Love the food truck and now there’s a combine et food court location in a good mall. Awesome! Great tasty pork, good crispy bread, and tasty potatoes on the side.

Wow glad I hit Unilocal when I took a stroll past the food court deciding where to eat. I got the original sandwich and it was unreal. So good, pork was tender, cheese perfectly melted, roll had a crusty outside but perfectly moist and fluffy, and the mustard had that real mustard bite. The rosemary potato wedges were ok but the sandwich was the highlight. Go here if at the mall!

So, you find yourself in the mall food court with great hunger. Amidst the heaps of garbage(Taco Bell, chick-fil-a, and 5 dollar mystery meat stir fry huts) you see this local place. If you choose here, you will win the food court. Pork is moist, delicious. Hot sauce is both hot and saucy. The aioli is delicious. Slaw was great. All around an A+ meal. I went to the food court expecting to sate my hunger with a garbage input. Instead, a delicious treat. Eat here. Now!

This place is amazing! And it’s in a food court?! I didn’t think it possible to find food this good in a food court. It’s the first non mobile location for them, food trucks is what they do. When we visited the food court a few weeks ago we assumed they did barbecue, and were disappointed to see that’s not what’s on their menu. But a few days ago we were back and decided to try it nonetheless. We regret ever doubting this place!!! I got the pork Reuben, I think that’s what it was called. The flavors… The tenderness… Perfection. Also got the crispy Rosemary potatoes and they’re DEFINITELY worth writing home about. They get their spices down so well, there’s nothing I hate more than dried out bland pork. Thank heavens above that this was NOT that, it was delicious. So don’t be disappointed with the menu and make the same mistake of having one less meal from this place that we could’ve. You will love it. Oh and as one reviewer mentioned, he considers it «North Carolina porchetta.» On talking with the employee, they use a baby pig in the traditional porchetta dish in Italy. That didn’t go over too well here in the states, so they replace baby pig out with pork belly. If you want to consume a poor baby pig, then ya, I understand why this wouldn’t be your type of place, PETA wouldn’t be too pleased with you if you wanted that;)

Delicious and inexpensive. What a treat to find this in a food court! I had the beef taco and a side of local greens and both were excellent.

I think this is the best food court option. I got the southerner sand which. The pork was tender and had a hint of rosemary which I loved. I got a side of local greens and they were amazing. They cooked them fresh and I loved how they stuck thinly sliced Brussels sprouts in there!

I walked into the food court area of Streets of South Point and thought I had to settle for the garden variety Chinese, pizza or McBurger. Much to my pleasant surprise they had two unique options. I first saw Porchetta. And since I am an unabashed meat and pork lover I had to try Porchetta for the first time! The young man at the counter greeted me warmly. My personal favorite hoagie is an Italian, so it was an easy choice for me. The marriage of an Italian hoagie and a Cuban was seamless the Black Forest ham, slow cooked pork, and the Italian Guadiaro was the real hero of the this hoagie! I was glad that the young man asked me if I wanted to add a side. I am a fan of ABF(anything but fries). And the choice was easy for me. I am a huge fan of slaw’s. So I ordered the Apple Horseradish slaw. To me this one small side was the hero of the night. The crisp crunch of the cabbage, the hidden sweetness of the Apple but the tang of the horseradish was fabulous. So if you are a meat eater and slaw fan you have to stop by during your Christmas shopping and give Porchetta a try. I know I will!

I love the Porchetta food truck and would sometimes find them at a brewery or food truck rodeo just to get a pork sandwich. I am so happy for Nick and the other owner because they have gone beyond the truck to open a successful venue in the middle of the Southpoint food court. Porchetta was offering a groupon for a few weeks so we went and used that yesterday to get their delicious sandwiches. I always get the Mediterranen on ciabatta and also tried the Cuban Italian for the first time. Both sandwiches were so fresh and tasty and the mall version is just like it is from the food truck. I like how they have a monitor showing their story and love how a local business like Porchetta and American Meltdown are competing with the chains in the food court. I would rather spend $ 7 on a fresh sandwich at the mall prepared with local ingredients vs a fast food combo meal. The service was great and the sandwich quality was just like the ones I remember from the food truck. Definitely check them out while shopping at Southpoint.

