Cheap place, but the server was nice(I gave extra star for him). Nothing edible(for me) at the salad bar and chinese food. The soup smelled funny. Buffet wasn’t bad but the sauce was… eeeuk. Maybe I shouldn’t follow their recipe.

New owners :(Although friendly have upped the prices. My boyfriend and I have been coming to this place for years. We like that the new owners tried to spruce up the place, but the price raise means we will no longer be driving over here when we can just go to the mall. Lunch used to be $ 6 before tax now it’s $ 7.45(1 bowl/1 trip) or $ 8.45 ayce & dinner used to be $ 8 before tax now it’s $ 8.99(1 bowl/1 trip) or $ 9.99 ayce. The workers are all the same so we like seeing the friendly faces, but it just doesn’t make sense for us to drive out from Arcadia to eat here when we can pay the same price closer to home. Food tastes exactly the same & they’ve added turkey so that’s a plus. We won’t be coming back unless we are in the area.

All you can eat, pretty fresh ingredients and a good price. What else could you ask for in the world of Mongolian BBQ? Well a good chef doesn’t hurt, and the man behind the steamy grill is very good at what he does. The service isn’t the best in the world mostly because they are understaffed. Small businesses usually suffer from that, but I support them anyway when they deliver a good product. A mild twist to the place, they have limited chinese food too. Soups and fried rice. I think the last time I went I even saw pinto beans – so maybe they swap in a little Mexican sometimes too? I don’t bother with that stuff. I only eat the Mongolian. Enjoy!

My last review was 2 stars, but im bumping it to a 3 for effort based on the new owners effort to spruce up the place. The place needed a lot of TLC so when I noticed the new street sign and the place closed for remodel… I was excited! Unfortunately, they didnt do much to the interior except for a new paint job. Antique non working fans are still in place along with other interior things that if changed would make the dining experience more pleasant. With that said, the food is good and the service is fine as well. The employees that work the kitchen and grill are really really nice people. I hope the new owners value them and keep them since their one of the reasons we keep coming back.

It’s the most bang for your buck lunch or dinner you’ll ever find around town. All you can eat mongolian bbq! All the ingredients are pretty good and the workers are really nice. This place has never let me down and I’ve been coming here every once and a while for years.

Cheap, like everyone says. Good Mongolian BBQ but stay away from the noodles. We’ve been coming here like 20 years and Kaysa, the Owner, is always friendly. Yes she is alone most of the time but she does manage to get all our drinks right by memory and always brings us fresh hot Chinese bread. The BBQ is only as good as you make it, so pay attention and you’ll have a good meal. Personally I love adding heaps of pineapple and garlic !

It’s priced reasonably enough, but it’s just not good enough. Poor flavor leads me to believe poor ingredients. Yes, even when you sauce the living daylights out of it. It’s close to home and the office, I guess that’s enough to say«I know I’ll be back» Whether or not it’s by choice is the real question. I will say, however, my experience with the service has always been fine.

This place is disgusting. I can’t believe all the 3 star reviews? Just because its cheap? Walked in at 7:45 on a Saturday, no service, that’s fine. It was busy and the woman said none of her servers showed. Go up to the service line, the plates and bowls all seemed dirty. The tongs for the meat were all down in the ice chests, laying on top of the meat — gross. The pork and lamb meat looked too dark, like it was bad — smelled bad. The sauces all had dropped food in them. The mongolian BBQ was undercooked, served to me on a plate that had burn stuff(leftover from the dirty grill) on it. The chinese buffet options looked like they had been sitting all day. Couldn’t find a health department score posted anywhere. Seriously stay away from this place. Started feeling sick as soon as I left. Been doing shots of Pepto today. If you’re really concerned with cheap food. Go to the mongolian bbq place in Azusa, its clean and the owner seems to care.

