Have only been a couple of times but always enjoyed the food. And of course Margarita Mondays!

I really enjoyed this authentic Mexican restaurant. We we’re greeted with warm chips and a lime cilantro salsa that got my tastebuds going. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu and found nothing we didn’t like. The margaritas are excellent, the food is great, the staff is attentive and kind, and the ticket time was fast. I really enjoyed this experience and will certainly be back for an encore.

I used to really like this place, which is why I decided to celebrate my 30th birthday here. I can’t tell anyone how much I regret this. The waiter was clumsy and spilled a pitcher filled with ice water down my entire back, so I sat through dinner with a wet shirt and wet pants. He kept wiping me with napkins and wouldn’t back off until I told him for the 15th time to stop. Then, once someone told him it was my birthday, he came back with other servers to sing happy birthday to me. While singing happy birthday, he shoved a napkin filled with whipped cream in my face. I guess this is a thing that this restaurant does to people on their birthdays, but I didn’t appreciate it. Not only did whipped cream get all over my face and in my eyes, it was on my shirt and pants too. I had to go home and change and wash my face before heading out for after dinner plans. I was offered no discount for the water incident. On top of all of this, the service was bad. We waited a half an hour for more salsa at one point. I hate this place and will never go back.

This is a great restaurant to visit on your break from shopping or trying to unwind from a hard day’s work. They offer sizable yet affordable meals. The food is authentically Mexican. They offer a wide variety of Mexican dishes. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out what to order since there are so many options. I tend to order their daily specials in order to save money. The atmosphere is also very cozy and family friendly. You can go there on a date, girls night out, or someone’s birthday. The service is always very friendly and one of the things I like the most is the welcoming environment. I always feel welcomed at Toreros!

Great roadside stop!!! Super quick service, fresh and hot chips with solid salsa. Our entrees arrived quickly and were yummy. I got the relleno, and my companion got the huevos rancheros– both were good. Entrees were around $ 8 – 11 or so, and much faster service even than some fast food joints. Large portions, neither of us could finish everything. There’s a very solid vegetarian section, and vegetarian options were available for most of the main menu choices. All of the sauces we had were yummy, and everything tasted fresh. There was plenty of staff, service was prompt and attentive but not overbearing. As far as I can tell, there’s not much else for many miles that’s close to the road and this good. It’s not like a five star gourmet restaurant in Mexico City or anything, but really it’s quite solid particularly considering the context. Definitely stop here if you are driving through!

Having to drive 850 miles in 1day is challenging enough. Add to that a tire situation in Erie, PA which caused us to go Firestone to get it fixed. As we were waiting for the tire, we decided that my partner needed a drink to relax from the previous 6 hrs and for the remaining 6hr drive ahead. We decided to take the food on the road. We didn’t want fast food and she needed alcohol, so when I noticed the $ 2.99 margaritas on a review it became an easy decision. While we sat at the bar, my partner had 2 drinks, we both ate chips n salsa and waited for our to-go order. The chips are Top-Notch because they are made in-house! Ask for the beans n rice, that come with the entrée to be brought out as an appetizer. It’s great. The portions are very nice. There was something weird in the toilet, so I went to the bbq spot to do my thing. It won’t be there when you go. ;-) just being honest I had a burrito with pork n green sauce. It is very good. My partner had the tortas. They are also very good. I can’t imagine anything here wouldn’t be good. Lastly, the staff was very attentive and quiet about it. I don’t know if they are always that way. There were 7 other tables occupied. I would definitely come back and probably make it my go too spot if I lived in Erie. Enjoy!!!

Monday night is margarita night! House margaritas $ 2.99, frozen flavors $ 3.75. And they’re tasty! There’s also a Sunday-Thursday margarita happy hour from 3 – 6, same prices. The food was good, I got Pollo a la Crema, which is an old standby choice when I go eat mexican. Torero’s version was a little less cheesy and a little more creamy than usual, but it was still delicious. The chips and salsa are as addictive as ever. I was disappointed in the guac, it was half brown when I got it, which means they used some overripe avocados, and I found some rind in it. That’s just pure laziness. A tiny little side dish was $ 1.75 and it looked like elephant crap. The tomatoes on the side of my dish also looked kinda sickly, they were orange instead of red. However, on the whole everything was pretty good. Also important, BEST fried ice cream ever. It’s legit people, they took no shortcuts. It’s hard to find a Mexican restaurant that doesn’t just throw some corn flakes and cinnamon on the ice cream and call it a day. Share it with a friend(or don’t!), but certainly don’t skip dessert. I love going out for Mexican with my in-laws. My father-in-law speaks fluent Spanish, and the waiters always perk up and are extra attentive and friendly. It’s nice, but it makes me feel like my service experience was biased. But our drinks and food all came out super quickly, and I noticed that everyone in our section got a second basket of chips without asking for one, also pretty unheard of at Mexican Restaurants. So go Toreros! I’ll be back for that fried ice cream one day…

