The worst dining experience I’ve ever had here. And we arrived before the six o’clock crowd. Higher«weekend pricing» included shrimp and lamb, but no soup, no fortune cookies, serve yourself rice, egg rolls(when they had some) and fried won ton. $ 46 for three adults. Messy, but that’s caused by sloppy diners. Low staffed, could not keep up with diners. Only two cooks but sixteen people in line. Meats and veggies were not plentiful. Several we saw left mad because they could not get seconds without a 30 minute wait because of the long line. Probably not returning.

This place shouldn’t even get a star. Service was poor and the ladies there had an attitude. Not to mention food everywhere and no one cleaning it up. At one point a guy tossed the extra noodle back in the noodle tray. So not right. Amazed that they allow people to smash the food in a bowl. Who knows where the guy in front of me has had his hands. Never again will I go here and I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Not even as a joke. Very sad!!!

I am a skeptic and am also VERY picky about what and where I eat. Today, 01/08/2016, my younger brother William, talked me into trying the Mongolian Barbecue restaurant on Laguna Boulevard. I must say that I was nervous as he described filling a bowl with your choice of various sliced and refrigerated meat, then you smash it down into your bowl to make room for the noodles, etc… I walked in and the lady taking our money was very polite and showed us where to begin. After loading up my bowl, I was intrigued by the way the two cooks went about preparing our meals. So far, so good, I was impressed and the food smelled great. When we finally got to sit down and try the mouth watering dishes, I was ecstatic! The food was very well cooked and was incredibly delicious. I’m long winded but let me just say, I will return soon. 5 stars from me. Thomas M. Fairgood, newly converted Mongolian Barbecue fan.

Horrible experience all around. They were out of a majority of the ingredients, including noodles and egg rolls. All varieties of the meat were almost empty. Restaurant was filthy. The counter where you prepare your bowls was so dirty and literally covered with dropped food. The final straw was the hair I found in my food. Never returning.

They are the only Mongolian bbq place I’ve been to that have sausage and I LOVE the sausage. Service is always mediocre at best and no one working really cares if the customers are happy or the restaurant is clean. I only kept going because of the sausage and location. Now, I probably won’t be back. They ran out of noodles at NOON! How does that even happen. And they didn’t tell anyone and left customers standing in line confused for at least 5 minutes waiting. I then asked for my money back and got it, but there was obviously a wait for that also. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place to people. Give your money to Jimmy next door. He’ll take much better care of you and could probably even whip up something similar to what you wanted next door.

I mean if you’re being held hostage in Elk Grove and the ransom is Mongolian barbecue I guess. Otherwise«just no». Some of vegetables taste for lack of better word weird. I like how they put the most voluminous cheap stuff first and then the expensive dense water chestnuts and corn are last. Yes I would like one bowl full of spinach and garlic for ten dollars please. The egg rolls are literally just cabbage. And not good cabbage but nasty greasy cabbage. Well there’s no such thing as good cabbage I guess. I digress. They are also cold and generally everything an egg roll should not be. Two stars just because it was edible.

Good selection of fresh produce and the standard selection of frozen meats, including beef, turkey, chicken and pork. The wok they have is extra large, perhaps the largest in the region. The have a dining area with a number of seats, including booths by the windows. If you get your food to-go, they will not provide a container for the sweet and sour sauce. My one big complaint is that they place peanuts in an area that encourages people to add it before it goes on the wok. For people with peanut allergies, this could be a death sentence. You can ask them to clean the wok, but it is always a risk, to enjoy some Mongolian barbecue. I would give them four stars if they move the peanuts.

Food was ok. Could not rate the egg rolls, they«ran out»…How do you run out of egg rolls? Any how staff was not friendly. Not sure if I would come back.

I’ve never been disappointed with the food, and the price is reasonable. They have a large variety of sauces that you get to add yourself, so it’s easy to make your food exactly how you want. The only downside is that the food area is always messy, and the staff isn’t friendly at all.

I just want to say that the staff is seriously RUDE! The only reason why we even came here was because it was my brother’s birthday and he loves this place. This is my first and last time I would come here. They charged my son for the all you can eat also! I’ve never heard of that before. The lady at the cashier told me he’s being charged because«if he can hold a bowl, he can eat.» My son ate half an eggroll. I basically paid 6 bucks for half an eggroll. Imo, the meat tasted slightly old. I couldn’t even finish my bowl. I can’t comment on the rice and the eggrolls as it didn’t look appetizing at all and looks as if it’s been left out all day.

Second time here… and the last. Lunchtime and they are pretty much out of everything. Only meat that wasn’t almost gone was the turkey, we waited for awhile to see if they’d refill any other meats and veggies, nope. Also egg rolls were stale and soggy, and the workers just aren’t friendly or helpful. I’ll be happy to drive a further distance for better quality food.

I hate coming to this restaurant but lucky for them, my boyfriend likes the big portions. we came in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. they don’t leave out bowls on the counter anymore so you can’t smash your food up to make it fit. lol(sadly my boyfriend was one of those) when we walked through the line, there was no beef, needles or bean sprout available. how can you not have any noodles available?! that’s the main item! when we asked for more products, it took 10 – 15 minutes before it even came out, so annoying. luckily they did have plenty of vegetables out but who knows how old they were. I’m sure they’ve been laying out for awhile considering the carrots were all brown and nasty. I also wish they offered a vegetarian choice other than tofu. obviously tofu is the cheapest way to go, but shrimp would be nice too. once I piled my bowl as high as I could, I went for the sauces. you can’t sample them but I did smell them. the house sauce had a delicious aroma so I went with that and some chilies to make it flavorful. digging into my meal, my noodles were bland. I don’t know what happened to the sauce or the chillies because it tasted like plastic. luckily they had chili sauce on the side, once I added two huge spoonfuls, it tasted a lot better but way too oily. they also serve rice, eggrolls and wonton wrappers. the rice bowl is half full, the wontons are too crunchy as if they’d been frying for too long and the eggrolls are only filled with cabbage, how cheap. they also precook all of these and leave them in a warmer near the cook who makes the noodles… no wonder they’re nasty. from now on, I’ll send my boyfriend by himself and opt out for better tasting and quality food.

