We’ve been coming here for years and have never been unhappy with the clam shack until our last visit. Was very disappointed upon receiving our food only to realize that they no longer automatically come with the usual side of French fries(even though the price for the sandwiches was the same as last year, when sides were included). Sure, it’s seafood and prices tend to rise but do they really expect people to pay $ 3.50 just for a side of fries? If we hadn’t already waited a long time for our food maybe we would have ordered the fries but I don’t think they are with that much. Might as well go to mcdonalds instead. It would’ve at least been smart of them to warn customers while ordering, I’m sure a lot of them made the same mistake as we did by not noticing on the menu. Our lobster rolls were great, but we cringed at the fact that we spent 40 dollars on two sandwiches that didn’t even come with French fries. It’s unfortunate to be disappointed with this joint. Next time we’re in the area I’ll be sure to go to the more reasonably priced restaurant around there, No. 1 China.

The clam cakes are great. The fried clam are good too along with the creamy tarter sauce. The Red chowder was spicy and needed more substance. Unfortunately the prices are so high. I dont see how families can afford this. Its too bad. Would be a nice dinner and a night out for a family but the stress of paying the bill wouldnt be worth it. Cup a chowder is 5 and change. The clams are 14 no sides like cole slaw and bread. I hope the prices get reduced. I get it. You need to make a profit. But not 4 or 5 times. Help let families enjoy the park the outdoors the movies the car shows and being together.

I’ve had enjoyable experiences at Blount’s in Warren and thought it’d be nice to try this location. Parking is plentiful, they have a nice number of picnic tables, and it’s in a really nice area. Most of our meal was excellent(clam cakes, clam strips, whole belly clams), but my lobster roll was a complete disappointment. I bought the giant roll for $ 20 and was satisfied with the amount of lobster, but it was 100% tasteless. I had to douse it with salt, pepper, hot sauce, and butter to get some flavor which pretty much negates why you spend $$$ for lobster. The meat was watery, almost like if I squeezed it I would see water pouring out, so maybe that’s what contributed to the lack of flavor? I plan to return but will try something other than the lobster, as I was prepared to give 4⁄5 stars based on the other items but $ 20 for a tasteless lobster experience was a letdown. I’ll try again.

This is without a doubt the biggest waste of time and money! We were in RI visiting the Roger Williams Zoo. So we looked on Unilocal for an outdoor seafood place. We wound up driving 8 miles to visit this clam shack due to the 4 star rating. It was pretty, pretty bad. First off no Lobster rolls second no carbonated beverages(soda machine was broken) water only available. Got a platter and it was missing cole slaw and tartar sauce. The cole slaw was spoiled and the tartar was watery. Lastly the fish was stringy and certainly not fresh. We had better from Gortons. Save your money and get a filet o fish from mickey d’s.

Great clam shack. What a clam shack is supposed to be. Make it a point to go and you won’t be disappointed. Clam cakes with chorizo were delicious and loved the lobster roll with butter and nice crispy fries.

Great setting and ambiance. The food wad fantastic. I would suggest you call your order in about 15 minutes before your arrival so you can avoid the long lines. Plenty of seating so you can walk up to the pick up window and go eat. Lobster roll and chowder were on point.

Great little pit stop! Lunch or even an outside in the park dinner. Lotsa choices on the menu, they have a nice variety of good eats but the center of attraction is the clam dishes. After eating… head on over to the carousel and spin those calories away. Nice way to melt away a few hours of tranquillity. Enjoy!!!

I officially like this location more than Warren. Same great menu — with the added new addition of chorizo clam cakes — but with the brilliance of Bullocks Point(carousel! grassy park! nearby beach! fewer crowds! more parking!) It was the perfect Friday night date spot. We got our combo plate and clam chowder to go, brought some beers from home, and took our food right onto the beach — just a few minute walk from where we ordered. Because it was a Friday there was live music — as well as an outdoor movie playing in the nearby park. And of course, corn hole. Looking around I thought to myself — this is my backyard, but for many people it’s a dream vacation. The food is standard clam shack — don’t expect to be floored. But the ambiance and experience is hard to beat — take your pick between picnic tables listening to live music, across the street at the picturesque park, or right on the beach!

staff, food and live music was fantastic. I recommend going leave time for a ride on the carousel next door or just take in the view of the bay.

It was a beautiful day for our late lunch outside. We were able to watch some sailboats go by. Food was great. Big belly clams — yummy!

Went there yesterday, quiet afternoon there for such a nice day. Finding your way into the parking lot the first time is a little difficult, but once there, it was nice. People at the counter were friendly and the menu was easy to read. I got the large lobster roll with a clam cake and they were great! The lobster had no mayo on it with a side of butter. The cost was a little high but well worth it. Will definitely be stopping by again to see what else in the menu I’ll like

My wife and came to ride the carousel and ended up eating here for lunch. We had the New England clam chowder and a half dozen clam cakes. The chowder was piping hot and loaded with clams. Very tasty. We ordered the clamcakes with chourico. The clamcakes were nice and light. Unfortunately, the chourico overpowered the clams in the clamcake. I would definitely order them the traditional way — sans chourico should we return.

Clam chowder was amazing! This is a go to place around the neighborhood. Too bad they are only around seasonal. Staff were friendly too. They seemed energetic and likes the job. Im addicted to their clam chowder now!

Didnt feel like commuting to Warwick for Iggys so we agreed to stay local and get Blount at Cresent Park this past Sunday. I was suprised that it wasnt super busy for a holiday weekend. The order was simple; 3 bowls of white chowder and a dozen clamcakes. We ordered from the regular window instead of express because we wanted our clamcakes nice and hot. The wait was 10 to 15 minutes, not bad. Well we were’nt happy at all with our clamcakes. They tasted like they had been sitting around for a while and they put this dried up nasty chourice in them. The chowder was tasty but not thick and creamy like it should be. Next time we’ll make that trip to Iggys

They have added a pretty sweet lobster claw themed bike rack for anyone wanting to pedal to the shack! They have also added those light up coasters that buzz when your order is ready — I really like that since I can trot the pup around while we wait without having to stay within ear shot. I gotta say — my first trip this season was as great as expected. Friendly people serving delicious clam shack food with a carousel and gorgeous park as the backdrops. We shall be back many times this summer and I can’t wait!

The service at the counter was friendly and helpful. The giant lobster was huge and completely worth your money, my partner and I split it with a single clam cake and we were full and happy. Perhaps the mayo mix could use some more dill and celery? But the lobster meat was perfect! And the clam cake was riddled with clams :)

It’s a great place for chowder and clam cakes or any seafood you might be craving. Most of the food of the menu is good. Not to crazy about the burgers because they are steamed. They don’t skip on the clams either like most places do which is a good thing. I mean after all it is a clam cake right and not a dough cake. We like to go on Saturday night also for the small car show they have. Save a trip to the beach and try this place you can’t go wrong.

This is only a couple blocks from my house so I have been here many times. Its good and fresh, with a really nice spot near the park and carousel. It seems a little pricey but what are you gonna do. Shrimp, scallops, and whole belly clams are nice. I think they could do a little better on the haddock. But for a seasonal clamshack right around the corner, it’s a winner to me.

I’m a little surprised there are no reviews for this Blount location. It’s situated right by the Riverside Carousel and if you visit on Saturday evenings in the summer, you’ll be lucky enough to catch a classic car show. Service is slow but the Fried Whole Belly Clam Roll was very good. Friend fries were a bit soggy and drinks were expensive but if you’re in the area and you’ve got a hankering for some New England clam shack goodies, Blount will definitely satisfy you.
