Great family atmosphere, but take out combo pizza was soggy and didn’t have great flavor. I do plan on returning to try other menu items.

I ordered the meatball sub, it was the best meatball sandwich I’ve had in my life. Told friends about Rico’s and they also heard from friends how great the pizza is. Great place for eat in or take out and next door to Army surplus store, my favorite place to buy goods.

Good pizza, friendly staff, and great price. Was surprised at the quality of their Cheese cake actually. delicious! Chicken Parm sandwich was pretty good as well but nothing to write home about. They only accept Cash or Check as a heads up

This is a great place to get a real NY style pizza, nice thin crust & just the right about of toppings & the price is great. They don’t take debt or credit cards to keep the prices down. It’s a small place but worth the visit. It’s a great place to eat, plus it’s family owned & run.

Fantastically delicious pizza! Reminds me of some of my favorite little pizza spots in back in Chicago. You have to pay in cash or check and they don’t deliver, but you can pretty much call in your order, head straight there, and it will be ready. The price is right, too!

Today was my first night at Rico’s and walking in was so nostalgic for me. The smell of a traditional pizzeria fills the small space, and even though it was only a Monday night this place was hoppin! You can either take out or eat in, we decided to eat in since this place was so quaint and cozy on a cold December night. We got some waters and two large calzones(the sausage and the stromboli). They were to die for! The marinara sauce and fresh mozzarella on top were the perfect touch as well. We will definitely return to this amazing little hole in the wall!

Sadly Horrible experience. I was 5 mins away from my pelvic massage apt. I arrived early so I decided to go eat somewhere nearby since I am pregnant and hungry. I found Rico few blocks away and decided to walked in which I wasn’t greeted at all. I asked if they had slices and they said no so I said thank you. I ended up ordering a pasta from their lunch menu. For my surprise they only took cash and asked me to step outside and use their ATM. They charged almost $ 4 to take money out. I paid and I sat to wait for my pasta. I waited for like 10 mins and she put it to go. I opened the box and I noticed the garlic bread were so cold and hard. I took a bite and I could tell they’ve been sitting there for a while so I proceed to eat the pasta. After 3 small bites it was hard to chew that I couldn’t continue. The pasta was over cooked. You could tell all around that it was dry and hard. Don’t get me wrong overall good taste but I couldn’t keep eating it. Politely I asked the lady if she can please help me since I was having a hard time eating the pasta. She called another heavier lady looks like maybe the owner. She was so rude she was speaking in front of me like I wasn’t even there saying everything is fine with the pasta. She freaking touched my pasta with her fingers and said it was perfectly fine that maybe it was the cheese that was hard. I got up and faced her in a nice manner and told her I thought the taste was great but the pasta was extremely hard … she goes and puts her finger AGAIN. She didn’t give me an option simply said«I’ll give you spaghetti and meat sauce«. Since I needed to go and was such a horrible experience I just sat and waited. I had 10 mins to get out of there. The cook«older gentleman» brings me the food doesn’t even talk simply throws my food. I started eating the spaghetti which was soft and much better … About 5 mins passed and im in front of them facing their backs they’re taking about me «wasn’t she leaving to the doctor«that was absolutely rude. I simply couldn’t take it I grabbed my purse and I was leaving I look at the 3 of them(older gentlemen, heavier lady and tall blonde girl more like owners I think) and left them $ 10 tip and said THANKYOU. They didn’t even care or looked my way. So disappointing not only wasted money $ 24 but overall experience. It didn’t feel like a family restaurant more like«we don’t give a damn, we don’t care because we’ve locals all over town». They might have good food but horrible costumer service. Sad thing is I am a local with so many followers over 100k in just one social media account and to have experienced such a treatment. Very disappointing when I really try not to give noone a hard time and I always show respect when in those type of situations. I can only send good karma and God bless … Won’t be returning there again.

These guys are amazing. Not only does their fine food come with a smile during service, they’ve been doing business since 1978 and they’re most accommodating when it comes to special orders. They’ve put linguini in my calzone and I’m pretty sure I heard someone order spaghetti with bleu cheese. The joint is quaint, with maybe eight or nine small tables nestled around the kitchen. It feels like you’re eating in an Italian family kitchen, with police patches and pictures of the staff on the walls. You can also order for pick-up, which they’ll get ready for you to collect in short order. Estimates I’ve heard them give on the phone range from about five to fifteen minutes. The food is superb. There’s an obvious reason why they’ve been around for thirty-seven years. The dough is fresh, the toppings are nicely varied, the calzones are huge and the sauce is delicious. The subs are amazing, and you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone working in the area that wouldn’t recommend them for lunch.

