We have been dining at Farfalla for years, though sad to say, it had been a while since our last visit. We went this past Saturday night with some friends, and our kids, and we were delighted to be back! The menu has slightly changed, but only for the better — so many new options, especially for vegetarians, and even a delicious sounding vegan dish. And, for our omnivore friends, too many items to choose from! Our salads were fresh, crisp and delicious. The pizzas were devoured by the kids. The pasta(especially the homemade special pasta) was light and scrumptious! Our gluten-free friends didn’t go hungry, either. This was a perfect choice for a lovely evening out with family and friends. We definitely won’t be waiting so long to go back again!

We had a great experience here on Valentine’s Day. We were happy to make reservations on open table on the day of Valentine’s Day when everyone else was full. Plus it was nice they weren’t charging extra for the holiday. The food was delicious, the service was good, and the ambiance was great.(to the manager who told the host to seat us at a booth: thank you)

The food itself isn’t bad, however the staff is RUDE and insensitive. I’ve been a couple times with family and friends who live near by and like the food. However the couple times I’ve been, I’ve found the service to be beyond sub par. I have a severe nut allergy and am very conscious before ordering meals at restaurants. Apparently they don’t find this important, which became apparent the last time I was there. After the waiter explained all the deserts, we decided on one after I told the waiter which we would order as I have a NUT allergy. He said ok, acknowledging that I had an allergy, and shortly after they brought the item out. I took a bite, and immediately tasted Nutella. It was in the cream in the dessert, which I immediately had to spit out. We alerted the waiter, who cavalierly walked to check with the kitchen to see if there was nuts… 5 min later, nothing. We had to have another person check. No manager to be found. The other guy came back and insisted there was no nuts as he very outwardly laughed to himself(and our entire table), and then the original waiter returned and said there MAYHAVEBEEN nuts(it was clearly Nutella). All the while I was having breathing issues and a severe stomach and head pain. At the end, they wouldn’t remove the item from the bill and were generally all around HORRIBLE with their service, who seemed to have a complete disregard for their patrons well being. Multiple thumbs down. If you have an allergy — definitely stay away — they don’t care.

Love coming here and sitting at the bar. This is a must for me when I have to commute there for work. The bartender is super funny… he has a very cute Italian accent

The Lasagna is the very best I have eaten. Other than my mothers! I love this place, good food, good service. Good DRINKS!

Sorry Farfalla but you’ve lost me since expanding and feeling like any other overpriced Ital chain. Used to be you’d go to Farfalla for exemplary pasta and a warm vibe now it’s all bland and feeling manufactured. Tricolori salad was fine but everything was just OK from the $ 28 short rib ravioli, to the wine that was so thin and acidic we sent it back. $ 120 for two with a since shared salad, two glasses of wine, no dessert, dried out bread and uninspired service.

I wouldn’t even give one star. Added chicken to my pasta dish and chicken tasted and felt like the cubed chicken you get in a plastic bag at a grocery store. My partner had the pasta and meatballs and they charged $ 25 for the dish. Not even worth half that. The meatballs seemed like they were frozen store bought meatballs. Dense texture no flavor. The waitress couldn’t care less that we were disappointed with the meal. Wouldn’t go back and will tell friends not to go. Definitely not worth the money. You can get a better panini from Starbucks next store.

In this city of multiple Italian eateries this place is very low on the list of good restaurants. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta and meat sauce was decent but the meatballs were mass produced and were probably purchased at a grocery store. They were dry and had zero flavor. The dish was $ 24.95 which for the quality of the food is a crime. Been here several times in the past but food quality and service were mediocre-at best so I won’t be returning here ever again.

Best kept gem of the San Fernando Valley! What an experience it was to have dinner here last night. Amazing tasting Italian dishes. The penette santino(nice and spicy) is out of this world. The pesto gnocchi reminded me that I was in Italy again. All the pizza’s are stone fired. Words can’t do it justice. You have to visit! They have great outdoor seating and very attentive waiters. Can’t wait to eat here again!

When I first walked into to this place, I wondered why all the staff were uppity douchebags. Then as I got my own menu, and waited around as they sauntered past, I witnessed the reason! The owner/manager is an insufferable cunt who yells at his staff in Italian. Small wonder these stuffy pricks had an attitude. Oh and the soup was aiight. I’m giving them one star because Green Bay scored at the same time as Game of Thrones won the Emmy. Sweet.

I am cautiously updating my review because my friends and I decided after nine months to revisit this place since it is in our neighborhood and luckily to our surprise the old manager was no longer there. We had Happy Hour which we enjoy as the food is delicious. Even though it is pricier than most places, they have a better variety. No insults from the manager this time which was great. I think the owner Santino was there who was very friendly. The only thing that would be nice is if the waiters would smile once in awhile as it usually appears painful to have to serve us. We are friendly and always tip well.

