First of all, we have eaten here a few times. We are not huge pizza eaters, but the pizza and salad bar are very good and an exceptional value. For those who complain about the selections on the buffet, this isn’t CiCi’s or Gatti’s, and we really don’t need that. Those are 20 miles to the east so please go there. This post is more about the character of the owners, Mr. & Mrs. Lee. We live in Dripping Springs and our son was recently granted a wish by Make-a-Wish. There tradition is to throw an grant party. We decided to throw a pizza party this past Sunday. Make-a-Wish could have gone to the big pizza vendors I am sure, but, based on some local knowledge and reviews, decide to contact Grand Slam Pizza to supply the pizzas. They agreed at a very good discount. Our Make-a-Wish coordinators arrived at Grand Slam Pizza Sunday around 12:30PM and noticed they were closed on Sundays. Mr. & Mrs. Lee came to work and made the 12 x-large pizzas on their day off just for our sons party! I am sure they were NOT seeking publicity, but did this out of compassion and support for the community. Grand Slam Pizza has cemented themselves in our hearts and we recommend that we all support them with our business.

This place claims to be a pizza buffet but they literally only have two pizzas out at a time. If it gets at all busy then there may only be a few cold slices available. Why bother being a «buffet» if you’re not going to do it even half way decent? Plus they use Styrofoam plates and cups. They’ve been there for years! Buy some plates! You’re killing the earth!

They deliver and the pizza is actually really good! Mr. Lee is very kind. The ingredients are fresh and the price is right! I love the huge chunks of tomatoes on their combination pizza. I’m looking forward to checking out the buffett soon.

My husband and I were tired of the same pizza places around our house. We didn’t want Hill Country Pizza, Pizza Cave, Dominoes, Pizza Hut or the overly expensive Pieous. So on a whim we called Grand Slam Pizza. We have been living in the DS area for 5 years now and never tried this. I’m so upset that we never did till now. This lil gem in DS is a must try. We ordered a pepperoni and Hawaiian to go. The pepperoni was so much better than the other places out here. It was hot, crispy, well cooked. I don’t even like pepperoni pizza(this was my hubby’s pizza) and I really liked this one. I think I ate more of his than mine. The reason I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 is bc of the Hawaiian pizza. The pizza itself was good. I wasn’t a fan of the ham on it. Hawaiian pizza is my go to pizza and I order it all the time. I just didn’t like the taste of the ham. I will order from here the next time I have a pizza craving, but I will order something else and not get anything with ham on it. Besides that, the employees are really nice, the place was clean, pizza was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Anyone living in this area needs to try this place out!

Great food and great service! I enjoy their lunch buffets and my kiddos love to make root beer floats from the ice cream and soda machines.

Tasty pizza and super fresh salad bar. Great for families and large groups because of the buffet option, everyone gets what they want, when they want it and drinks and ice cream is included! The owners are awesome!

This place was awful. There were literally only two pizzas out for the lunch«buffet.» The only two options were pepperoni and cheese. If I only wanted two options, I would have gone to get frozen pizzas. The pizza was ridiculously greasy, and there was MOLDINTHEICECREAM. Oh and their A/C isn’t working, but if you get hot, there are portable house fans set up. Not worth the $ 13 I paid. Not even worth $ 3.

Needed a place for my kids where they could walk around without tripping a waiter. This was the closest place. I decided to get them the buffet and I chose the same thing just to try it. It was just okay. Nothing special when it comes to the pizza. Kids won’t mind it but parents might feel a bit cheated. CiCi’s has more options and flavors. The salad bar is pretty sad as well. Corn, cucumbers, carrots, 4 dressing(oil and vinegar in bottles on top of the sneeze guard), flavorless spiral noodles, croutons, fake bacon pieces, cheese and lettuce. The positive is that they have dark green lettuce instead of nutrition-less uceburg lettuce. Ice tea comes in a pitcher sitting to the soda fountain which has regular soda options. My kids loved the never ending ice cream cones and ice cream machine since they can reach it. I didn’t like it because of that. Haha! I think the décor needs a major upgrade. There’s carpet everywhere, old dirty baseball banners and flags on the walls, some of the tables had very old baseball cards in them that looked burnt and their plaques and thank you notes are all crooked. You can tell the owners work hard if they don’t pay any attention to it. They are a kind couple and the wife works hard. I’m not even sure if she took a breath from making pizzas. When you leave, they stop what they’re doing to thank you for coming by. Very sweet. I’ll order a pizza next time and see how great it is. To be continued…

For the past 10 years I have only gone here when I want pizza in this area because I know that this is pizza I can trust. The ingredients are always fresh and top-notch(you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out… you can clearly taste it in their food as compared to other places) and healthy(there is no excess of oil, as opposed to other places, and emphasis on the veggies!!). The food is very clean, very transparent. The owners are VERY kind and have GREAT service! The buffet is also great! Nice for a quick meal with the family. And the prices are also very reasonable and well worth every cent! There is a reason why some restaurants are able to stick around for 10+ years, so I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who in this area who hasn’t been yet and experience that for themselves!!! It’ great for families, kids, friends, sporting events, etc. Also, it’s always good to support the locals! And they now have GLUTTENFREEPIZZA!!! So make sure to check it out! It was AWESOME!

