I’ve gone into the shop about half a dozen times over the last few months, for various things including picks, a tuner, sheet music, and a guitar case. Every time I have gone in, the staff has been available, knowledgeable, and friendly. As someone getting back into guitar playing, I’ve never felt judged when asking questions. They are genuinely interested in helping you find what you need, what is right for you. I dropped my guitar off for a set up(new strings, tune-up, etc.), and it was ready for pickup well before the estimated pickup date. Fazio’s is great, and I intend to make all of my future music purchases there.

Great selection and service! Being musician isn’t always good times. Sometimes I need to make decisions on gear, and certain places are more helpful than others. If someone is short or unhelpful, odds are I will take my business elsewhere. Fazio’s Frets and Friends knows how to help someone with tough decisions. I’m always looking for the next sound or addition to my collection, and Fazio’s carries a pretty nice array of guitars and accessories. As far as local and independent, they might have the best selection of guitar pedals. I could plug in and goof around for hours! Recently, I purchase an overdrive pedal from them, and the associate was patient and helpful during my two visits. Yes, it took me TWO visits to decide. If you’re looking for electrics or acoustics, they have plenty to choose from, whether you have the spread to purchase American standards or cheaper Mexican models. Sometimes they get in cool and unique pieces that Guitar Center isn’t likely to carry. If you want to avoid the corporate instrument stores and shop local, Fazio’s is a great alternative to your neighborhood Guitar Center.

I’ve known Mike Fazio since 1977 before he became a store owner. He’s now retired and spending life behind a rod and reel, but his staff still remains as personable and as professional as he always required. There’s not a better store around. I’ll forever take pride in being known as one of the original dozen(or possibly half dozen) original customers.

Excellent service. We have two regular music stores in West County(that I am aware of) and since my daughter had purchased from here before and it was closer I stopped in to see about getting my guitar restrung. This guitar has been sitting unused for at least 4 years and it was about time I started making an effort to learn like I’ve always wanted. I got help on a tuner device(that made it so easy) and help with choosing a variety of picks to help me get started. I was initially told it make take a day or two to get the strings changed but got a call two hours later that it was ready to be picked up. I also got advice on a small repair job(wood top had a slight split) that certainly saved me money and additional time. Excellent staff and pricing. I will use them again.

Although I want to like Fazio’s, I don’t enjoy visiting the store. The last time I was there, I intended to buy some strings and look seriously at guitars, and I ended up doing neither– I just walked out. Their guitar selection, while good, seems weighted towards one-offs which are hard to evaluate. The employees are busy, and there seem to be plenty of them, but they are always multi-tasking and not particularly helpful.

The staff are friendly and helpful. I went in not really knowing just what I needed and they took good care of me and made sure I wasn’t spending money I didn’t need to spend. Also, they seemed to have a huge selection of guitars.

This has to be the best guitar shop in St. Louis. I mean it, no holds bar, best shop. I was shopping at Guitar Center forever, and I always hated the stuffiness of the place. I am not exactly, great, on the guitar. Even though I have been playing for years, I constantly slack off and end up needing to go back to my beginner tabs to really get a handle on what I’m doing again. Whenever I used to pick up these books or when I first started playing(I’m self taught), I always got attitude at these shops. I mean, you have to start somewhere right? So what if I have questions about the best strings for my guitar… not everyone has been playing since they were 6… Regardless, even when I ask sort of dumb questions at Fazio’s, they don’t look at me like I have eight heads. They answer me honestly, and they are always crazy friendly and excited to help me pick stuff out. As far as picking stuff out, holy mother of pearl. The selection here is unbelievable. They have so many instruments, tabs, amps… you name it. They have everything and in nearly ever price range. This place is totally worth the drive to far West County to pick up your guitar and musical needs. I am certainly a HUGE fan.

For me, it just doesn’t get any better than Fazio’s. I’ve been shopping and taking lessons here since I was ten. Mike Fazio, the owner, is one of the nicest people you are ever going to meet, and is nearly always to be found at his store. The staff are always knowledgeable and friendly, and range from clean cut to rocker. The selection is always amazing, and the new location has really given them the ability to strut their stuff as far as the selection goes. I was gob smacked when I went into their new place and saw how huge it is! This place has it all, from guitars to guitar parts, from mandolins to cellos — no matter your level of expertise or your instrument of choice, you will find what you need here. Their lessons have become much more extensive, and now feature a variety of workshops and jam sessions.
