Great Clips

The hairstylist MOHINDER has a really bad attitude. Apparently, she doesn’t like my country (which she clearly mentioned atleast 5 times) literally in a disrespectful way. All I wanted was a haircut and not her bullshit views on country and religion.
HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL. NEVER GOING BACK THERE.

I messed up my kid’s hair. She had long hair, I got sick of her screaming while I brushed it, I cut it off. I am not a stylist. I suck. So we came here and they fixed it best they could. They tolerated her crying and not sitting still. It looks much better. Thanks!

Probably went about 4 times now. At first I tried to see one specific person but I’ve seen a couple different stylist now and have to say… consistent. «last time you use #2, same with a little trim on top?» YES. I’m a fan!

The long haired Vietnamese lady cut my hair in 5 minutes and charged me $ 16. Bad attitude and bad service! Will never go there again!

What you pay is what you get. If for $ 16 you are expecting to look like a Hollywood star, you need to reset your expectations. I’ve been going to this store for over a year– the stylists here are a hit or a miss. Most of the Asian stylists are pretty bad, and you should particularly avoid the older ones, they generally don’t have a clue of what they are doing. And this is not meant to be a stereotype or a derogatory comment, but just an observation from having been here over 10 times in the past year and having had my hair ruined number of times. If you choose to go, please book appointments online as the wait can be long sometimes. Best times to go are weekday afternoons. Good luck!

Actually 3.5 stars. So far both haircuts were fine. My kid’s cut was not good though, next time have to ask them to use scissors rather than electric trimmer.
The place is busy and too small. Rows of chairs are too close so it feels crowded.

Hair cut– I was contacted by their performance manager who apologized for the service I received and offered other alternatives to rectify the dissatisfied service. Great to know that they care about the quality of the service and will definitely try their service once again.
Always very pleased when businesses care about their customers and are willing to work with them to rectify any issues!
Will update the review once again when my little one receives her next haircut.

Recommend it compared to other hair cutting place. Millions times better!!! I always enjoy getting my haircut here. I recommend Jennifer she’s awesome.

Son and husband tried this place a few times over the last 2 years because of convenience and almost everytime it’s completely AWFUL!!! Only one person knows how to cut hair okay and she isn’t there alot.

This place is reallyyy bad. After telling the lady with white hair three times on how to cut my hair but she just didn’t get it. Also I tried to show her a video on how to cut my hair. She really ruined my thanksgiving by giving me the worst haircut. I would recommend you to please not go here. Go anywhere but not here.

Only thing is the convenience that is good here. I guess this is typical with most barber chains. They don’t really spend time on the haircuts and can finish a guy’s cut in less then 10 minutes. Every other barber I have been to spends much longer. Not to mention the price is pretty high for such a rush job.
Last time I was here they messed up my cut. I asked for a mid fade and to my surprise there is no fade. I ended up walking out with a 1 all the way around up to the top. How do you not do a fade? At least ask if you didn’t hear anything or miss heard. If you’re a barber you know that would look horrible.
Probably won’t be back. Not worth the risk of having that happen again.

Worst haircut for my kids that I have ever seen! And my child was already well-​behaved and not moving, they still didn’t do a good job. I do a better job than them. What a waste!

I have been getting haircut here for a very long time. About 6 years I think. My stylist is Jennifer and I have not had haircut from anyone else here so cannot say about other stylists.

Been going here for a while now and always had Petra cut my hair. She is just fabulous !! Never been once disappointed. Just love my haircut.

Came here looking for a haircut. I found a coupon in a mailer for $ 8 for new customers. The ad also said that they match coupons. They told me they would not honor that coupon… that’s only for Great Clips in Pleasanton. They offered $ 2 off a $ 16 haircut, which is still $ 6 more than the coupon I had in my possession. Luckily I asked about the coupon before getting my haircut, so I went to Sports Clips instead. I’ll gladly pay a little more to a place that doesn’t piss me off.
I understand not all Great Clips have the same owner, but when you’ve got one a few miles away that’s offering great coupons and offers matching competitors’ coupons, you really should honor them too. Imagine you went to Subway (which has many independently owned locations) expecting to get a $ 5 footlong, only to be told that they’re the one store in the area that doesn’t honor that. Even though the Subway location may have no legal obligation to honor what nearby stores are offering, I would never set foot inside there again. And the same goes for Great Clips. I hope the reason you refused my coupon because business is so good that you don’t me coming in… because I won’t be coming back.

I have been going here for a few years now, since I’m not super picky about my haircut and don’t expect a $ 50 look for $ 16. But I am never coming back here ever again.
The workers are very nice and welcoming, customer service is NEVER an issue. But the newer hairdressers are absolutely horrid. Half of them are OK, but the other half will make you look as if a rabid dog has ripped out most of your hair.
This last time I went I was in a hurry. Since I wear glasses I can’t see the details of my haircut unless I go to the bathroom to check once we’ve finished.
When I had time to finally examine my haircut at home to my horror.
1. Sideburns clearly uneven, by a good quarter inch.
2. Tuft of longer hair toward the back which she clearly missed when combing hair.
3. But the worst part was that she had shaved the part above (and to the front of) my sideburns ON ONE SIDE ALONE.
I believe Tiffany was her name (don’t quote me on that). I’m disappointed that they will hire anybody with no experience, while the other half are actually decent hairdressers for a chain.

Do not go here unless you want an eighty year old arthritic grandmother doing your hair.
I just wanted soft curls and she tried to do it with a FLAT IRON. Then, she had to ask someone else how to do it.
Now I have to get it fixed before a party tonight. Never EVER again.

I was having an extremely busy few weeks and needed a quick, basic taper cut. I decided to drop by Great Clips on my way home since the Unilocal reviews for this location are decent. My barber was an older Asian lady and although she was visibly trying her best, she clearly had no idea what she was doing.
Upon «completing» the haircut she removed my cape halfway and asked me to style my own hair. After I did so, we both noticed the uneven tufts of hair protruding from the crown of my head. We glanced awkwardly at one another and she proceeded to quickly «remedy» the situation by free-​hand clipping the area. She did it so fast that I didn’t even get a chance to ask her to put the cape back on.
Instead, I left Great Clips looking like a cactus with hair all over my clothes, an uneven taper, uneven sideburns, and a $ 20 lighter wallet.

Great store. Neilo has been my families hair stylist since she has been there. I never have to tell her anything, she takes notes, and gives me the cut that I am always very happy with. Frankly, even expensive stylist stores dont give this kind of service, and given the volume of customers she sees, I am quite impressed by the personal touch I get from her. Great lady, great attitude, and most importantly great hair dresser. Keep it up.

This review (and updated rating) is for not just the haircut, but the entire process.
Shortly after I wrote my last review, the owner of the location contacted me and offered me a refund and asked if I wouldn’t mind giving the location another chance with a different stylist. I agreed, and decided to go back.
The haircut itself was performed by someone else, and while it wasn’t perfect, it is similar to what I would have gotten from any other chain in the area. The haircut itself merits 4 stars. The contact with the owner definitely makes this a 5 star place.
