Amazing store! Had a great selection of jewelry and items to please the women… though my mother and I might of cleared them out. Delicious sandwiches…(per my mother) and although I couldn’t eat the food(gluten free and dairy free) they were nice enough to pack up a couple slices of turkey so I could make my own sandwich back at my hotel. Staff is super inviting and pleasant.

Great little hardware store! You can run in, grab lunch while you pick up a new ratchet set! Downside is the store is on the small side, through extremely well stocked. I do occasionally have to go to Oceanshore afterwards. But they don’t have a deli. So I try to check here first, when I’m hungry. Did the mention they have REAL cold brewed coffee?

Omg! I came to get coffee here, a friend told me about this café, I ordered a pound of coffee. And noticed all the hardware ! I picked up 3 items a plus don’t need to spend on gas to go over the hill! I was told I get a free cup of coffee for the pound I bought ! Wow and then was offered a punch card that’s something u don’t see, next time I go I will try a sandwich The pricing is beyond fair and I will support the locals. This place had a great staff and they will help u find the hardware u need! The item I needed I was lazy the guy directed me perfect ! U can’t find something ask ! I wish I lived in el Granada but driving 5 miles it’s worth it!

I wanted so badly to love you, little Hardware store. Maybe if I had my old taste buds before I gained somewhat of a refined palette for coffee. I was surprised that the little shop even had almond milk, so I was super excited to get an almond milk latte. My boyfriend could tell right away that he steamed the milk too long, since we were both baristas and know that there are different steaming times for types of milk. The latte itself had almost no flavor and zero foam. It was basically just espresso with a lot of burnt milk. I was super bummed. However, my boyfriend seemed to like going here every morning for the week we were in town, and they have really great customer service. I was also bummed to see a few little patches of ants throughout the store. Maybe just needs a good wipe down, since the door is always open, and it was mostly where all of the candy is placed.

The best sandwiches in the area! Every time I go to visit HMB I have to stop by for either a sandwich or breakfast bagel sandwich(with some chips, of course). They are all very tasty! After a sandwich, I also have to get a small scoop of ice cream :) Along with the wide variety of candy, drinks(so many options for coffee!) and chips they also carry some nic nacs at Sabrina’s Corner and some hardware. This is definitely an all in one place to go for your needs, especially since it is so close to the beach.

Loved to pick up sandwiches here when we lived on the coast! Their dutch crunch bread is the BEST… Dutch Crunch with Albacore Tuna YUM The store itself is just weird, moving to the coast from suburbia the thought of a Hardware Store that also sold sandwiches seemed crazy. but it works and it fast became of my favorite places. The weird wonderful coastsiders and their quirky establishments are the BEST, I hope it never changes!

Finally a good cup of coffee in the HMB area! Choose between about 30 kinds of beans and enjoy a fresh cup of pour over coffee. fast and friendly service. Keep in mind the pour over coffee takes about 3 – 5 minutes a cup so take a minute to explore the hardware shop that is packed with all sorts of things you didn’t know you needed.

Don’t get thrown off because this is a «hardware and coffee store» cause that sounds like a combination that doesn’t make any sense. But this place truly has good coffee, the mocha has the right balance of flavors based on this excellent tasting espresso, the cold brew iced coffee is amazing as well. Funny little place as every square inch of the walls is covered in something they are selling, but great coffee.

I absolutely love the fact that it’s a hardware store and café. So adorable. The food is mediocre, the coffee is great. Unfortunately the staff is less than friendly. I was in town for 4 days and ate there every single day, I don’t think I saw a single person smile in there, was kind of depressing. Lucky for them, it’s super convenient.

Rarely have I been so underwhelmed as when consuming a sandwich made at El Granada Hardware & Café. With all of the great reviews I was looking to have an excellent sandwich made at a local place. Granted it is a hardware store. But when you have been to as many places in the stick as I have with surprisingly good experiences at unusual locations, well, you just come to expect that greatness can be found anywhere. Unfortunately greatness is not found in an El Granada Hardware & Café sandwich. Not the worst I have ever had but certainly not exciting either. My creation was the Dutch Crunch bread with salami, pastrami, cheddar, swiss, veggies, mayo, and mustard. The bread the most exciting thing about the sandwich and it was average at best. The meats we simply bland. The taste, texture, and quality of made me think that someone was trying to go cheap while still asking for a better price. The cheeses both were something that also made me think of cheap quality. The veggies were fresh and good. Mustard and mayo were okay. But I have to say I they overall creation was about as exciting as a sandwich made at a grade school. Martinelli’s apple juice washed it all down and was good. The small latte they made was good. The courtyard to eat your food in was cute Their hardware selection seemed about right for the community. They also stuffed a lot of other things besides hardware in the place. Almost int he style of a general store. Would I go back to El Granada Hardware & Café? Not for their disappointing sandwich! But maybe for some hardware or a coffee in the future.

