Really the only downside here was they played the music SODAMNLOUD. This is a legit menu like you would find in Italy with some American style Olive Garden type-y dishes.

Awesome pasta! Love that they have a ton of patience for custom orders(hold this, extra that, etc.). Never eaten there(always takeout) but there always seem to be folks there. Guys working there are always really friendly!

Great family-owned restaurant. Owner Carlo is extremely nice and friendly as is the entire staff. The food is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. I eat here often.

I love this place so much. I come here way too much. First off the service is great! The busboys are very friendly and attentive. The guys behind the counter are friendly and fast too. The pizza is why I come. Every Monday they do a $ 7 large cheese pizza special, with extra toppings $ 1.90 a piece. I just get plain cheese because it’s my favorite. Sometimes I just order a large pizza for myself even if I don’t finish it because for the price… why wouldn’t I? The pizza is delicious here. My favorite part is the crust. I was born and raised in NY and was never able to find a pizza place that was similar. This one is pretty close! I love how the pizza isn’t too greasy, it’s just right. Not only is the pizza excellent but the pasta dishes are delicious too. I love italian food, pasta, pizza, and pretty much all forms of carbs, and this place has everything I love under one roof. Their tomato cream sauce is delicious and the pastas taste authentic and fresh! Most pasta dishes come with a house salad and garlic bread. The prices are reasonable, especially for the amount of food you get! Most pasta dishes, and calzones run about 9 or 10 bucks, and pizzas are around the same price! Love this place!

This is a terrific authentic Italian Pizza restaurant. Food is much more than pizza joint food, although the pizza is excellent… very much like a NY Pizza place. We often get pizza for take out.(How many times can you say pizza?) The other dinner dishes are best when you dine in. LOVE the chicken Piccata and Marsala… very generous potions. My husband and I usually split one of those entrees and get an additional salad. Their house salad with house dressing is tops! If you want a salad for a meal… then the Italian Salad is a good bet. They have daily specials. When we go on half price chicken entrée night, we buy one, get the next chicken entrée at half price. Then do the doggie bag thing. Ordering at the register and paying before you eat makes things move fast and smooth. And tipping? They bring you your food, but so much of this is counter ordering that we always just put cash in the tip jar. Still 15%. Lights are too bright for any kind of intimate dinner. During the Spring and Fall, early diners are often kids sports teams, so wait till after 7:30pm if you like a bit of quiet. They have a very good selection of wines(especially Italian). Order a white wine by the glass(it’s chilled) or a red wine by the bottle. You can cork it and take it home. They tend to store their red wine bottles for pouring under the heat! I have been known to ask them to open a new bottle of red wine for me just to pour a glass, however. And they happily comply. A good variety of cold, bottled beer too. Fountain drinks, booths, friendly service, economical and very good food. My kinda place!

I like this place, reminds me of pizza places in New York. They have a nice 2 Slice with drink special for $ 6.99. Always fast service. The slices had a crispy crust, were super hot, and just the right combo of cheese and sauce. No issue of oil dripping all over your hand. The menu has just about everything on it, and parking is plentiful. Good place for a casual bite, and always full of families.

Not sure about the high ratings for this place. It was«mehhhh» at best. Correction, the pizza was mehhhhh. I wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. I judge pizza by how good it tastes when it is cold. This pizza has a very buttery taste when cold. When it is hot, it is okay. The crust is crisp and has flavor. Conversely, I had a meatball sub that was outstanding. Just the perfect amount of sauce with plenty of cheese and meatballs. The bread was very fresh too. I highly recommend the sub.

I’ve tried the pizza here several times and find it ok. The restaurant is clean and you can buy by the slice. They have beer too.

LOVE this place. I am a pizza snob. SNOB. Grew up on NY pizza which I consider to be the best. But I do love this pizza. The staff is very nice and accommodating. A recent visit and our order got screwed up… delivered to the wrong table. They were so nice… and very sorry. Got our order quickly, threw in some freebies… apologized profusely.

