Jimmy’s Superb Subs and More

This place used to be closer to my high school (Sheldon high) and everybody would go there after school because they have such a large selection. When people ask me about this place I usually recommend it because everybody will be please. I do not even think I could review all the different types of foods they have. From Asian to Indian to Mexican to Italian to Thai to American to etc…
My friend Yusuf was craving Indian good and Mexican food at the same time so we decided to come to jimmy’s. So he ordered a burrito and also butter chicken. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich that my mother actually told me to try. I also tried their lemonade and the Italian soda which tasted a lot like an authentic Italian restaurant beverage. His customer service is also on point because he is very friendly and remembers his usuals. Some people might find it odd because they do not specialize in a specific type of food, but I would consider Jimmy a jack of all trade in the kitchen. I am glade he moved out of vintage park and is now on Laguna blvd, I am sure he is getting way more business.

So sad my husband and I didn’t find this place sooner! Literally anything you get on the menu is delicious! And the menu is very extensive. Definitely our go to for sandwich sand burgers!

I like Jimmy’s because it’s better than Subway and other sandwich ships I have been too. I usually get the veggie sandwich and when I do try other sandwiches it is kinda salty but it is still good to eat. This place is good to go for a good sandwich.

Yum yum yum yum yum!!! Finger licking good! Jimmy sure knows how to make a good sub. Everytime my husband asks me what I want to eat. the first thing that jumps to mind is my all time favorite spicy korean sub from Jimmy’s. From the soft bread to the perfectly oiled meat, to even the lettuce is to die for. If only Jimmy delivered to my house my dreams would be fullfilled. But ummm. probably my gut would be too. Haha!

Jimmy’s is one of my wife and I’s favorite lunch spots so we thought it would be a great place to have a fun rehearsal dinner for our wedding. Jimmy and his crew did an amazing time taking care of our group and were kind enough to shut down early for us so we could have the restaurant to ourselves.
We were able to get some of the orders in to them ahead of time to help them expedite them and to minimize the wait times for our guests. They were even kind enough to throw in miniature ice cream sundaes for everyone.
Jimmy’s is cleaned and well maintained. The service is always friendly and personable. They have a vast menu so everyone can always find something they will be happy eating. The food is always fresh and tastes great. We haven’t tried anything yet we haven’t loved.
We can’t thank Jimmy and the crew enough and we will see you soon for lunch!

Look no further for good food, and meet Mr. Jimmy has to be happiest man you’ll meet.

Menu is a little overwhelming at first, but overall good food at an affordable price. Fries are really crispy and well cooked. I ordered the Tuna Melt and I recommend it to anyone who loves seafood.

I have lived in Elk Grove my whole life and I never heard of this place until recently. I tried it for the first time today and the menu had so many options. I got the spicy Philly chicken combo for around 9 $ comes with a drink and fries. The sandwich was kind of small but really delicious and the fries were okay. I definitely will be back to try something else!

Upon entering you are welcomed with smiles. Awesome customer service and food.
I got the Korean cheese steak and it was bomb. The bread was soft, meat was seasoned well, overall great flavor. Burrito was mediocre and the chicken tiki masala didnt really taste like real chicken tiki masala but it definitely tasted good. Great prices also!

I randomly came here with a friend who lives in Elk Grove for lunch and honestly didn’t really know what to expect. But, wow I was so pleasantly surprised! It’s a cute mom and pop shop with a ton of loyal frequent customers, and I totally know why now. There isn’t a huge amount of seating here, but the quality of the food and the friendliness of the owners totally makes up for that.
There menu is quite vast with burgers, cheese steaks, sandwiches, and more. I got the Avocado burger, and it was hands down the best that I have ever had. It was about a medium size comparable to an In n’ Out burger. I think they butter the buns too because they were so crispy! The patty itself was also perfect, not too thin and not too thick. The whole burger was just so flavorful. I will definitely have to come back with my bf to try their cheesesteaks as well because that’s his favorite (my friends ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and Mushroom Cheesesteak, and they loved it).

Apparently my boyfriend has been going here for years and I never would have been able to try this place if it weren’t for him! The food is cheap and delicious and the menu is so diverse. Who would have thought to try a chicken strip sandwich?
Chicken strips were bomb, although very simple. I’m a basic person when it comes to my food and a fiend for chicken strips and fries. Jimmy is such a cool guy too! Go in, say hi, and eat. ;)
*Place is kind of small, but seats open up pretty quick. We usually do takeout though!

