Excellent service, our waitress got caught up at a table with many questions and another noticed and came to assist. Very good service. The food was bad. I would not return. The portobello sandwich was not bad but the cider slaw was all mayo, the tortila slaw was like stale Doritos with msg and high fructose corn syrup and the pineapple chicken was not cleaned well, and had those tendon rat tails. Also there was an unexplainable mucusy substance on the plate about the size of a half dollar that took away our appetites. As a result of what we did eat, both of our stomachs are not feeling great two hours after the fact.

It’s our first time here. Recommended by a friend. The place is good. Not really impressed on the steak, love the ahi tuna. But I was disappointed when we walk in their was 2 people in the front desk the other one was trying to seat a customer and the other person was just on her iPad and didn’t even ask if we’re being help already .We have reservation for 5 people but no one even greeted us as if we don’t exist for 5 minutes and a couple walk in and they were seated before us so finally I said excuse me we have reservation for 5 people. I felt like walking out of that place but I just let go. But it’s rude to be ignore.

Service was ok. Appetizers were acceptable; drinks are average; and the food was simply bad. We loved our waitress and hostess.

I have heard bad and good things about there food so I decided I had to try it myself. I went for my birthday with a friend of mine. I do like s good steak. That is what I ordered. I also felt like a cup of soup. Every night is s different one to choice from. Friday nights is Veggie black bean. I love my black bean soup and it was very good. I ordered a fillet and it comes with 1 side. Many to choice from, it was cooked to perfection. One of the best fillets I have ever had. My friend ordered a burger. Also cooked perfect and very good. The waitress was very polite and suggested many different things are the menus. We had to order dessert. It was a very rich flourless chocolate cake. It was very sweet and rich. That’s the only thing bad I can say. The staff even remembered it was my birthday and they sent a signed birthday card from the staff. I thought that was nice and a special touch. Didn’t use the ladies room so I can’t rate them. Overall I would return. So I am going back again this week with my husband and other friends.

First time here and it was really good! Prime rib was amazing and my wife said her shrimp was the best she had in awhile. Food was paced just right and we did not feel rushed at all.

Normally this place would be 4 or 5 stars for me BUT tonight and almost EVERY Tuesday night we have a terrible experience with one of the female bartenders. Tonight was especially terrible!!! She was very robotic and honestly one of the most least genuine people I have ever met. She is not personable, non-charismatic, and actually very bossy to her other male bartender. We will still come back but we will make sure we walk out when we see her.

I honestly didn’t expect to like this restaurant so much. The food was phenomenal and the service was just as good. I had the seared ahi tuna platter and the coconut shrimp for appetizers and the filet mignon for the main course. Both appetizers were cooked really well, but I liked the coconut shrimp a little bit more. The tortilla salad served with the shrimp paired very nicely with my filet mignon. Now let me tell you, I rarely ever finish my steaks. I’m a small girl so I can’t eat that much. That being said, I finished every last bit of my filet mignon. That’s a pretty big deal for me. It was just that good. Most places overcook their steaks, but not Firebirds. It was cooked a PERFECT rare. The meat was tender and it didn’t require a lot of chewing. The seasoning was very minimal so I was able to appreciate the natural flavors of the meat. There’s nothing bad I can say about this restaurant. I’m probably going to return, even though I live in New York.

The food here is amazing. Pricey for the area and for being in the mall but it’s worth it. The service is excellent, city status, waiters have excellent manners.

I’ve been wanting to try this place and I finally did. I had the Beef Tenderloin pasta which was flavorful and slightly spicy. However, the noodles were a little too hard. For dessert I had the Crème Brûlée cheesecake which was absolutely delicious and one of the best desserts I’ve had in a very long time. My table had great service, didn’t feel rushed and she was on top of the drinks with refills and anything else we needed but gave us space to talk and not interrupt. I will be back for sure.