So… I’m a very Italian, Italian-American…Italian born and raised mother, 1st gen. Italian-American father… plus a plethora of cousins, aunts, uncles, etc… still living in Italy. I’m also a flight attendant for a major airline… You get the picture. Now I don’t typically write reviews, unless it was amazing or amazingly bad. I’m happy to report that for Porchetta… it’s gonna be really good! Pork is definitely not at the top of my list(I waaaay prefer beef and chicken). But Porchetta is a particular favorite of mine when I’m in Rome visiting my fam…’cause they know how to do it right. This establishment in NC… ALSO, to my astonishment, knows how to do it right. I got the plate(which included rosemary potatoes and a slaw). The pork is so extremely tender, juicy, and flavorful that their tag line mentioning salivating mouths is absolutely accurate! The rosemary potatoes are like my mama makes them… in other words, meravigliosi! The only thing I didn’t care for is the slaw… which has onions… which I hate… so I can’t blame them! Listen…if I lived near this place i would be as fat as the pigs they slaughter to make the porchetta! Do yourself a favor… and try it. Ignore the fact that it’s located in a mall and the higher prices(for a food court)…the quality and taste is where it’s at and as far as I’m concerned this IS phenomenal and worth it! Thank you Unilocal for the discovery… looks like I’m picking up more RDU trips!

I hate to say this, but I’ve tried the Southpoint location twice and it’s been meh… Honestly, it tasted like that insipid industrial NCBBQ that you can buy in big vats, gussied up with some«Italian» seasonings. Service was nice. There’s a large number of regional variations of «porchetta» within Italy. Sometimes it’s smoked; sometimes it’s just slow-roasted; sometimes it’s pork belly; sometimes it’s whole hog. This ain’t it, though. Maybe they should try calling it «North Carolina Porchetta». Sorry.

I first tried Porchetta’s food through their food truck and it was amazing. Now they have a place in the Southpoint food court and its still a perfect meal. Their pork is juicy, tender and hits the right spot every time. Service is very friendly and quick. A great place to shop if you’re looking for something a little more than shopping mall food.

I first discovered Porchetta at the dtr food truck rodeo and was relieved to find out they’d finally make it easier for us and have a stable location. Hooray, I won’t ever have to chase them down! Their sandwiches are so flavorful. I’ve gotten to try their hot & sweet as well as their green monster– neither have disappointed me. They put in 1⁄3 lb of pork for every sandwich. The ciabatta bread is great cause it can hold up all the meat+fillings but I will say that the bread can fill you up. Also, there is no diet-friendly option here. It’s pretty darn greasy. But it’s so darn tasty… Hmmm come here on a cheat day? Their crispy potatoes were very ordinary. I’d rather get five guys french fries right next door when I come back hehe Note, each sandwich runs at ~8 bucks without any sides or drinks.

I’m not sure about you, but I’m loving all the food trucks that have been taking up shop(brick and mortars) around town. Porchetta is the first of at least two(American Meltdown to open next) to take up shop at Southpoint Mall. I paid them a visit recently, thanks to Groupon for the little extra nudge, and was not disappointed. My date and I ordered The Italian Cuban($ 7.75 I pork, pickles, mustard, black forest ham, giardeniera, provolone, on a toasted hoagie roll) and The Hot Beef($ 7.85 I topped with giardiniera and hot peppers). We also ordered sides of the crispy rosemary potatoes and local wilted greens(FYI: 16oz fountain drink is $ 0.25 with the purchase of a sandwich and side, with FREE refills!). Everything we tried was very flavorful and something I’d order again, although the wilted greens were a little on the bitter side, they needed a touch of vinegar or lemon juice. Although, for a Food Court option, Porchetta is definitely winning in my books, and given the chance, I’d return for seconds!

New addition to the food court. Better than the truck bc they have more options. The Mediterranean and sweet beef were delish on this trip.

I love having PorchettaRDU where I know I can find them whenever I have a craving. It is also awesome to have a local food business in a mall food court occupied by the usual mass produced dreck. As a regular visitor to the food truck, my go to choice is the hot and sweet sandwich with porchetta, sweet red onion, and jalapeño. Juicy drippy goodness with a hint of fennel in the pork, the rich onion flavor, and a pop of spice from the peppers. The version of the sandwich at the Southpoint location today was tasty. But at the beginning of lunch, not busy at all, the pork was pulled from a pan and slapped on the sandwich basically cold. Not warmed up on the flattop or anything. Plenty of onion but three pieces of jalapeño maybe? Where’s the love people? I hope this was just a one time glitch. The folks behind the counter were mighty nice and all, but I know how good this food can be. Today it was just meh.

For $ 8 you can have a soft griddled Ciabatta. And soft slow cooked pork. And toppings like the Horseradish slaw and slivered apples on the Southern. And a drink, because why not. And for a buck you should tip the great service, almost as fast as you scarf down the delicious sandwich.

First of all, a food truck was so good they opened a spot in the Southpoint food court. Second, this isn’t food court food! Great smoked pork and grilled chicken. Farm to table tomato salads, slows and potatoes … Crispy Rosemary potatoes. They must have an amazing food truck!