Stopped here after a soccer game nearby. It is hidden away in a quite shopping area. If not for Unilocal,we would not have found the place. Our soccer tournament game got moved nearly 80 miles from the hotel we are staying, instead of nearby fields and everyone was very hungry after the game. Not to mention freezing to death from the cold. But, I digress. We went in and ordered our food and drinks and grabbed a booth to get warm while waiting for our food to arrive. While waiting, we’ve found out that this is a small family owned restaurant. The staff were very nice and the food came out very quickly. We started with a calamari fritti and when this came out, the first thing we noticed was the size of the portion. It was much larger than what we normally see at other restaurants. They were lightly breaded and tender. The warm sauce, which was more on the buffalo sauce than marinara was very good. We also ordered chicken alfredo, with the sauce not too thick or too thin. Rigatoni aburessco which was really good also. The final order was Scilian deep dish pizza with pepperoni and needless to say this was also very tasty. Yes, there were a lot of food for only four of us, but there weren’t much leftovers. Maybe, they were all so good because we were all so hungry. Of course, that is a possibility. Nah, I don’t think so! You may be asking, if they were all so good, why didn’t I give them five stars? I could, but I won’t. I will have to reserve that for an exceptional place. After all, I don’t want cheapen the rating and believe the four star is very adequate. I am only sorry this place is so far from my home. We are playing in Annapolis tomorrow and yes, it is even further from the hotel than today. I am wondering, if, we will find another hidden gem. One can only hope, right?

This place is a miss on everything. Their pizza tastes like cardboard and their calzones have a similar flavoring– plus burned. I’ll give it a star for their tiramasu and another for their service-but thats it.

Wonderful pasta dishes! Will be back and try what looked like great pizza. Quality surprising for a place that looks just like a strip mall pizza joint!

Nice piping hot thin crust pizza — hits the spot. But, say no to the meat calzone — looks like a glob of rubbery cheese and mince meat. Service was non-existent, which I guess is typical for this place. It’s not fancy. But, then again you’re not paying for fancy. They seem to cater better for take outs.

Best cheese pizza! We have been to several pizza places and this is the closest to New York pizza that we’ve had. Great cheese, sauce, and nice crust. This is our new pizza spot. You can’t beat their Monday special either.

I don’t know, maybe the pizza is the thing to get here. I have been twice and have not been impressed either time. Last week I got the special: salad, rigatoni with bolognese sauce and garlic bread. The salad was just kind of pitiful. Very small, runny dressing, completely uninspired. The rigatoni wasn’t bad and wasn’t particularly good– it was passable. The garlic bread was under seasoned and just meh. I don’t know– it just seems one hundred percent«okay» to me. Not in any way a stand out. Much better Italian can be found in the area.

Trattoria is a great family style restaurant. It’s very solid, authentic Italian food. Highly recommend any of the daily/weekly specials. My kids love the spaghetti and we all enjoy the pizza. Great atmosphere, great food what more could you ask?

We recently were talking about places in Columbia that we missed since we left. Trattoria was #1 on multiple lists. Serving some of the best pizza around MD in a family friendly environment is this gem in Dorsey Hall. The owners and employees are very friendly and clearly passionate about soccer since it’s always playing on the tv’s. They offer daily specials and have a nice dessert case too with Italian Ices if you’re looking for a treat. Miss you guys!

It’s gotta be something when folks from the NY/NJ area tell you that this is the best pizza they can find away from home. And they say it with a smile! Having traveled through that neck of the woods, I can definitely agree, this is the best in the area if you like that Big Apple style… and who doesn’t? Their regular Italian dishes are out of this world, too! Last time, I had the lasagna, which was extremely flavorful and quite sizable. The sauce wasn’t 100% to my taste, but it was very good all the same. The crust on the pizza was a tad tough, but we also were there late last visit. When I lived in Columbia years ago, I hit this place up almost every Monday night for their $ 5 large cheese special. Nowadays, it’s up to $ 7, which is still amazing given the amount of pizza you get! You can easily feed two people(probably four, really) for that much! It’s a great deal, one you should take advantage of if you live in the area. We made a special trip up there just to try it again, and I’m so glad we did. Ah, how I miss you, Trattoria…
