So terrible! I’ve been to a couple but the one at this location in Duarte. The customer service at the counter was decent but it already has been 20 minutes and yet I have not received my food! Really? Wow! Never again to this location!

There’s always a really long wait to get your food, at this flame broiler. They also ran out of broccoli?!

The meat actually quite tasty. Sometimes I have to wait a while for the order to be ready. I guess it depends who’s manning the stove, but generally the wait time is still acceptable. I usually order the bowl because larger plate includes fruit and salad which I don’t really care for. I wish they have a medium serving. Options are white or white rice. Onion used to be added but not is put on the side in little envelopes and you are welcome to help your self. The sauce varies from teriyaki(magic sauce), hot and super hot(green chili sauce). They don’t take Amex but do take Discover.

Love the food… it’s never to crowded. But even if it is you’ll get served pretty quick.

So my husband was eating«The Works» bowl and found a long brown hair entwined in between the rice, meat, and veggies!!! Disgusting! They just lost a whole lot of business! Too bad I have to give them even one star to post this!!!

Definitely a fan of flame broiler. Good food that seems fresh. Just wanted to point out that $ 5 chicken bowl banner in the front window. It’s a bit deceiving at first glance. In huge red letters it says $ 5. But after I got to the register the girl told me it $ 5.99. I agreed and ordered because I saw the relatively small .99 next to the huge red $ 5. I swear the same exact thing happened to the very next customer. Just saying…

Back when there wasn’t one by my house, I’d drive down here to get my beef bowl fix. Succulent pieces of marinated beef over steamed brown rice? Yum. Cheap and quick. Sometimes that’s what a girl craves. Haven’t tried their chicken bowl but the boo swears it’s good too and I know he’s got great taste, he’s with me right? It’s located in a shopping mall strip type so there is adequate parking. I haven’t dined in but the place looks clean and inviting enough. It’s a typical fast food joint.

Good option for a quick meal. The service is pretty fast and the staff is friendly. I do wish that they had an organic meat option.

This place is too healthy tasting for me. If you like the less sodium and sweet taste of teriyaki this is the place for you. I only get this when my coworker is picking up and I am too lazy to go anywhere else. I get the combo bowl. I kinda like the beef better than the chicken but the combo gives me the variety. I put Siracha on it and everything taste better. I don’t get the brown rice but you have an option to get it at no extra charge here. the place is clean and the food comes out pretty quickly.

I am from Long Beach and work in Irwindale. There’s a Flame Broiler a few blocks from my house, but decided to try this place for lunch to see what the deal is with this franchise. My first thought after having their chicken rice bowl is: how did this become a franchise? The menu is very simple. Rice bowls with meat(chicken or angus beef). While fresh, the taste is below-average; it’ bland grilled meat on top of rice, with a thick sauce(similar to soy sauce) and disgusting hot sauce offered on the side. Seriously, how did this become a franchise?

This place is sooo bunk. The food gives you the illusion of being healthy when it’s actually not that healthy. The carb contents of brown rice vs white is the SAME! For $ 6.49, I got the Works Bowl, a really small bowl with some really dry beef and dark meat chicken and steamed veggies and brown rice. That is such a rip! Everything is dry, no flavor, and they don’t even give you napkins. A tip from me if you’re looking for a healthy lunch and expect more. Go to Panda Express down the street, don’t order your combo with chow mein or fried rice, ask them to do ALLVEGGIE. Then for your sides, pick brocolli beef and terikayi chicken. They will put all your goodies in a regular sized plate not PACKED in a bowl where your food will fall out once you open it. That Panda Combo will cost about the same as this tiny ass bowl you get from Flame Broiler and will taste much better and be healthy. 0 Carbs, no rice, all veggies and meat.

This location is clean and the employees are friendly. They accept payments via NFC and currently have a deal for a chicken bowl + regular drink for $ 5.50. No idea when it will end but it has been going on for awhile. The magic sauce and hot sauce are delicious, as usual. Lots of protein in their chicken bowl. Good, healthy, affordable food — just like all the other Flame Broilers!