I actually really liked this place and it took quite a long time for me to finally come in here and try it.
This is located in the same Plaza as red Robin and petsmart and sprouts! So lots of parking with no hassle.
I knew I wanted a good hot sandwich so myself and my partner decided on a grilled turkey and a grilled turkey ham.
I personally loved it. The sandwich had the crunch I wanted and the mayo added really good flavor to the whole thing. And for only 10 bucks I was happy. I also really liked the place for the huge variety of offerings.
Sandwiches of all type, rice dishes and Indian food that all looked really good. Our service was fine and the man who took my order was friendly enough. I can see why people may say that their service wasn’t as good if the place was busy, but considering it wasn’t for us we were pretty satisfied.
They have a new customer from me! I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area!

This place is delicious for lunch and dinner, haven’t experienced breakfast et so I don’t know lol.
The bread is always fresh, their smiles are always fresh and they make the best darn perfectly cooked onion rings I’ve ever had! My son loves their salami and cheese and I typically get a turkey avocado.
Best part of all it’s inexpensive! Or cost effective is the term I love to use.
I think for two sandwiches, onion rings, and one soda was about $ 14.75! To get a meal less than $ 12 a person is great in my books and the regular size is PLENTY!

After reading the reviews, the place sounded really good so thought to give it a shot.
As we walked in, all the tables were full so we had to wait and even wait to order the food. The owner kept on walking in and out without greeting us. When we were about to give our order, he walked past us again to fill up the ice in the soda machine.
I ordered the teriyaki chicken sub and my husband got the Philly chicken sub. Two subs, fries and two drinks total came to about $ 20.
The place inside is small and so we had to wait for a table. The food (sub sandwich) was OK. I don’t think I will be returning.
I got some chicken skin/​fat part in my sub which threw it off for me. Flavor was very bland and the sandwiches were very sloppy and messy to eat… and too much mayo.

I actually been here a few times and had a few over rice dishes but never wrote a review on this place. The over rice dishes are really pretty good but it has too little protein and mostly veggies and rice. That’s my only complaint. So from now on when I order an over rice dish, I will just double the protein. They give way too much rice to try to fill you up. I’m Asian but I really can’t eat that much rice all in one sitting. Don’t want a fat gut. The price isn’t too bad when you double the protein. I don’t mind paying more to get what I want. I’ve seen other Unilocal food pics of this place and the subs, Mexican and Indian dishes looks pretty darn good too. I will try something else next time I come here.

Today happened to be one of those rainy, chilling cold, dark and dreary days. Winter is upon us and Christmas is soon approaching ! On days like this, the thought of something hot and delicious in your belly sounds pretty dang good !
Luckily for us, we happen to have a buy one get one coupon from a local restaurant that expires at the end of the year. Can’t let this baby go to waste ! «JIMMY’S SUPERB SUBS & MORE». They are located at 8259 Laguna Blvd. in Elk Grove California. They happen to be in the same shopping complex as Sprout Grocery, Sports Authority, and Lazy Boy Furniture.
When I walked in, Jimmy was there on the counter to greet me ! He is a very Happy Go Lucky Guy ! Always smiling and laughing! The place is very clean and has plenty of seating for a large number of guests. They do have a small flat screen in the restaurant but no Wi-​Fi.

I had an itching for some Kung Pao Chicken over rice !(Tender pieces of Chicken, mixed with bell peppers, onions, carrots, peanuts, in a spicy sauce with the right amount of heat !)Just what the doctor ordered!
This restaurant is family owned and operated since 2001 ! No need to dress up here. Very casual. Open 7 days a week ! Great food, friendly service, prices are also quite reasonable and plenty of parking. Well worth a visit! ! Like the old saying says «TRY IT-YOU’LL LIKE IT !»

This spot is probably one of the only few in elk grove where you can get a rice plate for $ 5.99 the burgers come in a sandwich form though. I only had the California burger, but my girlfriend was really disappointed in it. I would have to come back and try the other rice plates

Family owned business that runs super smooth! The food is delicious and Jimmy’s smile is inviting. First time around we tried the fried chicken sandwich and spicy Korean BBQ cheesesteak. Both were bomb. I preferred the fried chicken sandwich. It was super crunchy and super moist! We were debating on going to chick fila but this beat it. (Although it’s probably unhealthier)
Prices are reasonable. $ 5 – 9 sandwiches. $ 10 combo specials that vary daily. The menu is also super varied. I have no idea if the got one super chef or multiple back there cooking American, Chinese, Indian food. Amazing!

