The food was absolutely amazing I would definitely recommend this place to eat I’m definitely going back

Came in tonight for my usual ribeye steak and corn bread. They’ve altered the steak recipe a bit, so that now I have to actually request that it be smothered in chopped garlic. The establishment also needs to start carrying a wine list so that patrons can have better descriptions of their offerings. Biggest bummer was that they ran out of the peach cobbler«for the weekend,» according to our server. The ENTIRE weekend?!? Come on now. We can surely do better than that. On a more positive note, the Warriors game was on all big screens. Awesome!

FOOD — Free cornbread or soda with Unilocal check-in! The cornbread was moist and sweet. They’re not stingy on the size either. It’s definitely big enough to share. 4⁄5 — Cajun Garlic Fries: perfectly fried cajun fries topped with plentiful garlic and parmesan. The fries were warm, crunchy, and perfect! 5⁄5 — Stadium Wings: we ordered the Cajun rub but got the Cajun BBQ instead. We didn’t complain, we just accepted it. The waitress realized we got the wrong order and took the Cajun BBQ back and brought us the Cajun rub shortly. So we got to try both. The Cajun BBQ was actually a lot better than the Cajun rub. I don’t usually like saucy wings but the Cajun rub lacked flavor. The Cajun flavor was weak and bland. 4⁄5 for the Cajun BBQ and 3⁄5 for the Cajun rub. — Garlic Noodles: sweet, buttery egg noodles with a moderate garlic taste. The sweetness made the noodles different from other garlic noodles I’ve had. I liked it. 4⁄5 — Jambalaya: white rice with shrimp, chicken, hot links, white onions, red and green bell peppers. Good flavor but the chicken was a little dry and the bell peppers were huge! It would have been easier to eat if it was chopped smaller. Huge portion, hefty price. I feel like there wasn’t enough rice for all the other ingredients. 3⁄5 — Crawfish in mixed sauce: HUGE crawfish but the mixed sauce was kinda weak. I like my sauce thick but the mixed sauce was watery and the flavor was okay. The cost was $ 14.99/pound. Kinda ridiculous. 3⁄5 — Dungeness Crab: whole Dungeness crab for $ 32. Good size, very meaty. Comes with 2 potatoes and 1 corn ear. Again, the sauce was okay. 3⁄5 SERVICE We waited at the entrance of the restaurant for over 5 minutes before anyone noticed us. There was another group there waiting before us. I don’t know how long they were waiting. When the waitress realized there were customers waiting to be attended she came over to apologize and thanked us for waiting. She was the only waiter/server working at the moment so we cut her some slack. She did a pretty good job managing the whole restaurant on a Friday afternoon by herself. We got the wrong chicken wings and our sauce for the crawfish and Dungeness crab was mild instead of moderate but we didn’t say anything. 3⁄5 FINALTHOUGHTS The food was decent for the most part, but everything was overpriced. Nothing was memorable with the the exception of the cajun garlic fries. I probably won’t be returning because of cost and distance from my house.

I tried to call 2 different days to place an order to go and both time have been unsuccessful. Yesterday no one even bother to answer the phone and today I was immediately placed on hold after I say I would like to place an order to go. I decided to hang up after waiting for 8 minutes on hold cause if I have wanted to wait any longer than that I would just drive there, order, and wait for the food in person. Ridiculous. So what would it take to be able to place an order to go? Does anyone have the same problem as I do?

Food was excellent. I highly recommend the garlic noodles. They are kind of sweet spicy and zingy. They were delicious. We also decided on snow crab by the pound. Decently priced. 4 starts for ok service. Friendly but not very attentive.

First visit, fires and PoBoy were great! Clams, muscles and shrimp were all cooked perfectly. Crab cake was so-so. A bit too much basil in the pasta but still good. Desirable service. Looking forward to a second visit! If you’ve been here once before and had a not so good experience I would encourage you to give it another go.

So, I went to Chason’s in Elk Grove Sunday night with a friend for a beer. It was 9:30 or so and I decided to use the restroom. I walk into the clearly-labeled women’s restroom and there is a stall to the left and a stall to the right. I use the stall on the right. As I’m going to the bathroom, I hear the door open and a few seconds later I hear, «Oh, wait, is this the women’s restroom?» and it’s a guy. I don’t respond, because I assume that after you’ve asked that question and don’t see any URINALS you understand that you’ve gone through the wrong door. I thought he left. He says again, «so am I in the women’s restroom or not?» and I said, «oh, I think so!» He apologizes, and once again, I think he leaves. I look under my stall wall and see that he is in the other stall, door closed, standing up and facing the toilet. I flush, leave my stall and wash my hands at the sink which is right outside the stall door. He leaves the stall he is in, walks behind me, and goes into the stall I was in, again saying he didn’t know it was the women’s restroom. I say, «well is there something wrong with the men’s??» He says, «no, I just really had to piss.» Which is why he left the stall he was in to use the stall I was just using? What the heck? So I come out, share my story with my friend, and he informs me that man is the OWNER of the establishment. The owner then proceeds to order and drink a beer and go about his business.

