I don’t know where else you can get a kolache in El Paso. This may very well be the only place you can get such a delicacy*. And if you’ve never had a kolache before, I definitely recommend trying them here. From the outside… well, and the inside too, it doesn’t look like much. The building, located on Mesa across from Coronado High School, may have been a Taco Bell back in the day(before they started trying to look so modern). They’ve done some painting, but up TV screen menus, and added a TV for your viewing pleasures. Taking this all in, I actually think they’d fare a lot better in a smaller central location Downtown. But I didn’t go expecting to «ooh» and«ahh» at the décor… I came for the food. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and a chocolate kolache with a side of chips and a soda. This might sound silly to mention, but they ONLY make kolaches… I think this is important to mention because sometimes you go somewhere expecting a few options like a side salad or french fries or whatever. You do have the options of chips, but we’re talking Lays and the like. It might’ve been cool to do some kettle chips made in house or a side salad… really anything that goes good with a sandwich… but they’re not there yet, they do kolaches. So my Philly Cheesesteak kolache was pretty good. The steak was nice and thin and it was beautifully cheesy. The bread was a little hard, but overall a good kolache. I wasn’t a big fan of the chocolate kolache because it’s more of a chocolate paste than the ganache type texture I was expecting. Images of a giant(and softer) Hello Panda is what I imagined. The chocolate was a little gritty which actually makes me think they might make it in house so I think they have the right tools and a great opportunity to do something amazing with this chocolate kolache. I will say that I am very interested to try their apple kolache, but those seem to go quick. I love to see this new concept in El Paso. The staff we interacted with were both great and helpful(and yes, they do have a Unilocal check-in deal which is awesome). A good place for a quick lunch and kolaches are definitely portable. *I’ve been informed by Albert K. that you can get kolaches at other locations in El Paso… I won’t name these locations in this review, but I’ll just tell you that they both are donut shops(one local, one a chain). Happy kolache hunting!

My wife and I were surprised and excited to spot this place while we were driving around trying to decide what to have for lunch, so we stopped in to check it out. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the brisket, the Philly cheesesteak, and the sausage and jalapeño kolaches. We will definitely be eating here again. Kolache Kings is a great and much-needed addition to El Paso; I hope they do well and stick around.

So excited to have a kolache place in El Paso! I’ve been living in DFW for the past 8 years and developed a love for kolaches. This place has kept the basic kolache idea and added a little El Paso flavor to it(aka chorizo). Now, I prefer the savory kolaches which this place has plenty of. I tried the sausage and cheese and the egg and chorizo. Both were nice and warm when I got them and didn’t disappoint. The sausage and cheese used breakfast sausage(I’m more used to the hotdog type of sausage in kolaches) and it was very tasty! The egg and chorizo was perfect… Nice sweet chewy bread on the bottom plenty of egg and chorizo on top. I will be back here most certainly because I didn’t have enough room to try the jalapeño and sausage. I’m also hoping that as business grows they will be able to add a few more sweet kolaches, like apricot or peach. See you soon Kolache Kings!

This place is terrible. Kolaches are hard and like the other Unilocaler said, little meat inside and not much of a Kolache flavor(Dry meat and unseasoned). I would advise to not come here since the customer service is poor as well as management. The place has a few tables, some TVs and thats about it. Very boring environment. For the quality of the Kolaches, this place is overpriced. The establishment is also pretty empty. I give it this last year before they shutdown.

Great Kolaches! Reminds me of central Texas. Keep coming here so they can keep a this place open. You can only eat so many tacos here in El Paso.

Stopped by to pick up some kolache to the office for breakfast. It’s not Weikel’s or Hruska’s(Kolache Mecca in La Grange) but the fare is pretty good – as good as Shipley’s(which is no dig). I was a bit disappointed that only klobasnek(savory) and no kolache(sweet) was available in the morning, but the klobasnek was darn good(especially the sausage, cheese, and japs). The dough was soft and slightly sweet with moist and very tasty fillings. I will definitely return and look forward to trying the fruit kolache.

Don’t go here if you’re thinking Kolaches finally made it to El Paso. For anyone who is from the rest of Texas, you will not consider these«kolaches.» They are essentially breakfast sandwiches. Although the bread is very good, the inside is filled with breakfast sausage(vs real sausage or mini sausages like real kolaches/sausage rolls) or they can be filled with some other breakfast item(eggs, chorizo, bacon). We were craving kolaches in the morning but were disappointed after taking a few bites. Instead, go to Albertson’s across the street, buy little smokies and Hawaiian sweet bread, combine with cheese, and you’ll have your fix. This place should be called Breakfast Roll King instead. Customer service is good. The drive-thru is poorly designed.

Their jalapeño and sausage kolache is the best. Great customer service, location and prices. Glad to have stopped by, already have been here twice.

Not kolaches. The bread is hard, like a French roll, with a little meat, cheese, or canned fruit inside. I was so hopeful that kolaches had come to El Paso, but will need to wait. The staff are poorly trained and not wearing a uniform. The atmosphere is simply a few tables, tv, and not much else. Please visit some central or east Texas bakeries and taste a real kolaches. Then, quickly adjust!

I’m super excited that there’s a kolache spot in ELP. I’ve lived in central Texas for awhile, kolaches are my doughnuts. With that being said, I’m more into the sweet roll taste in my kolaches. These aren’t very sweet. I also am a big breakfast person and I cook a lot at home.(Haven’t tried baking kolaches yet tho) So the savory flavors fell a little short for me as well. We sampled everything. My kids were fans of the bacon and egg. I know this is a new spot so I have high hopes for them! My kolache fix depends on it.(No pressure) Service was great! Hoping to return and update this review. Give them a try if your in the area!
