I have been working with Girafa for almost a year and I am enjoying every moment. He is a very patient teacher who has so much knowledge and love for the art. Coming into the class, I thought I had a few things going against me: I was turning 40, overweight, and was generally out of shape. I came to class very hesitant but Girafa immediately put me at ease.
Contra Mestre Girafa is a great instructor. He works with what you have, always pushing but never to the point where you are getting hurt or not enjoying yourself. Not only does he work on the basic movements but he also teaches the culture and history behind Capoeira. To keep things interesting, Girafa ensures that no two classes are ever the same.
Under his tutelage, I continue to grow and learn more about Capoeira. I find myself lucky to have found an awesome instructor.