OMG, ok, where do I start?! Prime rib was juicy, tender, and flavorful. It was cooked so well. Last time we tasted something close to it was in San Francisco. That’s how good it was. Garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli and a couple sauces came with it. It was so good that we promised each other that we’d come back every Thursday. Dungeness Crab — Eva style was delicious(to say the least). It had the right amount of garlic, butter, and a small dose of heaven in every crab leg, claw, and body. It had me absolutely speechless. When I first tried it, my mouth dropped in awe. Am I exaggerating? Hell no! It was everything you could hope for in a crab. Where it be you’re hungry, or just looking for a quick bite, this Eva Special will satisfy it all. Garlic fries were crispy, not oily, the garlic wasn’t too overwhelming and was fresh. It was just the balance of garlic, potato and seasoning. Garlic noodles were pretty good and filling. Overall, our experience would be 4.5÷5. For those who have experienced less than what we have, I recommend you try them again. They were very modern as well. In addition to music, the TVs that played sports channels and even movies, they were also placed at very strategic angles so that one would not have to strain their neck to see the next baseball, football, basketball, or even hockey game. This is the kind of place you take your visitors from other cities to eat at! We will be back very soon.

I came here on Mother’s Day. I loved the set up. The staff was super nice, their special for Mother’s Day was bottomless mimosas so I definitely took advantage of that while I waited about 15 – 20 min for a table! My first mimosa was so good, but after that I’m convinced it was 99% orange juice and 1% champagne lol. I ordered 2lbs of shrimp, one pound of mussels, a side of fries, and of course garlic noodles! Everything was so, so good! Like no complaints at all. Now what I liked is that if you order 3 lbs of any Items I. e Shrimp, crabs ect. You get corn, sausage, potatoes and corn bread with it! That was really nice & also if you check into Unilocal you can get a free soda or corn bread! I must add, the customer service was perfect! I loved the waiter I had & every time he would refill my mimosa he’d say«ready to tap out??» Lol even walking out he door he yelled«wow, you sure you’re going to tap out?» So it was really nice he didn’t seem irritated that I had 8+ mimosas lol. Only con is that they’re a little more pricey than other places similar… I would recommend buying the groupon that saves you about 8 bucks. But still overall really good.

Although I would like to give a better rating, but I could not for several reasons. After being here several times, I can justify my 3 stars rating. Atmosphere — Very family friendly environment which is a big plus. Seating area is pretty tight especially when the place is packed. There is a jukebox there where patrons can select songs. But at the price of $ 1 a song!!! Service at dining area — Very friendly and helpful! We did not wait long for our server and food. Food came out fast! The servers checked on us throughout our entire stay asking if we needed anything. Food — We ordered several appetizers, entrees and kids menu items. There were some great dishes. The raw oysters were very delicious. They were the small oysters and we ate it with the Mien sauce. We also enjoyed the gumbo which well seasononed and flavored. On the other hand, there were some dishes rhat needes so. e work. The calamari could be fried a bit longer to be more longer to be more crispy and so the breading wont fall off so easily. The garlic noodles served with the garlic prawn were overcooked and was lacking garlic flavor. We had the 3lbs seafood mix special with shrimp and clams. The seasoning was too salty for my liking and the spiciness level was not spicy. It was more mild. Bar service — Bartenders were friendly; however, the service was so slow. We ordered shots of cognac and it took them literally 10 minutes to get them to us. This does not count the time that it took them to go get a new bottle in the back. While serving our drinks, the bartenders were chatting with their friends which increase the service time. This occurred everytime we went there to ordered drinks. It doesnt help either that they eating and taking shots too which I dont mind. But when it increase my waiting time, I do mind.

