What a disgrace to call this Indian food. Please go to another Indian restaraunt and see what a real samosa looks and taste like. And besides that the rest of the food. Omg this is not Indian food it’s so sad

I’ve been here several times and always get the butter chicken. I like it because it’s sweet. Their vegetable samosas are good as well. Give them a try if you want something fast, hot and ready!

This place is okay. I decided to visit this place after tennis since it was on the way home. I heard it was counter service which is good because I didn’t feel like going to a sit down restaurant. When I walked in everyone was really nice and the food was pre-made so you can pick and choose what you wanted. Unfortunately, I wanted spinach or eggplant and they didnt have it so I went with cauliflower and the spicy chicken tikka marsala. The chicken didn’t seem very spicy to me and tasted okay. They gave me a to go container and you got to choose one veggie, one meat and it came with rice and half a piece of naan. Everything here was just average but I don’t think I will be back since there are better indian food places elsewhere in Sac. I do like how everything is already cooked under heat lamps in front so it makes it fast if you want to run in and run out. The service here was nice and friendly.

Came in by myself on a Friday night around 8pm. 2 other people were waiting for their order and 2 people were ordering after me. I ordered a buttered chicken and chicken curry which was part of the 2 combo item that I wanted to try. The food was prepared in a carry-out style restaurant where the food is already cook and ready to be served which was kept warm via heating lamps and steamers. Even though it was not cooked«fresh» it still tasted good. I guess my taste buds did not agree with me but the buttered chicken kind of tasted weird to me, and usually I do not complain on any type of chicken no matter how differently prepared it was. I do not know if it was a misnomer but I did not taste any butter flavor to it. However the chicken curry was great. I expected a little bit more curry sauce and for the sauce to be consistent, but in the end the the chicken curry looked like it was cooked in oil/lard and not curry sauce. However both items tasted ok. Also for the 2 item combo it was listed there was a choice of rice, nan bread, and split, but unfortunately I was not given a choice because I was not asked so they just gave me both rice and bread by deafult. Restaurant itself is small, about 3 tables that can seat 4 people. What was nice was that the menu is also posted out the door so in case any line builds up going outside at least you can look at the menu before ordering. Overall good restaurant. Would not mind coming back and would like to try some other items on the menu.

The food here is not authentic. Their Butter Chicken was so sweet as the previous reviewer mentioned. I’ve never eaten any sweet butter chicken everrr! I guess that’s fugi cooks. Samosa veggie was ok but super greasy. Their chicken curry wasn’t good either, and for the rice, ewww. They dyed yellow food coloring to it and has no smell or natural rice aroma whatsoever! I am leaving a few more things out because pretty much everything tasted nasty. Overall, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

pros: 1. one of the best samosas and green sauce 2. will give you mild if you request, other places mild is still spicy cons: 1. no real indo/pak naan, some store bought salty one instead 2. owners seem to penny punch by a. giving my samosa in a disposable bowl that had writing on the bottom b. charging for any other type of sauce(we wanted the common sweet sauce with the samosa) — I actually didn’t want to even ask for any extra green sauce because another word of extra charge would have ruined my dinner. c. this didn’t bother me personally but to add to the pinching part, extra charge on refills 3. the fish in the curry seemed old and chewy and too salty for me

Im not going to lie. My girlfriend and i almost walked out the second we walked in, but we were just so starving from just leavin the gym and craving indian food. They only had like 7 trays of food out. 3 vegetables and 4 meat trays. They all look the same with just different labeling. Seems like theyve been out all day because the curry started to clump up. Price is around 9 – 10 $ a person and ive had better rice and naan bread before. I just have very high expectations when i eat indian food. This place is comparable to panda express is to real chinese food. The vegetables samosas were good.

1st visit so I played it safe. I Ordered chicken curry and chicken samosas.spicy. smelled amazing in there. Warm friendly greeting. They even made it fresh, not served from the warming food in front. Very delicious. Satisfied my craving and I will definitely be back. A little pricey, but well worth it. Large portions, i probably could have split my order with another person, but i decided to try and eat the whole thing because it was that yummy. Learned a lesson not to order it spicy. It was SPICY, but still very flavorful. Samosas were awesome as well. Great food, wonderful service.

I came here once before on a willing limb to try something new. the distance from my job is quite far for a one hour lunch break. I really wish there was Indian food closer to me. But the food I had here from what I remember was good and decently priced. When I was there it was lunch time and everything tasted very fresh. I would definitely be a returning customer but its just too out my way to be going there. Nonetheless the food good, you should give it a chance. I believe in had the samosas, tikki masala and rice.

My wife and I love this place and we come here often. This food is cook ahead of time which allows us to go in and get it fast so we can kick off our shoes at home and eat. This is not a formal sit down Indian restaurant that tries to act exotic and puts on false airs. This is curry for the family just like I ate with mine. The woman that works at the counter might seem grumpy but is actually very warm and sociable. She knows our faces, knows our tastes, and will talk to us the entire time from the moment we enter until the moment we leave.