Best coffee on the coast! I know it may seem weird to get your coffee from a hardware store, but it seriously rivals 4 Barrel or Ritual… so good!

Stopped by for a quick lunch. love that there’s a coffee and sandwich side to this hardware store! You can pretty much get any customized sandwich for $ 7. I sat outside on a beautiful day with an ocean view. you can’t beat that!

Go get a good sandwich where? It’s inside the what? I almost banned an el Granada local from ever giving me food advice again! Doesn’t he know I’m a foodie and he wants me to go the hardware store to get some glorious sandwich!!! I was predicting my review already. I learned the true meaning of a butter face at this place. Tucked inside and to the right is an incredibly good sandwich waiting for you to give it a chance. I have tried a lot of different ones and I can’t even decide what my favorite is and their mustard makes me crave it and I don’t even like mustard. The sandwiches are huge, they are amazing and you will find yourself driving to el Granada just to get one or two or three! Close your eyes, open your mind and mouth and enjoy. I’m ready to get in the car just Unilocaling about it.

If you are ever visiting Half Moon Bay or El Granada area, you have to stop by the little hardware store called El Granada Hardware and Café. After doing a little sight seeing, we stopped in the café for a quick bite. The sandwiches and coffee were absolutely fantastic. This will definitely be a lunch stop when we visit the area again. To add to the sandwiches and coffee, the workers were very friendly.

Whenever it’s lunchtime and I’m in El Granada I stop by the hardware store. You can’t go wrong with these sandwiches; it’s like a small town, classic, «hole in the wall» destination that locals treasure. It’s a little pricy, but it’s worth it. Don’t bother stopping at the once«local» Cunha’s, subway, or anything else. If you’re in EG, this is the spot. Pro tip: expect a big sandwich when getting a roll. Prepare to not eat for a while after. Food coma is common I love the teriyaki chicken sandwich with the works, jack cheese, jalapeños, all on a sourdough or Dutch crunch roll. A large sandwich, bag of chips, and soda will be a great meal.

I LOVED my first visit to the El Granada Hardware & Café! This place came highly recommended by a friend who surfs. I decided to enjoy a sunny day and take a drive. Totally decided to stop off and have this amazing sandwhich and this specially dripped ’ Fog Something’ coffee that was AMAZING! The folks that run the store are amazing! Carlos made me this amazing sandwich and Maria showed me around the store… just in case I needed a new screwdriver! I will absolutely come back and hang out at this spot… hopefully to enjoy the perfect french abm

Mmmmmmm good coffee — — -don’t go to p’s or *bucks. This is better grind. Kidduknott. Nice staff. Drip Brew. Real deal. They could improve on the frozen lenders bagels. Up it to Costco s at a bargain price. Would do better for all. U can still freeze em. And use their cheddar for a better Sammy. Nic eto have this place as a local benchmark.

Surfer dude recommended this place. I thought seven bucks for a sammy was a bit high, but that thing was a monster, and it turned out to be dang good. Very mild onions, dijon mustard was top shelf! Also, kona coffee was outstanding, made fresh right in front of me!

This is one of those places that makes you sound like you’ve gone off your meds when you try to describe it: well, it’s a hardware store, but they have surf supplies in the corner below a wide screen television. And it’s also a café with specialty drip coffees, a sandwich bar and there’s a huge candy section like a 5 and dime and you can also buy Maverick’s gear as well as their own sweatshirt and t-shirts. And some flip-flops. And a hammer. And there’s an outdoor patio with tables, but it looks like it’s chained up for the winter. And. well, let’s just say it’s a cool little spot. Please note that service varies as in sometimes they’re sweet as could be and other times they may look at you like you’ve just landed from another planet. Also, do NOT order soy milk like I did since it’s clear no one has actually tasted the stuff they use here.