We were meeting 4 friends for dinner and one recommended Farfalla. After reading the Unilocal reviews(terrible comments about the service and the attitude of the management), I was a little hesitant but agreed to give it a try. Glad I did. Service: Since the big complaints in other reviews have been about the service, I will start there. When we first walked in, the manager came over to help us select the best table for our needs. Very nice guy with a good attitude. Almost immediately our server was at the table to get our drink orders and explain the specials. A busboy came right after with the bread pass out(good bread!!). You can bring your own wine for a $ 15 corkage fee — I felt very reasonable, especially since they poured the wine we brought from home. Overall, we got appropriate attention. The food was served in a timely fashion. The water glasses never got below half empty. Food: I shared part of a Caesar salad with one of my buddies. Delicious dressing, fresh lettuce, and a lot of cheese. Really good. My wife and I shared a pizza and the Farfalla Chicken. The pizza had a very thin crust and used first rate cheese. Delish! The chicken was also first rate. Ambiance: It was a warm night so we opted to sit out on the patio. The patio is a covered areea, separated from the parking lot by a pony wall. Overall, very pleasant except, when an older car with emission problem rumbles by, some of the romance of the setting gets lost. This is a strong 4 star rating. I will definitely be coming back again.

I came to Farfalla for a girls night happy hour and was absolutely appalled and horrified by how rude the manager Davide treated our table.(After reading other Unilocal reviews, I can see we’re not the first to experience his offensive behavior.) Our waitress was wonderful, but our problems got severe during our bill. We received the first bill and noticed three of us were charged the regular price for our wine instead of the happy hour price. We told our waitress and she kindly brought us a new bill. The bill was wrong again! This time the wine prices were lowered, but still not the correct price. Third bill comes to the table and the wine prices are correct, but this time the Arnold Palmer that previously cost about $ 3.75 was upped to $ 6.00. Really!!! You’re going to trick us into paying more for an Arnold Palmer on our third time receiving the bill? Davide, the manager, spoke loudly at our table defending the restaurant making us quiver in our seat feeling uncomfortable. His words exactly stated, «I added up your bill and we all make mistakes, but if you don’t forgive me I’M NOTSORRY. I’M REALLYNOTSORRY». He argued that we weren’t seated in the happy hour section so he should have charged us more. I’m sorry, but not only were the four of us given only happy hour menus, but when we entered the restaurant we specifically told the hostess we were there for happy hour! Before leaving the restaurant, we told Davide that his attitude was extremely inappropriate. He screamed, «I have children do you want to kill them too since you don’t like me?» No Davide, we wish you and your family all the best and never mentioned them or the word killing. We are only disgusted by how you spoke to us. Again, we were four quiet ladies who just came for a nice night out to get away from our hectic schedules. Despite our table staying polite and being good loyal customers to this location, Davide embarrassed us in front of other guests, brought up his family which was completely irrelevant and uncalled for, and blamed us for our bill being overcharged three times! I can easily speak for my entire group when I say we will never return to this location as long as he is working here, and will tell our friends and family to stay away as well. If the owner of the restaurant reads this, do yourself a favor and hire a new manager before you lose all your customers.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. First of all, the service is terrible. The manager told my aunt that she had«already had enough cheese». Ridiculous. The food took over half an hour to arrive. We ordered calamari for starters that tasted like rubber. The lasagna was straight up inedible, it was hard, cold and disgusting. The chicken parm was obviously from a frozen patty and the pasta on the side was not cooked all the way. The ravioli was drowned in gross red sauce and falling apart all over the plate. The food is gross, the manager is a terrible person. Do not come here.

When I first moved to LA I scooped out the area. Since I’m a wild cook — why not try the Italian spot in the über busy shared parking lot attached to Chase, Starbucks, CVS and Planet Beauty. I was greeted by the friendly, beautiful and classy Cecila. It was perfect to sit outside and the ambiance is stellar. I thought my server was Russian(I’ve been to Russia), as he was a bit abrasive, yet accommodating. After all — I didn’t come for chit-chat. Next, I was turned over to another server(as a food writer I watch every detail from the front to the back of the house, I take my time to enjoy meals as if I were living in Europe again) who appeared to be in a rush to get home. He rushed me a bit but I handled it. The cuisine(pasta with shrimp and veggies) was okay — I’ve have far better. The wine selections are great! A few weeks later I returned to sit at the bar during the evening — happy to see Cecilia again in great spirits and chat up the sweet bartenders from Italy. I ordered the pizza. Delish! The bartenders were energetic and fun. Overall — I don’t think you’d have any major issues here. Try lunch|dinner in the bar area first and be sure to introduce yourself to Cecilia. Also, everyone will remember you. They are friendly and kind. Several new daily features a plus!

Like most other reviews, service is horrible. They are rude and act like they are doing you a favor. The food was mediocre at best. The eggplant was not tasty at all and not cooked well. Many other much better Italian places. Don’t waste your money here.

I decided to lunch while in the area. At first I was like this place is buzzing… I was seated, saw a few plates passing by, looked good so I tried the fettuccine Bolognese — tasty, and good… The sauce was amazing, authentic… My waiter was helpful, gave me a few suggestions that I will definite try next time I’m in the area. Good energy, good service, prices are reasonable for lunch too. Food… Real good. Recommend.

This place has gone down hill over the past few months. Their management changes about every other month and it seems to be a negative factor. Service has gone downhill. I waited 15 minutes to finally get a drink at the bar when it was not busy. Staff is short handed. The bar has one bartender which is not enough for the entire restaurant. Food is still good :) But not worth the bad service.

The food is whatever. The prices are very expensive. The ambiance is very nice and the service was ok but the food quality was cafeteria food with high prices. There are much better Italian food places near by with much better prices! Check out my photo with prices! 7.90 for 2 iced teas is crazy! 20 dollars for a chicken salad!!! LOLWTF?
