can be found here, but the top brands like Thomas seem to be about the same price as Toys R Us. — The grocery items, often brands or food flavors that never caught on nationally are always fun to buy. — They now have a Rewards card(oh joy).