Well Chason’s my verdict is in, Food meh but drinks Yay! I have returned to this place several times since my 1st visit and I’m just not impressed with the food or the prices. The menu has been attacked with a sharply to increase prices but sadly the actual food size has been reduced! Here’s a few examples: Fried Oysters: I remember thinking dam those fried oysters are tasty but during my recent visit was informed the price had increased to $ 11.95 but now instead of eight tiny oysters there are four? Uhmmmm no thanks?! Shrimp Po Boy: this sandwich is super tasty but the bread changes and of course the size of the bread has been reduced. Mussels/Clams/Shrimp: hmmmm not sure where they are purchasing but market price of $ 13.95 is steep, plus this is ala carte! Don’t add corn or sausage, etc. Prices use to be around $ 9.99÷10.99. Wings: Again something tasty but $ 12.95 for 8 wings is just nuts! Especially since EG has other wing places who serve 6 wings for $ 6.99…and yes that price was increased. Again I wish this place never changed their concept because we would be there weekly. At this point since my girl lives a block away this is just a happy hour or drink spot.

Excellent food & service and place is clean, but I would never buy Gropon/Living Social– deals for this business again. Why? 1) HH changes often(first 3-hrs the business opens, or whenever the check says HH) Accident? 2)Their new system shows as HH, but it’s not actually HH deal(The owner Peter manually gave a discount this time.) Accident? 3) Alcohol is excluded from the deal, but doesn’t spell it out. Accident? Again, food & service are excellent. Business model? Thumbs down. They keep changing the game… I don’t trust them. Period.

Came here for a random day because I had found this place on groupon. Service: Was ok, the waitress was very awkward when asking her questions, general questions about the food. But overall ok. Food: We tried the snow crab, garlic noodles, garlic noodles with prawns, fried oysters and cajun fried shrimp. Overall everything was pretty tasty no complaints except the oysters could have used some type of seasoning, they were a bit flavorless considering they were fried. And this place has a pretty reasonable happy hour i must say… Cool place to come with friends or girlfriend/boyfriend

This place is right next to my house, and every time I drive by it’s a new restaurants. I’ve tried every single one since 2006. I don’t know if the ownership changes or what, but the food is usually the same. I usually come in for the wings and they’re always consistent. Last time I came in I ordered the«jalapeño poppers» as an appetizer. As I bit into one I notice that they tasted a bit odd. They were not jalapeños but instead they were bell peppers, which was kind of odd since I order«jalapeño poppers.» So I decided to ask them what kind of jalapeños where these they said«we switch them to bell peppers because people would complain about how spicy they were.» So they should change the name to «bell pepper poppers.» I asked a few of my friends that have been there recently and they said no they’ve always had jalapeños in their poppers, I feel as if they ran out of jalapeños that day.

So we decided to come here for a pre bday lunch. Upon entering we was greeted immediately! They only had one hostess/waitress on the floor when the restaurant first open. Might I add she was working her tale off, even though we waited awhile to to get our food. The jambalaya was soooooo good!!! OMG! So flavorful and so much meat. The rice was cooked to perfection and every bite was full of greatness! The 1 lb shrimp was flavorful as well, not as spicy as the boiling crab but nice bite to it. The Cajun garlic fries was cooked to a crisp and very flavorful with garlic in every bite. Mmmmm. Way better then the Cajun fries at boiling crab. The only thing it was missing was the spiciness! All in all, we will be coming back here, the first impression was a good one and our waitress was great, we even got a $ 10 gift card from the birthday wheel! Until next time…

Man. I really really truly wanted to love this place… But it was a fail. Since Chasons is literally a mile away from my house and they have a full bar, I was super excited to check it out! Husband and I decided to check this place out last Sunday for some food, drinks and football… We ordered: Garlic Fries: meh. Very plain. The garlic and seasoning wouldn’t stick onto the fries. Salmon and veggies: salmon was Waaaaay over cooked and was very dry and the veggies were super bland. It seemed like they just boiled sliced onions and chopped garlic in water and poured it over the veggies. They also attempted to pour some tasteless sweet chili sauce on top of the salmon. Fish and chips: The waitress suggested this because it was the best item on the menu. There was so much batter on the fish, couldn’t taste the fish at all. The fish kinda looked like deep fried burrito. The waitress let us substitute our fries for sweet potato fries. Sad to say. The sweet potato fries were the only thing that tasted okay. Overall the service was good but the food is very bland and tasteless. Probably won’t be coming back.