My family and I live in the area and I have to say, this is probably our favorite pizza place. I gave Pizza Cave a chance and just didn’t care for it. The dough was soggy on their margarita pizza so I decided it was time to move on. This family-owned business is nothing fancy but the owners are ALWAYS very polite and helpful anytime we pick up our carryout order. And because they already know us by name and who we are, they give us lollipops for the kiddos every time with our order. Not only is the pizza great but for a family of 4, it’s extremely cost efficient. For four medium pizzas, you’re only paying about $ 20. Even places like Domino’s and Pizza Hut in the area charge almost as much for one large pizza. If you don’t want carryout, then feel free to dine in with them because they have a nice little buffet. Not super huge but still good. Don’t miss those arcade games in the back either! This seems to be a great little spot for kid birthday parties as well :) A highly recommended place for sure!

Love this restaurant! The owner is a generous and good man. We’ve been eating at Grand Slam for many years. Try the spinach pizza and cheese sticks.

My northern boyfriend raved about this pizza. We stopped by on our way to the Guadalupe Mountains and he could not stop talking about it. I’m grateful for a place that offers pizza to his«high standards,» so thank you Grand Slam! If you’re in Dripping Springs, go here! Now. Right now.

My boyfriend and I pass this little restaurant on our way from Austin to Kerrville, and as other reviews have mentioned, it’s not gourmet pizza, but it is satisfying. They make pizzas when you order them, as well as having plenty prepared for a buffet. They have general favorites — pepperoni, sausage, some kind of deluxe(bell peppers, onions, olives), and pineapple. Today I had a slice of pepperoni, a slice of deluxe, and a salad. They have a decent salad bar with a good variety of vegetables, and a little ice cream machine(I didn’t have any). The food is good — it’s satisfying, but it isn’t the best pizza you’ll ever have. It really is on par with 3 stars. The décor is cute in it’s own way. There are pennants for every team imaginable all over the walls(I was going to deduct a star for not having any Spurs memorabilia, but then I saw it amongst the masses(jk) There is a big screen tv circa 1998. It’s literally a big, huge box, and they’re always playing Fox News. WHYYYYY? Why do I have to listen to Bill O’Reilly while I eat my pizza? But anyway, the tablecloths are all sports themed and the chairs are patio furniture. To make me sound like more of a liberal, it really bothers me that they serve everything with styrofoam cups and paper plates. It just seems so wasteful. I can’t imagine how much they go through. However, I have to give it four stars because their service is SOOO, so friendly. We stopped in once right before they closed, not realizing they closed in 15 minutes — we were going to leave, but they told us it was okay and asked us to stay. They made us a fresh deluxe pizza with plenty of vegetables and when we tried to clear our table so they could get out of their sooner, they took everything for us. The most recent time we came, Mrs. Lee was smiling the whole entire time, I don’t know how her face doesn’t hurt. Maybe it does and she smiles through it? They are really friendly people, and I really want them to do well. Overall, it’s a good place to stop.

not the best pizza in the world but the price is right. Mr. Lee and his lovely wife are über efficient and friendly. They are always very kind to my son and Mr. Lee always gives him quarters to ride the horse. Here is the best kept secret of the joint. On some weekdays for lunch Mrs. Lee makes the best Teriyaki chicken known to mankind. If you are looking for some cheap pizza buffet action go to grand slam.

First let me say, the pizza is not 5 star, but it is still good pizza. If you are looking for gourmet, don’t come here. This is a family-friendly pizza joint with all you can eat pizza buffets, fresh salad bar, and ice cream. You can order pizzas too. From the perspective of my 10 and 8 year old… this is their favorite place to eat. My husband loves it too. The main reason I gave it 5 stars is the service. The owners are some of the kindest people I have ever met that own a local restaurant. Every time any one comes in, they welcome you; and when you leave, they tell you thank you. They like to shake your hand and the kids’ hands too. I have a huge respect for these people and I don’t even know their names. I should find that out! Give it a try!

Imagine this business plan. Make some pizzas for lunch and make 10ish pies for a 3 hour buffet. Its not Gilligan’s Trattoria if that’s what your thinking. Its the second coming of Grand Slam Pizza in Dripping Springs. The current owners bought out the original guy and their formula seems to work. I gotta tell you these folks have got it down to a science. They make it chart style sections a ¼th at a time. Pies come out of the oven with pepperoni, burger, veggie, and Hawaiian in one large pizza. Amazingly, it seems to work. I don’t eat there often; but the crust tickles my fancy. A recent visit produced a thin and slightly charred triangle slices of heaven(toppings not included). The salad bar has got your basic fare. The soda machine and the daily newspapers laying about earns my praise. The staff carefully watches as the charts start to disappear as the customers pour in. I think I’m going Anna style saying I eat here but that doesn’t mean you should. I think Michael M didn’t quite grasp that they have beaten the odds for restaurant success in DS in his recent review. I gonna give them an A-OK for some nice tenure and a business plan that seems to work for us.