We come here all the time. It is a wonderful way to eat healthy. They give rice, soup and egg rolls too! I love this place! They have made a lot of money off of me.

I’ve been here a few times over the years, I was introduced to it by a friend and have been coming back with family ever since. My cousin doesn’t like the wait, but ever time I’ve been here there was no wait, or we’ve gotten there just as the rush was about to start! all in all good stuff, if you go before 4:30 you can only use 1 bowl, if you go after 4:30 you can use 2 bowl to make your meal. This works out pretty good because 2 bowls condenses down to one bowl after it’s been cooked.

I’m not sure why this place has such low ratings because I enjoyed my experience thoroughly. My friends and I were greeted immediately. We came for lunch and each bowl was $ 7.99. You can pile your bowl as high as you want with whatever you want, and I suggest you do because once it is cooked, the food shrinks. I absolutely love customizing my food lol. As I was going down the line of ingredients, an older man was refilling the veggies. He even said hi to me, and we all know how infamous Asian restaurants are for not having great customer service. I got super stuck on the sauce portion because I couldn’t sample the sauces. I recommend following the suggestions provided by the restaurant that are posted on the glass in front of the sauces. The fun part is watching them cook your bowl! There’s a huge skillet at the end of the line, with up to 3 different people cooking customers’ food. And yes, they do clean it off after each customer. We couldn’t finish our food, so we asked for to go boxes. We didn’t know that inside the boxes were a scoop of fried rice, a mini egg roll, and two wontons. The egg rolls and wontons were amazingly crispy. I definitely recommend trying this place out! It’s affordable, customizable, and yummy. I anticipate returning very soon!

I was unsure of whether I wanted to give this restaurant a try or not because of the reviews but I came by anyways, since the thought of Mongolian BBQ sounded good. It really wasn’t that bad, the experience. The server was very friendly. She checked up on us, refilled our water, and took away finished bowls. The cooks weren’t the friendliest, didn’t smile much, but got the job done. The frying process of the noodles with the big long chopsticks was fun to watch and was a great experience. The food was great. I love how I was able to customize everything! A mix of veggies, meats, noodles, and seasonings. Your food will taste how you make it out to be. I go off of the spicy sauce recipe listed on the sign at the frying station. A mix of house sauce, teriyaki sauce, cooking wines, vinegar, chili oil, and sesame oil. Meats include beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and sausage links. Veggies include spinach, cabbage, bean sprouts, peppers, corn, and much more. I just mix all meats and all my favorite veggies together and voila!

As many other reviewers here, I have sadly decided review day is here. Mongolian bbq in general is so good! And this place tastes great(the noodles, veggies, meat)…the rice, soup, and what often have tasted like stale wontons, leave a lot to be desired. If we were rating on rudeness, lack of cleanliness, tidiness, and making you feel like they are doing you a favor being open… they’d get 5 stars! Oh and air conditioning… please, someone tell them to turn it on if it’s hot outside! Every time I have gone, the same lady greets me and asks how many bowls I want(if I’m with family), my drink… where I’d like to sit… with the most inconvenienced attitude. No smile. No warmth or friendliness. I understand this does not come naturally to some. Select someone to be front of the house whom it does… and who tidies up the restaurant when no one is eating. The last time I was there, the ladies were sitting at the table on their smart phones playing games… while I saw dust on the blinds and dirt caked on the windows. If this is what is visible to the customers… what does it look like in the back? Why have I continued to visit? I keep hoping for improvement. That health and safety would come and clean up the place and management would change or the staff would would get an overhaul. Until all of these things change, I won’t be back. When I was leaving the restaurant, there was a nice family who even opened the door for me… I wanted to tell them not to waste their money. The main course is good, yet the atmosphere, staff, atmosphere needs a wake up call. And someone who cares to read their Unilocal reviews… or hey, learn about them!

For a second, I was thinking about joining the rest of the crowd and giving this business a 1 star while talking about how bad their service is but yesterdays experience wasn’t so bad. I’ve experienced bad service here like everyone else but, I come back and give them chances to do things right and I really have no complaints. This is one of my favorite meals. Straightforward and delicious. I love veggie egg rolls so it’s nice that they give you one for each person plus some wonton chips to enjoy with your Mongolian barbecue. I still don’t understand why they have barbecue in their name. I recently eliminated carbs completely so I’ve been here a lot to eat everything but the noodles and it definitely hits the spot. Id also like to add that the employees have been nicer than in the past. Maybe they read their Unilocal reviews?

I will not be returning here. Staff is unfriendly. No hint of a smile or a thank you. The veggies were not fresh. Which makes the $ 22 I spent on lunch for two overpriced. The chairs have holes in the vinyl upholstery all through the dining area. Nasty crusties on the walls next to my face where I am eating. Dust bunnies must come here to be bred cause I have never seen so many! Yuck! I will never come back. Sanitation is apparently not important to this staff.