If I could give this place a negative star, I would and let me tell you why… A few days ago I received this message from the Unilocal member«wei w.» about my recent review of this location: «i dont know who u r? white, black, or whatever you are… first of all, i feel sorry if you don’t like our food, or style… but if we did anything wrong at customer servers… we closed at 9:00pm. we clean up at 8:30… i dont think is wrong… and we never kick you out of store… and… i am not a asian man… who are you to me, it just an a…» Yep that was the exact message I received in my Unilocal message box. Total misspelling and not exactly politically correct. I have a feeling this was sent from the owner or manager of this store? Or perhaps a disgruntled Unilocal reviewer that just felt in his or her heart to message me about my latest review. Well my response to that: Hmm, you should learn how to spell and write better English. It would also be in your best interest to let me just have my own brutal honest opinion of this horrible establishment(I am sorry but are you following this review because of the big words I’m using?) and maybe even tell me why you think my review was wrong. Can you prove me wrong? And heck yea it is freakin’ wrong to start cleaning up and putting up chairs on the tables while your customers are still eating and while your store is still open. It is considered to be rude period! But that’s okay, you keep on running this dump you call a restaurant. I am pretty sure this restaurant will eventually crumble like the former L&L Hawaiian BBQ that was there before you and then a new eatery will probably move in. Hope they don’t make the same mistake as you though. Hope other Unilocalers can see why this place doesn’t deserve such high marks. You may like Flame Broiler, but this location will make you not want to come back(well at least to the one here in Duarte).

Who doesn’t love a new flame broiler establishment, great ventilation! I sure do. Brand spanking new seats, bright coat of paint, friendly and attentive owner, all with the same good meal we all can love from any FB. Nugget loved the brown rice with his meal. Plus points for that! Note: each visit at this particular location gets me perfectly moist pieces of meat and/or chicken. I never have to worry about it being overcooked and dry.

I’ve heard about flame broiler and decided to give it a whirl for lunch while waiting for my car to get maintained. If i had to compare it to other places, yoshinoya would be the other choice that offers similar food. What makes flame broiler stand out? The idea is that it’s healthy grilled eating. Healthy eating to flame broiler means no MSG which is carefully advertised on their posters, no chicken skin, options such as brown rice, and all sauces are up to the individual. Neato! Sign me up for a works plate please with brown rice! What’s the works plate consist of? Chicken, beef, slaw salad, grilled vegetables, and an orange. The slaw salad is just that with a vinaigrette dressing that the server asks if you would like or not(again, going with the optional sauce theme). I opt’d for it because why would i want to just eat slaw salad? I’m a flavor fanatic! It was refreshing with crunch. The chicken and beef were also good. Small edible sizes with a nice flame broil taste to them. Combined with the brown rice and vegetables it was a good meal. Was it healthy? Ehhhhhhhhhhhh. Maybe. I still had to use sauce to eat my meal. I couldn’t just eat flame broiled chicken/beef, rice, and vegetables. That was just to bland for me. Their terriyaki sauce which they call«magic sauce» was at their fill station and i just put them into the small plastic cups and poured over small dabs over my food. I used 2 cups, but honestly, anyone could of just brought the plate over and slobbered the shit out of their plate with sauce. I didn’t feel any healthier after eating it, but i did feel full and satisfied for the price i paid.

Discovered that they are now in the SGV. I first discovered The Flame Broiler when I was out in Irvine. So After a visit to Costco, I decided to drive 3 miles to this location on the way home and grab this for lunch. This place is tucked into a decent sized strip mall. Its over on the right hand side of the mall — just a FYI. Its one of the biggest Flamer Broiler that I’ve ever been to — huge dinning area. I got there a lil bit before 11am and they were already open. I went with the Regular chicken bowl on white & no onions. Although I did see the cook picking out the effin onions out of my bowl. We’ll the food isn’t 5 star quality. I mean its just a basic teri bowl — rice, chicken and the sauce you put in on your own. So its pretty basic. But its good.

My first time here at the Flame Broiler. Turns out, it’s the Korean version of Yoshinoya. *heehee* Noya. Sorry, inside joke. Though I would have sworn that the owner was Chinese… Hmm, maybe I heard wrong. Plenty of parking, as it’s located inside this plaza. Ralph’s being the dominant store, Dollar Tree, Jamba Juice, Starbucks, UPS Store… Mom found it nice that they offer a free brown rice substitution. They also offer kimchi, though that’s not free($ 2.50, I think). Too bad… Used a Valpak coupon(buy one bowl and 2 drinks, get a second bowl free). Totaled to be $ 9.20. Not bad. The meat that they have: chicken and beef. Chicken is grilled and in small chunks. Beef is Korean BBQ style, but in small thin strips. I had my bowls with half veggies. It wasn’t very filling though, but that’s just me. There are two sauces on the condiment counter: Magic Sauce and Hot Magic Sauce; the former is essentially teriyaki and the latter is hot sauce. There’s also jalapeño slices provided as well. Soda fountain by the sales counter. Powerade is an option, as well as various iced tea flavors. Then there’s Coke, Coke Zero, and Diet Coke. I forget the rest. Fanta Orange? Individual(single occupancy) men and women’s restrooms. Spacious. Serviceable. Not sure if I’m a fan yet, but the price is right. Location is okay. Food is okay. So I guess it’s a-OK.
