Shop N Save

I have not been to this store in years due to the cleanest and crowds.
However…just left the store and it rocked.
Produce, prices, bathroom location, friendly staff and so clean.

I love this store! The pharmacist Erica is the absolute best! No matter how far away I am, I ways go to this pharmacy! And the store is always clean!

Shop n’ Save in general has better prices than any other store with the exception of Wal-​Mart. I tend to go here when I need to do my «big» shopping.
The produce has gotten better over the past 8 years I have been going here. They still don’t have Driscolls strawberries which frustrates me. The man in the produce department is nice, and helpful, but don’t engage him too much as you may not be able to finish your shopping very quickly.
There is hardly ever a line at the deli counter which is great. No need to «take a number»…since there are no more than 2 people waiting. Their deli prices are by far the best in town compared to Schnucks and Dierbergs.
They only have 2 – 3 lines open at checkout at any given point. They seem to be understaffed, so you may wait to check out. It is bag your own groceries, which I have down to a science. I actually prefer it this way, as I can organize colds/​boxes/​cans etc. the way they would be put away at home.
I would say if the manager sees this review, that the employees could stand to be a little better groomed and cleaner. Nice people, but definitely need to be more professional. The store itself could use a good cleaning, but in general, it’s not terrible.

Needing specific things, and figuring they’re be cheaper here than at the Schnuck’s just across the street, I parked close to the door.
I found Mrs. Wages guacamole seasoning mix packet (which I’d just had at my niece’s house for Sunday barbeque) for $ 1.
Added two avocados (rock-​hard, but put in a paper bag at home for ripeness about time for the weekend) for $ 1.98.
And a lime for 50 cents.
Major hors d’oeuvres. I’m dipping celery in mine. Which I got a bunch of for $ 1.49.
None of this was on my shopping list. So, I hunkered down and bundled up the cart with the required staples.
And checked out with the lovely Jody, who remembered me from when I entered the store.
Where Shop ‘n Save gets its clerks, Schnuck’s, Dierberg’s and other stores need to find the origin. They’re the friendliest, happiest, nicest clerks I’ve ever encountered in grocery shopping.

It’s a grocery store. They don’t always have everything I want but the prices are generally better than the other grocery stores.
