Awesome home-style food for cheap price! Their Punjabi platter and sugarcane juice is my hubby’s all-time favourite :) we highly recommend this place

When I first came in… Ill admit. I was a little startled. There was so much rush and it looked unsanitary and unorganized(probably because I’m a neat freak). I ordered«Vada pav». «And it took 5 minutes to get here. Upon seeing the food, I was immediately tempted and took a bite. After taking a but u decided… BESTVADAPAVEVER. If ur ever in Edison u HAVE to eat here… At least the Vada pav.

Terrible. Papdi chaat was very good but everything else was simply terrible. Biryani was disgusting and pav bhaji was like spicy baby food. My main complaint, please do nut put biryani on the menu if you can’t cook it.

Horrible food. Especially with the abundance of indian restaurants around, you think their food would be of par. Nope. Chole bature was full of oil. Palak paneer was tasteless. Almost tasted like it was lying around in their freezer and they heated it up. We ordered a papadi chat and got a ‘papad’ chat instead. Literally papad broken up and given to you. The lady can barely communicate properly on the phone. The only reason this place gets even 1 star is for their kati rolls, which is pretty decent. Everything else? Forget it.

Please do yourself a favor and try other places in Edison. If this was somewhere in the middle of colorado, it would have been fine. But when you are in Edison you can not have such low quality food. Ratings: Pau bhaji — 4⁄10 Veg Biryani — 3.5÷10 Kati roll — 3⁄10 Service — 4⁄10 Staff was nice but we waited too long at times to get requested items.

For years we mostly ate Indian Food at a restaurant in Kenilworth. Once in a while we would try someplace else, but the food would never compare. Recently we started in earnest looking for another place to go. I’ve been passing Bombay Spice 2 for years, and always meant to stop in to try it. This week I happened to be going by near lunch time, so I turned in. It’s easy to pass by because the building in below street level. I doubt I will pass it by again. One of our favorite foods is Samosa, so of course we got an order of 2. I love chole, so I ordered the Chole Bhature chat. When we got home and started to eat, I wished I had my own Samosa, I only tasted a bite of one so my husband could have them both. It was the very best Samosa I ever ate. The chole was fantastic. It was seasoned boldly, it was hearty and very satisfying. I was surprised to see it came with thinly sliced sweet onion, Indian pickles and two pieces of a type of Indian bread. Most of the items on their menu are unfamiliar to me, but I took the time to research them and am looking forward to going back and trying many more of them! Although there are ample tables, and the place is very clean, the ambiance is more like that of a take out place. The only complaint I have is the the young woman who waited on me was more focused on what she was hearing on her smartphone headphones. She could have been more attentive when I questioned her about the menu, since I wanted to try something new.

If there was a zero star option I would have given that. This place is totally money minded. Just went there today morning to buy samosas for our family get together and they gave very little chutneys with the samosas for a 25 samosa order. When I asked for more chutney the clueless girl at the counter had to go ask five different people only to come back and tell me that they will charge me if I want extra chutney. that too 4 $ for the little amount of chutney they had given me. Will never go back to this place again n would definitely like to warn all of u people from going to this nasty place. Overall cleanliness of the restaurant is also really smells yuck!

A great place for Kati Rolls. It’s right on route 27 so it’s easy to get to. Biggest downside is the service is very slow. Also the kitchen staff sometimes works out in the seating area and makes you feel like you are intruding. That’s not to say that they are not friendly, because they are, it just makes it a better place to get take out or delivery from.

I just love this place. When I am in the area, I always call to place a take out order. I am very partial to their aloo papri chat. So good and the portions are incredibly generous. The kati rolls are great too. Food is so authentic and delicious that it’s practically like my grandmother herself made these dishes. Prices are great. I’ve been to a party where this place catered and it was delicious. Usually, catered Indian food is not great. This place is the exception. The place is very casual, no frills. The staff is very helpful. Seriously, go and try it. You will love it! I will not take away a star for this, but the parking lot is a bit awkward, so be aware of that, especially if you are driving a large vehicle.

This place advertises itself as a kati roll specialist. This caught my eye as I was driving down highway 27. We ordered some kati rolls and biryani to go on a saturday evening. The restaurant does seat at least 20 – 25 people but no one was around when I reached. A couple of employees were at a table working on some paper work for the restaurant. The kati rolls were decent. The size itself was good and the filling was tasty(and spicy). They have some room for improvement on their roti. For instance, they do not offer egg as an option for the roti. The biryani was average. Nothing special. Meat distribution was decent. As with most biryani places, the rice seemed dry and separated from the meat. They do offer a whole lot of other items here from indo chinese to north indian dishes. For this reason, I am always a bot skeptical about a restaurant which tries to be too much.

I stopped by Bombay Spice on a whim after work. After a long day, I was in the mood for something different from my typical Italian taste. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere with basic furnishings and a large showcase of pastries up front by the register. I have to give tons of credit to the staff for a friendly and welcoming demeanor. I openly admitted I had no idea what anything was and asked about the Punjabi Platter — the search ended right there. A choice of lentil, veggie, rice and naan all served together for just $ 7! I’m pretty sure I had a choice of how to prepare the lentils and of what vegetables, but since I had no clue the girl chose for me. Overall the food was excellent. There was enough for a hearty meal with PLENTY of leftovers. The yellow lentils were rich with a fresh curry taste. The veggie was a sweet red sauce(I’m guessing butter masala) with paneer(cubes of cheese). The rice was perfectly cooked and per the usual I was obsessed with naan. I think this place could be a good hole in the wall gem, but really don’t know Indian food well enough to give an absolute answer. My one guarantee is that I will certainly be back soon.