Excellent food, excellent service!!! Celebrated my 2 cousins and my birthday here. The wings were tasty, the crab jalapeño poppers(oh my) were AMAZING, and salt pepper shrimp and calamari had just the right amount of tempura batter. My cousin and I shared 1 lb of shrimp med spicy, mix flavors, with potatoes, corn, and sausage and an order of garlic shrimp noodles. Huge prawns cooked with perfection, love the flavors too. Corn was very sweet and the sausage was huge. The drinks were strong and during happy hour they’re $ 2 off the regular menu price. The drinks were coming in slow but owner Ronnie took really good care of us with ½ off drinks at the end. He even took shots of Tres with us on the house. Ronnie was EXCELLENT, always checking up on my party making sure we had everything we needed and happy with our food. My family and I will definitely be coming back!!!

Happy freaking new year!!!(eve haha) Wow, wow, wow! If you read my last review you would know that I was not impressed by this place whatsoever! Since its New Year’s Eve not many places stay open past 8 but fortunately Chason’s was! So what the heck, I’ll give it another try. We ordered 3lbs of seafood, 6 raw oysters, Cajun garlic fries, garlic noodles, and 2 sides of mien sauce. This place really stepped up their game! Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful, I’m so glad they have a mien sauce now, it’s a great compliment to the seafood options. I really enjoyed their flavor options, the fusion one is my favorite! The Cajun flavor is just a bit too salty for me but it was still good. Not sure why but I really appreciated the soy sauce flavor in the garlic noodles too, it made them very savory. The oysters come with a champagne sauce(I didn’t like it but my boyfriend did), but I used my mien sauce instead :) The Cajun garlic fries were very unique, I tasted a bit of taco seasoning in it? They also have a menu of entrees which I’m excited to try at my next visit, I looked over to the table next to us and they were having the surf and turf, looked good lol! From my last visit a year ago, there has been a noticeable improvement!!! From the food to the amazing customer service. It was a pleasure having Judy as our server. As you could imagine, it was pretty hectic since it is New Year’s Eve but she was still bubbly and enthusiastic when she greeted us. She gave us awesome recommendations and let us take our time while we decided on our order. She refilled my drink 3 times and checked up on our table multiple times, super attentive! I am so glad all the other crawfish places in Sacramento were either closed or closing early because it made me stumble upon this gem again. Will be back :)

Again groupon score and this one was a definite score! Driving past often I have wanted to try and finally did celebrating a friends belated birthday. We arrived around 5:15 on a Monday and were offered bar or dining room seating both offered the happy hour pricing winning! I feel terrible for not remembering our servers name but she was amazing. She was patient with us giving us ample time without making us feel forgotten about. We decided on garlic noodles with prawns, 1 lb shrimp in bag with Cajun season mild w/potatoes and sausage added, and 4 beers :) total damage after our groupon was around 19.00 this was a great price for what we had super happy! The food itself was great, my friend had never had either of these items before and loved them! I was impressed with the shrimp which were all huge and plump the sauce was perfect not to spicy at mild or to salty. The potatoes were all perfectly soft and perfect dunking at the end with the amazing sauce, the sausage was great as well and was sliced which was nice. Overall I was pleasantly surprised at my recent seafood misses, no complaints in fact nothing but praises to be said about my experience at Chason’s crab stadium. Even the bathroom was clean and well stocked! I cannot wait to go back and use my Unilocal check in offer ;)

Well, I was here last night for the big boxing match. My partner’s brother is a very loyal customer so I’ve heard the name«Chason’s» a lot over the years. I really didn’t want to go because nothing looked or sounded good to me(I’m not a heavy eater). The one thing I did feel like ordering was the chicken Cesar salad, which is a $ 13 salad. I have no idea on Earth where this number came from. Salad was large, yes, but mostly lettuce — lots of lettuce. The chicken did come nice grilled on the plate however so if this were under $ 10 I wouldn’t be complaining. I was embarrassed to have my partner even pay for it. I figured I’d have a carb on the side so I ordered corn bread provided by the Unilocal check-in. This was the worst cornbread I’ve ever had. Sure I may have grown up with a southern belle of a grandmother who knew how to «throw down» on some cornbread. But wrong is just wrong. The consistency was very dry, the taste was like sawdust and the drizzle of honey didn’t make anything better. I asked the waiter for another slice, even if it were smaller I didn’t care, but he said only one batch was made that morning. Here I am the next day feeling like I owe it to myself to buy a box of Jiffy. I actually ended up feeding my sugartooth next door at Tops yogurt. If I’m ever forced to go back to Chason’s I will eat prior and have the fozen yogurt for dessert. On the positive side, service was nice enough. Chason(?) kept the place pretty upbeat with his energy and talking on the mic. I can’t grade them based on their seafood unfortunately. It seemed like others’ enjoyed it. But I personally am not open to finding out. Sorry!
