The best donuts around. Friendly owners and delicious(nutritious?) donuts. You can’t beat it. Pro tip: Show up around 9am on Saturdays for a warm, fresh maple bar. Just save one for me!

OMG! Best place to get Apple Fritters! Keep in mind they only make a few batches in the morning and they run out quick! They do make the second batch but you might have to wait! Best place to get donuts in Dublin! I will be coming back again and again! Ample room so you can sit down and enjoy your donuts with coffee! :-)

A coworker brought these into the office today. I have had alot of glazed donuts but this one was so yummy even the dough part was tasty. Look forward to going back and trying different donuts. :)

I love how spacious this place is, plenty of tables so I usually come in and can bring my homework and have a whole booth to myself! The donuts are delicious and I love how they give you a plate and coffee mug if your eating it there instead of assuming that your taking it to go! Free refills on coffee if you have it there and they are constantly brewing fresh batches due to the high turnover rAte

Finally! I’ve found my go to donut shop since moving back home. Cake donuts and yeast donuts are all very soft, pillowy, and moist! French crueller has a nice crunch on the top and is soft inside. I went in a little before 6am on a Wednesday and the selection was limited(only FC, standard yeast donut, donut holes, cake donuts were available) as they were still frying up the day’s donuts. They didn’t have any raspberry filling ready yet either but they did have custard filling ready. I’ll probably try coming around 7:00am or later next time. The glaze and icing on all their donuts are perfect in consistency and sweetness too. As mentioned in other reviews, they don’t skimp on filling! Some may think it’s a little TOO much filling, but I appreciated it! a Half Dozen is $ 5.50 but may change based on what you order.

Authentic 1970s vibe. Probably the best glazed donut holes I’ve ever had… Buttery delicious! They also fill custard donuts to order right in front of you which is cool. My brother is a huge fan of their maple bars and apparently other people are too because by 8:30AM they were sold out. Fortunately they had more in the oven; it was worth waiting for. They served our hot maple custard bars on plates and brought them to the table :) Incredible service for a donut shop. Johnny’s also offers coffee and apple juice(part of my criteria for«five star yum»). Check it out.

Update. Its been 8 years since my original review of Johnny’s and like fine wine, this place got better with age! Over the past 8 years I’ve had some significant life changes. I got married, popped out 3 kids but my constant was Johnny’s. This was the place where I came to to stress eat and to celebrate special occasions with the kids. Johnny’s by far has the best donuts in the Tri-Valley. Yes, better than the Donut Wheel, Dainty’s, Best, Heritage, Donut King, and Jelly’s(I’ve tried them all). My standard«go to» donuts are: Chocolate Raised Apple Fritter Maple Bar Maple Raised Cinnamon Roll Sprinkles with white frosting(kids favorite) Donut holes If you get there early enough(around 6AM) you can get fresh donuts that are still hot! When ever I bring donuts to the office I often hear«OOOOOooooooo Johnnys»!!! They’re also a hit with my co-workers as well. Another great thing about Johnny’s is that they’re community oriented. I often see flyers and poster hanging on their window promoting an up coming community event. Johnny’s is a Dublin institution and is a must try if you’re in the area.

I have never set foot into this shop. However, my husband and daughter occasionally bring home donuts when they go out for breakfast on Sundays. I have tried enough of their donuts to write a review. After a long hiatus, we were due for a donut run today. 2 words: French Crueller. I have never been a FC kinda of girl. The original glaze was my go to. My next favorite is their jelly filled. When I 1st had one, I thought it needed more filling. My husband shared this feedback with. Not long after, there was more filling. They listened! There are fruits pieces and just fake food coloring filling.

I say Apple you say Fritter. This was one of the best apple fritters that I’ve had. It was slightly cold since I went mid day, but I can’t even imagine how good it will be freshly made. $ 1.95 for the fritter is a fair price for a pretty big piece. I’ll be back to this local mom & pop shop.

Phenomenal donuts!!! Mr & I stopped by since we were in the area & chose the following: Choc iced bar — had them fill it w/custard & they put at least 5 pumps in there — it was SO heavy & ladden w/custardy goodness. I have now been ruined for all other eclairs! Mr chose the Raspberry Jelly Filled & he was loving the powdered sugar coating on the super-saturated jam filled donut. Again, these people know how to fill a donut! Offering sprinkles, crumbles, plain cake, raised-glazed, & frosted varieties, from regular to filled donuts & bars, to cinnamon rolls & fritters, you’ll definitely find a good dozen or so to love here at Johnny’s

Hot Diggety! I picked up a dozen and a half of donuts for a coworker who was leaving for a new job. Everyone at the office raved about how delicious they were. These remind me of true East Coast style donuts. Soft, a bit of chew to them and nice flavor. Maple Bars are delicious. Apple Fritter(one of my favorites) was gorgeous, a bit crispy and with the perfect amount of sugar glaze. nomnomnom. Absolutely delicious and I will be back!

It was my first time going here, I was really craving donuts. So I was looking up places here on Unilocal that had good reviews, decided to go here. I ended up trying their cruellers because I read how good they were unfortunately mine had a BUG in it! Good thing I piece out my donuts rather than eating it as a whole. Just very disappointed and disgusted. Really concerns me if there were anymore in my other donuts that I ordered but I didn’t even bother eating it anymore.

Other donut shops come here to sweep the crumbs off the floor to make their donuts. Every person I know that’s a donut«connoisseur» that’s tried one of these always says«wow, these are really good». Load up a dozen and feed them to those you love. It’s a nice little Sunday morning treat.

I go here about once a month to bring back goodies for the family breakfast. I’d like to do it more often, my spare tire wouldn’t appreciate it as much though. They have a good selection and keep cooking throughout the morning so they don’t run out as quickly as some other places I’ve been to and thought they have their low moments I’ve seen them restock while I’ve been in line. The raised donuts are fluffy, the cake donuts are moist, and the fillings never have that metal taste I run into at some donut shops. I’m really happy with this place.

Went there Sunday morning at 8 to try it out(donut craving!) I have to say the apple fritter is amazing. I think it’s about 3 – 4 donuts in one, so you better be starving, but it’s pretty delicious. Crispy Apple and glaze, but soft pillowy donut underneath. The place is cute too. Good lazy Day morning. Cute little café area. Relaxed atmosphere. I enjoyed.

Such good doughnuts, we always buy them here. They make them fresh and they have a nice variety too. Make sure you go early to get the doughnut you want, they sell out fast! Prices are good, everything is pretty cheap. You can sit inside and eat or take them home

Big fan of the crullers and cake donuts here. My favorite donut shop in the area. Much better than your average donut shop. Knocking one star off because I once got a dry chocolate bar which was a disappointment. I didn’t finish it.

Great local joint. It has the look and feel of an old school donut shop. Tiny rectangular napkins, coffee pots, and booths with vinyl seats. Get there early because their crullers and donut holes sell out fast. Ask them to fill a glazed donut with cream. It is amazing! They don’t sell Boston Cream Pies but can make an adhoc one. The employees and owners are friendly and the service is fast. Located directly next to Blossom Bee restaurant(great Thai curry crepes there btw!).

What do you want in a donut shop? Johnny’s is like Cheers for my kids. We walk in and the regulars know us. We have friends there… that when I’m on a diet, I miss. Their donuts are tasty and fresh. I grew up in Dublin going to Johnny’s donuts. I doubt I have a very objective perspective but, that’s what I want in a donut shop. They accept credit cards for purchases