We kind of laughed because this Mexican restaurant sits right next to an Americanized Mexican restaurant. To us the choice was obvious-go authentic! We were quickly greeted and seated. Everything on the menu looked good. We checked out other people’s food as it was brought out. The portions were enormous but they looked and smelled good. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. It’s a pretty safe choice. My husband ordered a beef burrito. When they came to the table they were indeed HUGE. My husband’s burrito was served on a big oblong plate and the burrito filled it. I don’t know how but he ate the whole thing. Usually a quesadilla is one large flour tortilla and they put the fillings on half and then fold over the empty half to cover the half with filling. THIS quesadilla was a whole tortilla filled with a whole tortilla on top. I finished half. It was so good that I filled every empty spot in my tummy. Normally you get chunks of grilled chicken in a quesadilla, but this was a slow roasted pulled apart shredded chicken. It was some of the best chicken I had ever eaten. We had great food and great service. We will definitely go back.

My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and was greeted quickly. We ordered two margaritas and also the Texanas Fajita. We enjoyed everything ! They give you a nice amount of meat and also beans rice and avocado. The queso is great as well as the salsa which I think is home made. I’d definitely come back here again

Sometimes you try a restaurant and get lucky, and today was one of those days. The chips were good, the refried beans were especially good, and the fish tacos were great. Definitely not your typical tex mex.

The worst«Mexican» food I have ever had! The waitstaff is friendly but sloppy, slow and careless. I ordered the enchiladas. They tasted terrible and were served cold. It took several mins(5+) to get the waitresses attention. I complained that the food was cold and she took it back to the kitchen. All I can say is they brought the same food fresh out of 3 mins in the microwave and a new layer of enchilada sauce. The Enchilada sauce tastes like ketchup and pico mixed together. SOGROSS! I don’t know for certain of course but I would say the«shredded beef» was cat or rat. It was disgusting. Stopping at this place was a huge mistake. Alkaseltzer to the rescue — so sick! Ugh!

Best Mexican restaurant in Erie We have eaten here several times. Always good food, fast service & reasonable prices. Yesterday, I had the veggie-chiladas. The seasoning & sauce was excellent. My wife had the tilapia. They served then whole fish & she said it was excellent. Although the wine choices are limited, it’s good wine & inexpensive. Our entrees &2 glasses of wine each for under $ 40.

Big fan of this place. Good food, reasonable portions, cost effective, know us by name. Excellent stuff. Price a tad high on certain things, but in my opinion tastier than other Mexican options in the city!

This restaurant has some of the best Mexican food in Erie. The margaritas are also affordable and fantastic. Carne asada is by far the best I have had in Erie. Always friendly staff, speak both Spanish and English so that is a plus. Child friendly atmosphere and they have kids eat free Tuesday and Wednesday, which is also another great bonus! The décor is very nice, bright and inviting. Seating is comfortable and provides a great view from anywhere in the restaurant. Overall a fantastic place. I stop in quite often and love it every time!

I’ve been to a hundred A-OK Mexican joints just like this. That’s not necessarily a bad thing; you just need to manage your expectations. The atmosphere here feels like a chain and what a surprise, it is a small chain! The décor is better than many hole-in-the-wall Mexican joints. It’s also very clean. I travel a great deal on business so I’m often alone. I like to sit at the bar to have my meal. The bar here is a joke. It’s small and uncomfortable and feels like an afterthought. I can’t imagine meeting friends here to have a drink. For that, there are a dozen better places within a three minute drive. The house margaritas are pre-made and are served from a giant five gallon metal container. They are cheap and forgettable. For my meal I ordered Carne Asada($ 12.75). It was filets of skirt steak charbroiled and garnished with whole green onions, jalapeños, guacamole, pico de gallo, rancho beans, Mexican rice, and corn tortillas. It was served in a flash and was a large portion. And yes the plate was hot. If I’m ever served a Mexican meal on a cool plate I’ll drop dead from shock! As expected it was A-OK and the price was right. If you need to fill up on cheap Mexican food these folks will get the job done. Anyone that gives this place 5 stars doesn’t get out much, or has the IQ of a golf bar or both!