Service; great very personable and helpful when ordering. Friendly attitudes and nice to have the owner getting to know everyone.
Wait time wasn’t long to get our food. We ordered Kung pao chicken over rice, a turkey ham and cheese sandwich and a side of wings.
My bf had the Kung pao he said it was just ok. It smelled really good to me but I didn’t taste. I had the turkey ham and cheese it was fresh tasting but a bit salty. Maybe cause part of the sandwich toppings includes salt and ham is already salty. Plus there was so much mayo on my sandwich At times I just had a mouth full. Yuck. Nonetheless I expected my wings to be bigger than what I received. They were good but had no spice. I thought they would be spicy because they are called spicy hot wings. I still liked them.
I would probably visit again and try something different they have everything for everyone which is a good thing for groups.

A really extensive menu with a lot of variety!
I had the hot and spicy chicken sandwich which was really good. The bread and sauce on it definitely made it amazing and I would get this again but I’m gonna try and branch out next time and try the Indian curry dishes! I’m a huge fan of Indian food so I hope o won’t be disappointed.
The sandwiches are very fairly priced because the two sandwiches I ordered came to a total of $ 13 which isn’t too bad! It doesn’t look like very much on the outside but the service and food was A1 lol

Actually my HB had been here a couple times already but it was my first time as I’m not counting when I was here before it was an Hawaiian restaurant that I thought was good? It could have been a struggle to stay afloat with the many eateries around.
Jimmy’s restaurant is mainly a counter order to go place but there are a few tables located inside if you wish to eat right away. The huge reason we were here is to use one of our coupons from the Z-​best book. It was one of those spend twenty dollars and get five dollars off. Even the gal who took our order mentioned it was huge discount.
We stood outside reading the menu and deciphering what to eat. You know being a Gemini that it is tough to make up my mind as I can change it instantly in a split second.
Those darn twins who are playing games with me! Well if you have seen the menu you would understand with the huge conglomeration of choices there are!!!
Finally I made up my mind. Walked in and ordered Kung pao chicken, spicy chicken wings, mushroom burger and the chicken curry/​chicken tikka for our family member too.
I read that on Mondays Jimmy’s restaurant closes at four so we basically were here a couple hours prior to closing. I don’t like to come prior to a restaurant closing. I feel like we would be rushing them and the quality may be not up to par.
The restaurant itself is clean and bathrooms were decent.
Our order came out pretty fast considering all that I ordered. It was brought out by Jimmy himself directly to our table that we hung out at.
The food was quite tasty especially those spicy wings were my fave. They weren’t too spicy that both my HB and I wimps that we are could even handle them! We like spicy with mild to medium heat. Not jalapeño hot!!!
However the mushroom burger was humongous and yummy but went right through me:(I’ve been told I have sensitive tummy which I basically inherited from my parents! (The reason for the one star deduction).
Our daughter enjoyed curry/​tikka dish! So glad I ordered the right stuff. We will be back to use the other coupon of course:)

This restaurant is kind of misleading. It’s a well-​rounded restaurant that serves hot and cold subs as well as fish and chips, burgers, Chinese food and Indian food!
I tried the hot California chicken sandwich with a side of fries and macaroni salad. The California sandwich was nicely warmed with toasted «sub» bread, grilled chicken, avocado and fixings. There were big chunks of avocado which made me very happy. The sandwich was nice and filling but did not have a stand-​out flavor. I guess the star of this sandwich is the avocado.
The fries were freshly made because they were hot and crispy. I almost burnt my tongue because they were just out of the fryer! They weren’t greasy and nicely salted. I actually really liked the macaroni salad. It was a well-​proportioned blend of macaroni pasta and peppers. I could have just had a large container of that to myself.
I also got their chicken curry with white rice as takeout. Even though this dish has Indian flavors, this curry actually tastes like my mom’s! I may have teared up a tiny bit after a few bites. It was like comfort food from home. It is a milder curry (even though I asked for medium hotness) and there were no other fixings with the chicken. It was still a great dish for me. Heavy, hearty but satisfying.
Jimmy was pleasant, friendly and made sure I was taken care of. I witnessed people going up to him and say «hey Jimmy!» so people are coming back enough to know him!
