Szechwan West

This is my go-​to take out place when my fridge is empty. They have a wide selection, modest prices and decent hours. Very generous portions, i usually end up with food for 2 meals. The lady at the front desk and the cook are both very friendly. Service is very speedy, regardless of the size of order.

Large portion, yet everything was cooked in a pool of sauce, including the chicken in garlic sauce. Is this Chicago style Chinese food?
Delivery was quick given I am 0.5 mile away.

We have Chinese students stay with us during the school year. They make authentic Chinese dishes for the students and American Chinese food for me!
The kids communicate in their own language and appreciate the homemade meal.
Each dish is enough for dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day.
They are located right off 290 & Wolf Rd. Pick up dinner on your way home! Don’t forget the egg rolls!

Wouldn’t know how the food is. The woman who answered the phone could not understand English AT ALL. After 15 minutes of her trying to get my address and still not able to get it I hung up.
Totally upset that any business owner would have someone like that answering their phones.
I will NEVER try again.

Good crab rangoon, shrimp fried rice was great, excellent portions !
Chicken lo mein was just ok.
Restaurant was clean but it is only a take out place.

Pleasantly surprised after reading some mediocre reviews. Flavorful food, generous portions and good prices on lunch specials. Mongolian beef was excellent — tender beef and good veggies. Friendly, family-​run carry-​out joint. Will be back.

We just moved into the neighborhood and were looking for some chinese food and so we Unilocaled it and came across this place. For the convenience it was good and affordable. We had the sesame chicken and beef chop suey.

I love this place. We discovered it when the BF moved here and found a severe lack of cheap, delicious, Chinese food. After a bit of searching, we found Szechwan West on GrubHub and have been ordering it about once a month ever since. The dinner and lunch specials are fantastic. SO MUCH FOOD. Also, CRAB RANGOON!!! So good. Seriously, it’s even delicious cold. And it’s packed full, they don’t skimp on the filling like some places. We’ve tried quite a few dishes and all have been delicious (I love the sesame chicken, he loves the shrimp with lobster sauce). Our new favorite is the Kung Pao chicken, it’s a bit different from everything other Kung Pao we’ve had and that makes it the best. Give this place a try, we did and haven’t ordered from any other Chinese place since.

Driver ignored special instructions not to use the doorbell, but instead did so and woke the baby.
I had to double-​check my order after tasting my dish. I ordered General Tso’s extra spicy, but it tasted like orange chicken. Indeed I ordered the Tso.
Potstickers were soso.
All around disappointment. I hope your experience may be different, but for me, all other area Chinese restaurants have exceeded this one.

As no-​frills as it gets, but if you want fast, tasty, cheap Chinese-​American staples, you can’t go wrong here.