Well hubby and I came here last time many months ago, he said«the meat tastes funny almost sour » … We were hungry last week, decided to come again and couldn’t remember why we couldn’t remember any fond memories of this place. It is true, bang for your buck but the meat does taste sour, and anything else in the buffet has been sitting around FOREVER, egg rolls and everything fried were soggy, even the short ribs look atrocious . If you like quantity over quality and taste then maybe this is your place. Well guess what, hubby said the exact same thing(meat tastes sour) and soon as i left, in the parking lot, i threw up a lil. then i got home and i experienced a «full refund » … i am sure it depends on the cook making your food but goshdangit, this guy really dried all my meats . SO it is official, we are not returning EVER. Something made me sickies :(not worth it for me. Overall nothing really spectacular, i saw many workmen types, who come here with a big appetite, this place works for them, you can get many hefty plates, but i would rather have ONE great tasting plate, than 3 – 4 flavorless dried ass plates.

ok… let me just say 2 things before i write this review 1) i came here many many times before cause everytime i visit my friend in LA, this is where we go to eat, all you can eat lunch for less than $ 6…CANTBEATIT! ALLYOUCANEATFORLESSTHAN $ 6??? R U KIDDINME? u cant even get NUMBERONE for $ 6NOWDAYS, AMERICA F**K YEAH!!! 2) this place is fuckin HILARIOUS… i live in San Francisco… and this shit WILLNOTFLY in SF, NOSIR, NOTINMANYMANYYEARSTOCOME, ONLYINDUARTE so im pretty sure this place used to be a legitimate house… until one day the owner(this really nice, chinese lady) just SNAPPED for no reason and destroyed all the walls and created this bigass open space, like Susan L said, the owner is the waitress! U HAVEHERANDTHEMEXICANGUYWHOSWORKINGTHEGRILL, THATSIT! n they have this STRANGE bar area where u see the beer tabs right next to these bigass, giant WOKS w animal grease in it, n there are no stools to sit down. its a buffet style where u put all these different types of raw meat, veggie, sauces, and noodles and u give it to the mexican guy and hell just grill it for u, they also have fried rice/chow mein/hot soup/fried wonton station as well as the dessert station, its not the FRESHEST stuff(u know how u can tell when diced onions are all dried up and shriveled…), but i guess its edible, and the meat is frozen but they added more water to it before they freeze it so it looks FREAKINBIG but once u put em on the grill it shrinks like a man’s genitalia right after masterbation… n they also watered down the SRIRACHA hot sauce… like really? COM’ON! who waters down sriracha??? do we not live in the 21st century??? it gets PACKED here tho during lunch time, i see these bigass guys come in and eat like 3,4 plates w each plate stacked to the top… most bang for the buck i guess, and they give out these CHEAPASS fortune cookies, theyre so bad it feels like im chewing on paper dipped in glucose… and the dessert station… i dont even recognize half the stuff they got there… all i know is they have some cookies and oranges… some sour ass oranges… …but i dont wanna embarrass the nice lady no more, i mean im probably one of the biggest fans of this place if not the biggest, n the lady kind of reminds me of my mom a bit, slightly clueless but super nice and just… mommy, all the jokes aside, its not like ure gonna get food poisoning from eating here, like i said the ingredients may not be the freshest, but itll do the job and its 6BUCKS for AYCE!!! i always stop by everytime im in da area! 314783912471239 stars