There truly is no other pizza restaurant in Denver to go to other than Rico’s. It is a family owned business. If you don’t believe me, try it. You will soon be inviting your friends and family.

Amazing! The calzone was to die for, and the relaxed family atmosphere was a delight after so many pretentious chain restaurants. A definite must try restaurant!

I love Rico’s, but when you go there, you have to understand what you’re buying. You’re not buying 5-star atmosphere. You’re not buying 5-star service. You’re buying good pizza at a good price. Just don’t try to buy it with a credit card because Rico’s doesn’t take them. We always carry out at Rico’s because the dining area is pretty cramped. I don’t hold that against them because I know what I’m buying when I go to Rico’s. If you want good pizza from an independent restaurant at a reasonable price, stop by an ATM first, then go to Rico’s.

My only complaint is that they do not accept credit/debit cards. Pizza, calzones and meatball special have all exceeded expectations each time that I visited. Small family owned place that has atmosphere. If you are looking for a modern trendy(ugly) place, then you won’t like this place. I suppose many people do takeout though.

Alrighty… So pregnancy creates massive food cravings… Ones that might not necessarily be the best… But you go for it anyways! I’m not a gluten-fan… yes… it messes with my system… And tomato sauce messes with me too… Ha! But that didn’t stop me! :) So I called in the order for a medium pepperoni pizza at around 8:15pm. Pretty easy. My hubby picked it up. He let me know that it was pretty busy in there and that the people were nice and friendly. As soon as he got home we had yummy, melty cheesy, pepperoni pizza! The crust was delicious… And the ratio of sauce to cheese was perfect. And though the pepperoni was a little salty for my taste(I don’t usually do pepperoni, but cravings ruled my judgement this time!) we still enjoyed this! Note: They only take cash or check. Oh… there were a few leftover slices that I reheated and gave to my kiddos the next day. They liked it! If my my pizza pregnancy cravings strike again… I’m opting for a cheese pizza. I will definitely go back and order for guests whenever we need pizza!!!(Yay football season!!!)

I’ve been coming to this excellent family restaurant in downtown Englewood maybe once every couple of years for two and a half decades. My wife, kids and I all love the cheesy atmosphere, the friendly waitresses, and the grumpy pizza slingers. Their pizza and subs are wonderful, and the prices very reasonable on everything but the $ 2.50 subs, which is the biggest restaurant deal I’ve found in metro Denver. As long as Rico’s stays open, I’ll stop in as I’m passing by when I’ve got a hankering for a sub, pizza, calzone or pasta.

Oh yeah! Great little homemade meatball or Italian sausage subs for $ 2.50. Very tasty indeed and the homemade bread hits the spot! Tried the pizza and man!, they were not skimpy with the toppings and it was excellently made and quite tasty as well. They were quite accomodating when I asked for an irregular topping(Ricotta). Not too overly friendly, but nice family. I have not had a bad experience in my last 6 or so visits and the food is consistently great! I would recommend this place to anyone. Nice for a quick stop or carryout. Small place that can get crowded depending on the time of day. They have other Italian food as well but I havent tried it yet. Still stuck on them little subs and now the pizza! Yummo!

Food was good. nothing to make me stop at an ATM to eat here. Avoid the salad it is basically iceberg lettuce. Also if getting a calzone to go make sure you ask for your sauce on the side or you have a soggy mess when you go to eat it.

Even though it is CASHONLY, I will hit this place any time I am in town on business. Was in town on business from Dallas(the land of limited options when it comes to pizza and Italian food in general. And no, I do not consider Maggiano’s to be an Italian restaurant). Atmosphere– Excellent. Pizza– Excellent. Chicken Parmesan– excellent. Lasagna– Excellent. Is the Lasagna as good as Mom’s? No, but then again, nobody’s is.(I am sorry if your Mom did not make really good Lasagna). Try it. You WILL like it.

Very small, very good! We stopped in to get a pizza before a concert and we were blown away. The food was fantastic, the service was great and the prices were so cheap! We will be back!
