Having worked for Raley’s for over 30 years, I have seen Raley’s grow as a company In so many ways. For instance in their coffee café’s. For many years Sacramento based Java City Coffee Company serviced their cafes. With time you will always find change ! As a business if you don’t change with the times, you will lose market share and possibly go out of business. That is why they have partnered with Peet’s Coffee Co. to service and train Raley’s employees in their café. Employees are trained to make all the different drinks that Peets has to offer. From mochas to Coffee & Tea, Espresso Beverage, Latte, and their seasonal favorites like their«Peppermint Mocha. Eggnog Latte, and Salted Caramel Macchiato ! This particular Peet’s offer free Wi-Fi for their customers. They have a fairly large flat screen in the café with plenty of tables and chair indoors as well as outdoors. Bike parking is also available outside. They carry a combination of Peet’s and Raley’s desserts in their display case in the café. Trying to accommodate early commuters going to work, Peet’s is now open at 5 am in the morning! I personally enjoy coming here after the store opens up which is 6am in the morning. I can get my coffee plus have access to all the other departments in the store. I can go to the bakery department for that special donut or to their deli department for a scrumptious breakfast burrito! Peet’s Coffee in a Raleys Store, A perfect combination like peanut butter and jelly! ! I usually find the lines fairly short, very friendly employees, and plenty of parking. A perfect place to hang out doing your homework or just relaxing after a long day at work ! A solid 3 stars in my book!

This particular coffee shop is inside Raley’s grocery store. I’ve walked by it a million times shopping here or when I am heading to the RedBox machine. Lol. Sometimes theres a ton of people here drinking coffee and surfing the internet. Sometimes I just see people drinking their coffee with their shopping cart in the store. I haven’t really stopped in until the other day. I had the basic coffee. Nothing special. Just needed something to warm me up from the cold. I will be back to try other drinks soon. I can then determine how much I like this place. Lol. Oooooh… the guy who helped me was nice.

Peets allows people on laptops to buy 1 drink then… sit around for the entire day! Why is this fair? I wanted bought coffee and wanted to sit with a family member — and not by yourself on a computer — but ! I went in today and all the tables were occupied by people on laptops. I brought it to the attention of a Peets worker behind the counter. He explained to me with an attitude, that Peets wants people to buy coffee and sit around for as long as possible. Really? I also pointed out that there were many cords crisscrossed on the floor which is a tripping hazard. They need to limit the amount of time people tie-up tables… to be fair to everyone, otherwise it’s a substitute dorm.

Typically, Peet’s isn’t my first choice for a coffee stop. However, today I was shopping at Raleys so I wanted to grab a drink to accompany my grocery shopping trip. They have a nice selection of baked goods at the front counter. I’ve tried their ginger snap cookie before — soft and chewy, so good! And I am normally not a fan of ginger in my baked goods! I would like to try their other cookies and scones in the future. The lady behind the counter was very nice and didn’t rush me to make my order. However she did look a bit confused while she was making my drink — a small vanilla green tea latte. The entire cup was full of ice… a huge pet peeve of mine! I noticed all of the mainstream coffee shops do this with their iced drinks :( The one thing I appreciated — they mix the matcha tea powder thoroughly! Everytime I order it at Starbucks, I’m left with a cup of milk and chunky tea powder. However at Peet’s, they mix it in the blender, which unfortunately caused it to become foamy. I basically drank a cup(of ice) and green tea foam. I would recommend them using a shaker or a good ol fashioned spoon! I guess for now I’ll have to choose my battles: foamy and creamy at Peet’s, or chunky and powdery at Starbucks. This location probably won’t be my go-to spot for coffee, but its location inside Raley’s is very convenient for when I want to make one stop instead of two!

I’ve been a regular at this Raley’s for quite some time now, but I’ve never pictured a Peet’s here before. The lady behind the counter told me they’ve been here for approximately six years now; I guess I don’t look to my left that often, at least whenever I’m entering Raley’s. I got one of their Ginger Twinkle Cookie($ 1.99) — ginger bread taste(check), twinkle in my eye as I was eating it(check), chewilicious/scrumdiliyiliyumptious bite(check). Their Coconut Mocha Freddo also caught my eye. I coudn’t resist, so I got a cold medium. «Rich Dutch cocoa and tropical coconut» .ehh, it was okay; I’ve had better coconut-y coffee-ish blends. Great customer service. The lady who helped me was quick and personable. It looked like she had a permanent smile on her face :)
