We go here all the time for a weekend lunch or a quick dinner before a movie. The food is always good, the servings ample, and the people very pleasant. My wife sticks to plain chicken tacos and I get something more adventurous. They have the hot dishes at the end or you can order from the menu or improvise as they are very accommodating. The beef tongue is pre made and frozen so definitely drier than if served fresh. The carnitas are like in Mexico, fatty and tasty. The barbacoa is southern Mexico style and made with sheep leg not beef head. Sometimes have to wait for a table. I don’t know of any better in the area.

Geez, I’m no fussy gourmand, I’ve eaten happily in thousands of hole-in-walls. I’ve eaten cow uterus tacos in street markets in Mexico City. I’m not fussy. But while the people here are very very nice, the chef’s clearly not a cook… just some Mexican dude trying to make do without training or talent or flair. He’s just sort of winging it. My carnitas torta was done on a not-very-fresh deli-style hard roll. The carnitas were flavorless, mangy hunks of insipid pork, not the least bit trimmed(some were mostly fat and gristle). No salsa, no heat at all, and no depth of flavor. The result was the Mexican analogue of a bologna sandwich on white bread. Not bad, not evil(they’re too nice to serve anything actually unpleasant), but just no particular reason to keep eating. Utter flatline.

Very good authentic Mexican food, I came here with my BF for a quick lunch, the staff is very nice and accommodating. The food was delicious, we got served complimentary homemade tortilla chips with beans and cheese, we shared pork tacos and a sausage burrito, everything was good no complaints… It’s a tiny place with only three tables, may not seem like much from the outside but it’s worth a shot, you won’t regret it! ;)

Big surprise to find authentic delish Mexican food in a small unassuming deli. Burritos are fantastic, delish and filling and only 8.50 comes with a side of fresh tortilla chips sprinkled with a little beans and queso fresco. Univision playing on a small tv screen for your viewing pleasure. Worth a try if your in the area, they have a few tables if you want to eat here.

Stopped in for a breakfast burrito on my way home from Home Depot. Great food! Cash only. Authentic, mainly for takeout but they have a few tables. I will return with my wife.

This tiny slice of Central America located in Elmsford has a special place in my heart. My husband and I have been ordering here for years and it got us through many late-night study sessions when we were in school. Lets be clear, this is a Mexican deli in that it could have been transported straight out of a small town in Mexico and plopped randomly in the middle of Westchester county. Please adjust your expectations accordingly. The décor is just paint and random posters, the menu is in Spanish on one of those old Pepsi signs where you push in the individual letters, and there appeared to be a small child helping with cleaning once. To anyone who has traveled in Central America this will bring back nostalgic memories, but to anyone with first-world expectations this can be odd. Also, you can never be 100% sure that tables and chairs will be out for you to sit. Most of the time they’re there, but not always. The menu is straight forward. Burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads, etc. They make everything how you want it and can generally understand if you describe clearly in English. As far as I can tell, every meal comes with nachos with beans and queso fresco. Everything tastes homemade — as if this is the food they cook at home for their family(I think they are a family) and just happen to be nice enough to sell it to you. I’ve been going there for the past several years and have never had a problem or complaint about the food and neither has my husband. At this point, it has become our comfort food. Also, the people who run it are the sweetest. This might be hard to see at first if you don’t speak Spanish, but trust me they are very warm and friendly. A few times we’ve seen them cut prices down to nothing for families who seem to need a break. The only reason I don’t give them 5-stars is because I’m never truly sure about the cleanliness. The drop-panel ceiling always seems to be drooping, there are cardboard boxes laying around randomly, and I just don’t know how well everything is cleaned and food is stored. Do I care enough to stop going? Of course not!