I will say I disappointed with my $ 35 Porterhouse one of their new choices. It was a bad cut of meat one half was cooked ok the other half over cooked and flat, I sent it back and had to wait for a new steak, by this time my husband and daughters were finished. The manager was very nice but she also served my table with our waitress and how she didn’t notice this lousy cut of meat really astonished me. Their bread use to be good but this time it was old and very crusty. I may try one more time but for a family of 4 to spend $ 100 plus tip I really would like a better experience.

We pulled in to Firebirds a half hour before closing and received unrushed, top notch service. Nice southwestern atmosphere was interesting and inviting. Large tables are a plus. Appetizers were chicken tortilla soup and ranch onion rings. The soup bowl was on the small size and perfect. Not too filling. Generous toppings of fresh dices tomatoes, scallions, and a dollop of sour cream. Thick and hearty. Delicious. Not minced Onion Rings, panko breaded, had a nice crunch and we’re not greasy. ranch for dipping. We tried the wine on tap. Pinto Noir, chilled, fresh. The steaks really shine. The 7oz. filet, bacon wrapped, was perfectly medium to medium rare as ordered. The pepper crusted sirloin, also prepared exactly as ordered, was covered in crushed peppercorns. I loved it. We inquired about the flavor. A touch of smokiness made the food so savory. Food is prepared over hickory and oak chips which infuses the dishes with a nice amount of flavor. There where plenty of seafood and chicken dishes. Not to mention baby back ribs. I will surely return to explore the menu more!

This place was great! The prime rib was probably the best I’ve ever had(amazing sauces as well), and the loaded baked potato was delicious. We also loved the fresh oven-baked bread they give you at the beginning of the meal. The décor is really nice, including a nice open kitchen, and service was quick and attentive. The only things that were a bit of a let down were the BLT salad(my husband said it tasted like bacon bits), and although the Double Diamond signature drink looked pretty dazzling — it has a giant wedge of pineapple sticking out from the glass! — it tasted kind of artificial as well(probably from flavored vodka). I also wished they had more creative dessert options beyond the usual chocolate and crème brûlée suspects. Otherwise, the quality of the entrée alone is enough to bring me back!

The food can be very good, but it can also be poor to average, so that sums up to Firebird’s being, in the end, inconsistent. The last time I ate here, my filet was overcooked. No steakhouse should ever, ever overcook a STEAK… steak being their specialty and all. The steak was very hot(hadn’t rested), yet my side was cold. The bacon on my bacon-wrapped filet had mostly fallen off somewhere between the cook and me. I’ve ordered this meal multiple times before, and not experienced this problem. I’m providing this excruciating detail to demonstrate the execution problems in the kitchen. Any restaurant should be generating much more consistency in their food output, but especially a chain restaurant as Firebird’s is. The huge, beautiful bar located at the entrance seems to draw a big happy hour crowd. The cocktails I’ve ordered have ranged from very good, to watery and not exactly buzz-giving. Again, inconsistent. I got a martini once that was supposed to have blue-cheese-stuffed olives, but when I bit into one I found they were actually pimento stuffed olives with some blue cheese smashed over the end, to cover the pimento. Erm, amateur hour at the bar? Do they really hire such total rookie bartenders here? Thankfully our server took care of it. Service is generally better than the local average here, and sometimes even very good. But again, on my last visit, service was pretty poor. At this price point, that just doesn’t fly, but then again, poor restaurant service is the standard for the local area(sadly). Generally, though, the food is pretty good, usually 4 and sometimes even 5 stars; I officially rank the entire experience at 3 stars, though, for the inconsistency, and because $ 125 for dinner for two is just way too much to pay if your food and/or drinks and/or service are poor, as they sometimes are. I’m happy to pay this price when they deliver! Unfortunately this does not always happen, so you’re taking a bit of a chance.