The food(precooked from food bar) was a little subpar compared to other Indian restaurants I’ve been to. I’d give it 3.5÷5. I got the sweet buttered chicken(unique because it’s not found anywhere else), however it was too sweet for my taste compared to the original buttered chicken. For my veggie side of the combo plate, I got the spinach. It has a creamy, spinach-y taste but had a very awkward aftertaste. The rice was not basmati rice, but a yellow seasoned rice instead. The meal didn’t really fit my taste buds last night. I gave this business 4 stars because for one, the service is awesome; the lady was very friendly and helpful, being that it was our first time there. The food has two options. You can pick from the precooked items at the food bar to make combo plates, or you can order from the menu to be made when you order(never tried this yet, but I’m sure with the food being freshly made and hot, it will taste great). The tandoori chicken was DELICIOUS. It meat was so soft and tender with just the right amount of seasoning. Definitely will come back and order from their made-to-order menu.

Had a craving for chicken curry today so decided to try a new place. I love curry but I prefer it with a thicker sauce almost gravy like and with potatoes. This place had neither in theirs, but their curry was SOOGOOD. Very pleased and satisfied. Was asked if I wanted mild, medium, or spicy and I picked spicy. Spicy was perfect combo of flavor and spice without making a dish just too hot! The chicken samosa was great too. It said the special order item(boneless chicken curry) came with rice and naan but the naan just looked like roti instead. Wasn’t bad though! Online said they only had regular naan so that was disappointing, I’m a sucker for garlic naan. Overall I can’t really complain because food was great. Now if only they added garlic naan to the menu and potatoes to their curry… Lol. :)

The place is great. If you are in the mood for Indian food, this is the best place to go in Elk Grove. It is a homestyle ambiance. The place is always nice and clean. You can tell they really take a lot of pride in their restaurant. I eat at the Curry House about once a month. I have never come into the restaurant and the place was not clean. I use the restrooms and the are spotless. A big part of how I view a restaurant is how clean I perceive the place to be. It is a small cafeteria style restaurant. Every time I go, the mother, daughter and father are working. They are very friendly and welcoming to me. I appreciate the detail and care they give me when I come into their place. I am always greeted as I come in and they are always careful in taking care of all of the customers ordering food. The food is always delicious. I really enjoy the rich and spicy flavours available. The butter chicken is sweet and tender. They have a very spicy chicken that I absolutely love. I also love the creamed spinach. I always have a good experience when i dine at the Curry House and I highly recommend trying the restaurant.

Located in the Raley’s shopping center on the corner of EG Blvd. and Franklin Blvd., this little Indian eatery serves mediocre food with a Fijian flare. We got the Combination Family Meal, with saffron rice, chiken tikka masala, veggie samosa’s, saag, and tandori chicken. The tandori chicken was AWSOME… the best I’ve ever had. It was not dry like I’ve had at other places and it was very tasty! The chicken tikka was very good too; we got the spicy version, and it was indeed spicy hot yet very flavorful. But…the rice was blah; not basmati and no discernable saffron… just a hefty dose of yellow dye #11. The naan was of the frozen variety: factory made with fake grill marks. They were not particularly bad, but not the rustic, housemade type you’d expect to find in a restarant. Nor would I have expected to be served chopped spinach that was previously frozen; I just bought a huge bag of fresh spinach at Costco! How hard would it be to serve better quality fresh saag/spinach? Oh, you are supplied with styrofoam plates and plastic forks; not what I expect from a sit down eatery. Finally, the samosa’s were unremarkable, if a bit chewy. I would not be inclined to return due to the quality of the food. Prices were acceptable, and service was very good.

3 ½ stars. It’s like a fast food Indian Restaurant with Singing Indian Movies overhead. They have a medium buffet selection available and the Naan is fresh. The food tastes above average but not as tasteful as other Indian Buffets in Sac. The place is small so don’t expect to easily get a seat at peak times.

I was craving for some curry and got a coupon to use for getting an appetizer. I got their Tiki Masala and rice. They were actually almost ready to close and even though I walked through the door, they continued to give their 100% to help me. The woman at the counter was so helpful. She knew it was my first time and she helped me with a few suggestions. VERYHELPFUL. I took it for take out but when I got home and ate it… it was amazing! I loved it. The curry was just right for me. I really loved it a lot. I would definitely try again.

The menu needs a description of what the name of the item is. I asked the lady what was a veggie dish and she named all of the dishes that was displayed. I didn’t know that chicken masala was considered a veggie dish.(jk) I only gave this spot 3 stars because the food wasn’t authentic to me. But if you want fast Indian food, this is your place.

I don’t understand the complaints towards Curry House. My co-worker and I have craved Indian food this week, wanted variety at a reasonable price, and searched for somewhere relatively close to work. I read many Unilocaler’s love/hate relationship stories with them and suggested we check it out today. I was so impressed I pushed my work aside and started this review(sshhh don’t tell my boss). They offer 2-item meals for $ 7.99 and 3-item meals for $ 8.99, both including rice and a piece of naan. You can add a soft drink for $ 1 more. You can also order a menu item a la carte with rice and/or naan included. The female owner was very helpful and courteous. She explained in detail every entrée offered today(the fresh selections change daily), answered any questions we had about ingredients, and truly cared how our first visit was. Their chana masala was very filling yet still had a nice little kick. My coworker loved the tikka masala and chicken curry, stating the tikka was almost a 5-alarm in your mouth if you’re not used to heat. The rice was a simple, delicious accompaniment to the entrees, and the soft and chewy naan perfectly scooped the remaining curry. Next time I have a set date with the eggplant curry as I absolutely love anything eggplant. The owner explained their creamed spinach is a very popular dish as they make it with coconut cream. Their dal also looked good as did the veggie samosas. Sooner or later I’ll make my way through the veggie menu and report back ;-)