Easy to see how this place keeps their prices so low, flavorless food, and very limited service. The owner/waitress is literally the only person to wait on you. It is all you can eat, and it is buffet style. It’s not like she has to take your food order or bring you food. But one woman for an entire restaurant. doing all the drink orders, refills, picking up plates, checks, etc. Pretty ridiculous. They really need to hire an additional waitress. This woman is running around like a chicken with its head cut off, and she’s obviously stressed and grumpy. but that is no excuse for rudely telling my friend when he asked for a refill«Hold on, others are ahead of you». seriously? lol Luckily I had low expectations before dining here, based the Unilocal reviews I read. I was satisfied with the low quality food and limited options. The rice was not sticky at all, really weird. Did not taste good. The chow mein they had looked and tasted awful. The mongolian bbq itself was okay. Could have had more options, and I would suggest using more sauce than they recommend. Or maybe putting some on after they cook it, because mine was pretty flavorless even though I felt like I used a lot of sauce. Also, the noodles used for the bbq were kind of chewy and undercooked. They literally gave us fortune cookies on a tray that you would receive a bill on, not individually wrapped. That is obviously not sanitary. Stuff like this makes me doubt when a place has an A, which this place does. One thing we all seemed to notice towards the end of our meal was this awful sewage smell. We figured it was coming from the bathrooms, but one of my friends seemed to think it was coming from the air vent in the ceiling. So it would come and go depending on when the air was on or not. Really disgusting, last thing you wanna smell while eating. Also, on Google Maps this place is listed as «permanently closed». when I called to find out if they were open I mentioned this, but since English is not the owner’s first language, it was impossible to get her to understand what I was trying to tell her. It worked out for my group after our hike at Fish Canyon Falls, and it was cheap, but I would definitely not be back.

I got out of this AYCE place with tax, tip, and a drink for 10 bucks flat. This is the best AYCE you can possibly hope for at this price. The hot and sour soup was surprisingly delicious. Pack on the meat, it shrinks so much. Infinite almond cookies.

I think I’m just going to average out the three existing reviews of the place for a final score, just because I don’t think a 3 is how I feel about the place. I’m a fan, so that’s a 4. Cheap AYCE Mongolian BBQ for a great price, particularly for lunch. You just have to time when you go(avoid lunch rush; lunch prices end by 3pm), otherwise the flaws of the place become more apparent(missing food trays, slower service). I have NEVER eaten dinner here before, as the lunch prices is the appeal of the place.

Would of never found this place if it wasnt for a coupon that I had. Price before the coupon was already amazingly great for an all you can eat restaurant. Under $ 8 you get to eat all the mongolian bbq you want plus others, which I didn’t really try cuz the mongolian bbq was delicious enough! I gotta say sometimes the veggies dont look the best, but with even that being said it still wasnt bad. Meat section is the typical frozen beef brisket and sliced chicken. They also had pork and lamb that I didnt get to try. I also enjoyed that they had a television set there(was an older style tv) but it was still nice to have since I was there when the world series game 7 was on. Another great perk that this restaurant had especially since its family own and all they accept credit cards. Which to me came at a surprise. Overall the place was a great experience and would definitely go back!

If u love making ur own plate of what u like, veggies, meats and sauces, pasta noodle to ur liking and they will stir-fry it for you then u will love this place ad I do. Everyone is nice but the owner I’ve seen be littles her staff in public she’s done this 2 timed out of the millions of time I’ve been here, besides that its still an awesome place to eat mongolian food unless ur in San Diego then the best place is called«Stir Fresh I think its in San Marcos before Oceanside».

I’m sorry to give a low rating for any restaurant, but this place really isn’t that great. The price is great and affordable(as of today, this restaurant is charging $ 5.95 for lunch and $ 7.75 for dinner, which we went to tonight), but if the food isn’t that great, what’s the point? Here are a few pros: I don’t think I’ve ever seen an all you can eat Mongolian BBQ place, Meat is kept nicely cold in a small freezer, seemed to be ample amounts of meat(from chicken, lamb, beef & pork), many different sauces and oils for you to choose from to make your own flavorings, during dinner there is free Chinese flat bread given to all guests(which actually taste good). Here’s a few cons: this place is not authentic and the food that they have that is considered«Chinese» is Americanized(well it is in Duarte… and the majority of people living in Duarte are Hispanic… and well you gotta cater to your cliental I guess…) and this«Chinese» food looks like it’s been sitting out because everyone is here for the main attraction(Mongolian BBQ), the noodles are thick and chewy(although I like this type of noodles, the people in my party did not like it and did not feel it was suitable for Mongolian BBQ), although the food was semi– flavorful, it could have been better(to be honest, we all felt that The Great Khan fast food chain tasted better… fresher and has a more consistent flavorful taste), limited choices and presentation of food did not appear to be appetizing(let’s be honest, we all eat with our eyes first) and we had slow service(and it wasn’t even crowded… maybe about 1⁄3 of the place was full). Honestly, I don’t know if I would want to dine here again… This is my 2nd time dining here and the food did not change(first time was at least 15+ years ago). Unless I was really broke, really hungry and do not want to wait in line for food, I guess I would consider this place…(and we will just leave it at that)

