This place is a local gem; a wide variety of skeins, with novel colors, all the tools needed to create with and a comfortable atmosphere to craft in! There are lessons on fiber and life and just good camaraderie when knitting and pearling together.

I stumbled on to this place and could not believe it. I have wanted to learn to knit and this shop is so darling! It is SO nice, it is fixed up very zen and relaxing. They have classes for all levels, wine by the glass and all sorts of teas and coffee if you want to just come in and knit(which is nice for beginners so if you mess up there is someone always there to help!) They sell everything you need and local hand dyed yarn that is just beautiful! I took the beginning class and they couldn’t be more patient and helpful. I highly recommend it for anyone who crochets or knits or would like to learn how. Oh and they have massages on Mondays by Rebecca who is awesome(by appointment only!). LOVE this place!!!

So happy to have a lys(local yarn shop) in the heart of Dripping Springs. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable without any condescension. Dr. Allison really sets an open and friendly tone. Not only is the place full of yarny goodness, there are drinks available along with yummy local chocolates. Coffee, tea, cold drinks(and soon wine and beer) are available making it extra nice for those of us who want a social time out but are not into bars or nightclubs(although DS has a couple great places if that is your thing). There is a yarn swap Tuesday offered. There is a computer set up for us to check our Ravelry patterns or find new ones to justify the yarn we just feel in love with. For our loved ones who get dragged along but don’t understand the appeal of fiber arts, there is a social area with a bunch of fun games so everyone can find their ‘happy place’ at the Sated Sheep.
