Solidly good takeout Chinese food. I haven’t been disappointed in anything. Oh, and try the shrimp toast… Yummy!

emperors kitchen is a small Chinese kitchen that tries to give you a small serving at a small price. I ordered the shrimp broccoli meal and basically all I got was broccoli and maybe four shrimp I the meal. I was really disappointed in this place as it was one of the last Chinese carry-outs in the area I have yet to be in and there is noting special about this place. There is hardly any seating and the quickness I got more order made me wonder if they just have a big pot of stew sitting there all day.

I’ve been going to emperors kitchen since they opened a little over 10 years I believe. Great food and service. I love the crab rangons the best I’ve ever had!

Eddie the owner is so funny. Love his friendliness and how he talks to the customers. It makes the establishment great. We ordered the crab Rangoon which is huge. It is NOT full of just cheese. He has the crab with some good stuff. Not too cheesy either. This location is next door to Oberweis ice cream.

Emperors Kitchen, the food is okay, nothing special, but it is conveniently close to home. The prices are reasonable.

the food is amazing. only rub. my fortune cookie messages are repeating themselves. come on! need some diversity: D joking aside, we’ve eaten there a number of times, the food is exceptional. the prices are great. my wife wasn’t a fan of chinese food before until i gave her a bite of my takeout… we’re both sold they have probably the best crab rangoons I’ve ever had… even if you’re not an appetizer person, i would recommend trying them out

Horrible food. Greasy and was not fresh. Would never eat here again. Also the price was more than $ as listed on Unilocal.More like $$

Emperor’s Kitchen is a solid but unspectacular Chinese carry out. We ordered crab rangoons, emperor’s chicken and Mongolian beef. The emperor’s chicken and Mongolian beef were good, they could have used a little salt and a little spice. Not bad by any means but not something I’m dying to go back and try again. The crab rangoons, on the other hand, were a completely different story. Light and crispy, filled generously, FRESH. THISISHOWYOUMAKE A CRABRANGOON. What an absolute delight, go to Emperor’s Kitchen just go experience these little pockets of heaven. The service was great and the owner is really friendly. In a perfect world I would give Emperor’s Kitchen 3.5 stars, I really wish the entrees were better. All in all not a bad spot.

Still solid entrees and unbelievable crab rangoon, but they changed their egg rolls — so sad. not a fan of the new ones.

Best Americanized Chinese takeout place in the area. Their shrimp toast is so juicy and chow fun has a hint of ginger which makes it really yummy. I’m not a big fan of their chicken dishes since I like the very greasy kind ;)

I don’t want to jump the gun and say that this is the best Chinese restaurant in Elmhurst, only because there are two that I haven’t tried yet. However, this ranks as some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. I’ve been ordering from here since the place opened — many many years ago. The funny thing is that Eddie, the owner, almost always says, «15 minutes.» But, I’ve timed it and it’s usually 7 min. If you order, make sure you’re already in the car on the way there. My order, «Hunan beef, no oil, extra spicy.» As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. Follow me on Unilocal

I’ve always found it to be very difficult to find a quality Chinese takeout place. Been going here for many many years and really enjoy the food, especially the egg rolls. It’s not the cheapest but the quality is exceptional. Highly recommend.

I ordered the Governer’s Chicken and was very disappointed. I was given chicken nuggets dumped in Sweet and Sour Sauce. No flavor at all. I feel like I wasted $ 8. I will not be coming back here during my lunch. I ended up throwing it out. As much as I hate wasting food, I could not eat the meal.

Ok Chinese food. Nothing that special. I had the Kung Pau chicken lunch special. Eggroll looked great but tasted very bland. Pretty small serving for the cost. I Give it two stars.

Take this from someone that visits China town every chance he gets, this place is the best around here, hands down. I’ve worked in the area for several years now and have tried almost every chinese food place in a 5 mile radias. Everything Ive ever had from here I’ve liked, I’ve grown fond of there Szechwan Fried Rice, a must try, I like their egg rolls too, reason being you can still tell whats in them when you bite into them, not like the ones from other places where its just old cabage mush and what looks like it might be shrimps inside. The only thing about this place is they close to early for me at 8:30, since I work the late shift here at work, but now that I will be starting earlier I’ll for sure be eating here more regularly.

I love this place! Normally I get the emperor’s combination fried rice. I finally decided I had a taste for something different from this place. I ordered the combination lo mein and was expecting the typical thick noodles and ended up with dry ramen type noodles. Definitely not what I wanted. This was the only time I was not pleased with their food.

I’m not a big fan of Chinese food but if I am in the mood this is the place I go in my area. It’s clean, friendly, and the food is decent compared to the other divey Chinese takeout’s in the area that don’t look clean. It’s not greasy like other places. Before, they didn’t take credit cards but now they do. They close pretty early too.

Closed on Mondays. Carry out only. Wide selection, low prices, good quality Chinese. I’ve tried a dozen dishes and while some were definately better than others, all in all they use fresh ingredients and all dishes are at least decent. I’ve settled on the pork fine cut chop suey as being my favorite, but also really like the szechuan fried rice, which comes with more vege’s than ‘normal’ fried rice and some hot pepper to give it a little kick. Only knock on the place is that the white rice is always a little more gooey than I prefer. But that’s minor. Food is quick at lunch, never more than 15 min, and usually only 10 min. Nice carryout.

This used to be our absolute favorite Chinese take out food. However, in the past year the food has definitely gone down hill. The fried rice in particular has consistently been very mushy– it’s nothing like the FRIED rice I have come to know and love. The service, however, is consistently great! It’s pricier than the average Chinese take out, but it used to be worth it. I started going to the Thai place across the road(York rd). I think they are closed every Monday. btw — this place is ONLY take out(no delivery and no dine-in)