Yes«Elite», let’s ruin an AWESOME restaurant’s stats because you’re «not a Mongolian BBQ person.» No complaints yet you give THREE stars? Shame on you! That’s like a vegetarian(like I used to be) giving a steakhouse three stars because I don’t eat steak. FOOL! So, no longer vegetarian, about 20 of us swarmed this place after the last day of Ren Faire. We scouts arrived(two of us!) 10 minutes before closing time, and they agreed to stay open just for us weirdos! She brought fresh bread, was attentive, all the food(even the veggies!) was fresh, despite near-closing time conditions(this was so, even before we arrived). The meats are all frozen, I had chicken and(lots of) beef and it was quality stuff with hardly any fat. They made fresh tempura for us, kept the disgruntled BBQ chef on duty(he cheered up after realizing what good tippers we were!), and I can’t recall a more personalized(and delicious!) dining experience in the past few years. ALLOFTHISFOREIGHTBUCKS. Cmon people! Get in here! They had rice, egg rolls, onion rings, little fried chicken thingies(yum!), much more. The only thing I didn’t like was the hot and sour soup(too mild for my taste). But who cares? It was one out of thirty+ choices, and everything else was sampled and enjoyed. Jennifer, don’t review places you’re not«into.» This restaurant(and the owner in particular) deserve our praise. Gramercy, kind food lady! We shall return!

You get what you pay for, and for $ 5.95 for lunch($ 7.95 for dinner), it’s not too bad, but I won’t come back here again even for $ 5.95. They advertise themselves as a Mongolian BBQ Buffet and a Chinese Buffet. Their Chinese Buffet consisted of fried rice, noodles, hot and sour soup, and chicken soup, all of which was bland. Repeat. ALLBLAND. Their Mongolian BBQ was better. Everything seemed fresh. They switched their veggies out quickly. There were a bunch of people in line, though. The lady kept telling us how everybody came at once all of a sudden and then suggested we get soup first before standing in the Mongolian BBQ line. They offered lamb, pork, chicken, and beef, and had signed posted on the wall telling you how to make your meal mild, medium, or hot by adding a different number of scoops for the different sauces. In the end, though, the meat was good, the veggies were alright, but the noodles just tasted bland and soggy. I wasn’t completely satisfied or full, but I was not interested in going back for seconds either. They also had a salad bar with some jello and fruit, which I didn’t try.

If you like Great Khans you’ll love this place even more. They let you put on whatever sauce you want, I toss on everything and it came out pretty good. There’s an area for food that’s already cooked and good to go and then you can set up the noodles/meat part yourself then bring it to the chef to cook it up. It’s all you can eat and really cheap. I’ve only been here once but it’s good. My favorite part was actually the noodles with the sauce, probably the wrong thing to like… I’m probably gonna try and load up more on the meat and veggies with some noodles because I can’t just eat meat and veggies alone. If you’re out in the area or near arcadia mall just make the trip out over here instead of hitting up Great Khans. You get more for what you pay and you can customize it more yourself. Good spot to hit up if you’ve never had Mongolian BBQ, this was actually the first place I tried it at. Avoid the place if you’re looking for something moderately healthy.