The food and prices earned this place one star, but the staff was friendly so I’ll give it a 2. Good for mall food? Maybe. I had a mixed greens salad with salmon, except it was mostly iceberg lettuce and the salmon was«meh». Dressing was ok. Barely ate half. My boyfriend had a smokehouse burger and said it tasted like a frozen patty. The cider slaw that came with was basically coleslaw made with Miracle Whip & a splash of vinegar; really bad! Thank goodness we didn’t order the $ 25+ entrees or I would be more upset. Will certainly never go back. I already have indigestion, from a salad :-/

Ate here with my wife last night. Picked this place based on Unilocal reviews so I felt it was only fair to write one. First, as many other reviewers have stated the place is beautiful. The bar area with fireplace is very well done. The dining area is very attractive as well. Our waiter Eric, was also prompt and attentive. Minor ding, he really didn’t know a lot about the menu selections nor was he able to confidently make any suggestions. When I asked how the salmon was he stated, «I don’t like fish.» Which of course is not a response that is too helpful. Other than that he was very good. My wife ordered the Caesar salad and the prime rib with a baked potato. I ordered a Cesar salad and the sesame salmon with fresh veggies. We received bread at the table which was good with whipped butter. The Cesar salad was excellent with a bit of spice to it which was different. Both meals were excellent, cooked to our liking. We ate every drop. For desert we split the carrot cake. It is large, warm and delicious with a side of caramel. It was the only thing we couldn’t finish because we were stuffed! Only other comment I could make is that this was a Tuesday night and the place only had 8 – 10 tables in the entire place seated. I wonder how loud it would get on a busy Friday or weekend night. It wasn’t quiet with just a few tables seated. I am teetering between 4 – 5 stars but went with 5 as there really wasn’t anything significant in our experience to ding them on unless you are just looking for a reason to be unhappy. Overall I am glad we chose this place and would definitely return if we are in the area.

Above average ambiance for the mall. Onion rings with buttermilk ranch appetizer very good. Children’s meal selection had great variety and nice sides. I ordered salad with steak which was cooked to my liking. However you would expect not to find TWO romaine stumps in the salad — why can’t restaurants get this right? Our server was lovely and attentive when at our table, however was split between too many tables and made it feel like an eternity to get her attent

If I visit a place with«Grill» in its name I’m going to order a steak. I was in the area on business and my fellow Unilocalers were saying good things so I stopped in. Monmouth mall is not exactly the classiest mall in the area so my expectations were not that high. I was pleasantly surprised. The bar area is stunning with a decidedly upscale atmosphere. In doesn’t feel like you’re in a chain restaurant and that’s a good thing. I decided to have my meal at the beautiful bar and take advantage of their excellent Happy Hour specials. Specialty drinks here are usually around $ 10 but for happy hour they were $ 5 and excellent. They also had wine specials and appetizer deals. This would be a great place to stop in after work. To begin my meal I chose New Orleans Red Bean and Andouille Sausage soup. It was red beans, andouille sausage, celery, bell pepper and sweet onion. It was good but a little thin for me and I would have liked bigger chunks of sausage. It was a nicely spicy and overall a tasty three stars. For my entrée I ordered the 12 oz. Pepper Crusted Sirloin. It comes with one side and I choose Sautéed Spinach. It arrived nicely plated. As you can see from my pic the steak had a black peppercorn crust which was exactly what I was hoping for. It was cooked to a perfect medium as requested. It tasted great but was slightly tough. The spinach was not overcooked and delicious. It was a very enjoyable four star meal. Throughout my meal my bartender/waitress was excellent so no problems with service. Now a few words about pricing– Many folks are used to having a steak at joints like Outback, Texas Roadhouse, or Longhorns. At the high end there are fine dining establishments like Ruth’s Chris. If there is a gap between them, these folks are filling it. Here you are going to experience a much nicer atmosphere than an Outback and you are going to enjoy much more sophisticated adult libations. You are also going to devour a better meal. Of course, you should expect to pay for it. If you plan on alcohol with your meal the tab for a steak dinner will easily be in the $ 30’s and maybe $ 40’s if you like those $ 10 specialty drinks. To me its worth is and I happily award these folks four stars.
