The service was great and friendly and the food was amazing. I had the California Grilled Chicken and my friend had the Buffalo Chicken, both were tasty and fresh. Awesome!

Homemade taste but patty was kinda salty. Free refills. Nothing special. I had a burger with avocado in it. Check it out but don’t expect too much. See for yourself.

Great food with nice service and smiling employees? Why not? A friend and I came to the adjacent Krikorian theater to watch Maleficent. We arrived a bit early and needed to grab a bite to eat, so we came in to try out the place and give them our business, as the place seemed a bit slow when we arrived. The lady working the counter was very nice and helpful in giving us recommendations for our first visit. The buffalo chicken burger I had was great. Served in a brioche bun with all the ingredients and a big slathering of buffalo and ranch sauce. Very messy, but delicious nonetheless. And if it doesn’t leave your hands greasy and messy, it probably wasn’t that great of a burger to begin with. The fries were also very delicious. If I were to have any qualms about it, it’d be that the French fries serving isn’t too much, and the price is a bit steep. It was still great though, and I definitely wanna return and try out new items.

Sometimes, a lot of hype gives you high expectations, then you’re a bit let down. I was expecting a flavor explosion, but I didn’t get what I was hoping for. The prices were reasonable for fast food burgers. The service is, as expected for a fast food place. The burgers were just ok. The bread was nice and soft, but it would’ve been better, if it was buttered and grilled. The patties were quite thin even with the double stuffed bacon cheese burger. You get more meat and flavor in a double-double. What was good, is there chicken nuggets. A Panko breaded piece of breast meat, much like chicken katsu was very tasty. Since I don’t live near SS, I don’t know if I would come back to try the mighty crunch.

A couple of weeks ago, my friend & I tried Super Stack. We went at around 12:30 p.m. There was a group of 4 finishing up when we arrived, then another group of 4 came in after us as well as a few stragglers behind them. THEGOOD(Pros): — the male cashier was nice — the bacon on my Texas BBQ burger was thick, juicy & semi-crisp & the brioche bun was good — mostly affordable, fulfilling combo meals — clean tables & plenty of(hard plastic) baby high chairs! — the fries were ok. Some were meh. — bottled condiments(ketchup!) were available at the front — outdoor seating was available — food was brought to our table with a smile — street parking & the FREE parking structure are nearby — grade A from Health Dept. THEBAD&THEUGLY(Cons): — the cashier was inaudible at times. And no, it wasn’t because of his accent… I mumble at times, but not when I’m working dang it. — Sprite was flat as hell. Watered down deluxe. Dr. Pepper never fails, but I honestly didn’t need or want the caffeine. — the lone restroom(yup, shared by both sexes I believe) was in the back past the register. Seemed awkward walking in that area since they had supplies stacked everywhere & the kitchen was nearby. No baby changing station. — smallish dining environment & a bit stuffy inside since it was in the mid-80s that day — took a bit longer than I anticipated to receive our order, but when I checked it seemed like there was only one guy in the back cooking — I wasn’t impressed with the burger patty or the lack of the BBQ flavor. *sad, sad trumpet* I’ll probably try it again someday, but will choose a different burger or chicken sandwich of some sort. Under new management(unfortunately). They now serve breakfast and teriyaki bowls??? The food seems to have taken a hit under the new management. The burgers aren’t as big as before, the service is incredibly slow, the new guy/manager at the cash register doesn’t really know the menu. The old management use to ask how I wanted my burger, medium, medium rare, well… new management doesn’t ask. It also took around 30 minutes to get my burger. The people that were eating in when I got there looked rather irritated that it was taking so long to get their food. When food finally came out, it came out within 30 seconds of each other. The 3 – 4 people who were there well before me got their food and seconds later my to go order came out(I had said for to go, but they originally made my order a dine in so I had them pack it up). So it seems like uneven ticket times on their end. So sad. It’s such a disappointment. They started from the top, now they here.

After a delicious trip at Porto’s bakery, my friends and I decided to try a local burger joint: Super Stack. It’s like the reviews say: the burgers look picturesque and fun, but the price/flavor isn’t quite so enjoyable. You pay 9 $ for a combo meal, but the burger quality is like a Carl’s Jr-ish burger. On every burger there was an element that really ruined it — My friend’s cheese ring burger didn’t need the second cheese ring. My barbecue sauce(which tasted like the stuff from grocery stores) and the Hidden Valley ranch sauce on my brother’s buffalo chicken overwhelmed and ruined our burger experience. Not a fan of it, sorry :(. Overall theme: looks can be deceiving.

Value: Not that great. I got the Texas BBQ burger and for a $ 5 burger, you expect so much more. Seemed like a Carl’s Jr. burger you can buy for about $ 3. Short and simple review: The cashier was nice, but the food took a long time to come out even though we were the only people there. The burgers were bland and bleh with the buns being not very good. The chili cheese fries were super oily and the onion rings tasted like they were store bought and microwaved.

New owner. Best friggin burger ever. Perfect. Bacon bbq burger was so good. Perfect place for before or after movies next door. I would recommend this place for everyone. If you want a better than fast food burger, this is the place. All quality.

Pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of this place. While we waited for our movie show time we decided to come here to satisfy our grumbling stomachs. By recommendation of server, I tried the Baja Heat burger, which included fried jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, chipotle mayo and avocado… yes please. Best part you can make it a beer combo which includes burger, fries and a bottled beer. I definitely recommend this burger, the flavor a were very tasty, and good size charbroiled burger. With burger joint fries that are seasoned with seasoned salt. My mom wanted chicken so she chose the Chipotle BBQ chicken burger, despite the messiness of dripping BBQ as you bit into it, she says she enjoyed it. For both our beer burger combos the total was 22.32. This place reminds me of five guys, as far as flavor and quality.

Best burgers in town. Opened to substituting a lot of the items. The cashier even let us know that she could add grilled jalepenos for free. The cheese melts perfectly onto the burger. The service is excellent. They offer a1 sauce, VALENTINA like who does that at a burger joint. Overall excellent place to eat

Most of the reviews here have established that the burgers at Super Stack are very good. But there’s one more pressing question they haven’t been answering, and it has to do with Super Stack’s strikingly similar older brother right around the corner, LA Buns. So which one wins? Though the race is close, I’d submit to you that LA Buns wins. And I’ll judge based on food and service/setting 1) Food Burgers: Both places serve a great burger, but LA Buns wins for me, mainly because the patties are more flavorful(and, if I remember correctly, bigger). I also like the balance of flavors more at LA Buns. But both restaurants serve those magical brioche buns that make their burgers a cut above the rest. Fries: LA Buns wins this one too. Super stack has those crinkly fries that, while good, are nothing special. LA Buns has great, well seasoned, and all around better fries. 2) Service and Setting This one is really, really close. Super Stack is bigger and maybe more comfortable, but the interior really isn’t great and the service is just fine. LA Buns is small and can get a little cramped, but the atmosphere is a little warmer and more friendly. All that said, Super Stack deserves 4 stars for delivering a great burger under $ 10. This place will make your average burger joint seem like it deserves 1 – 2 stars.

I can sum up my entire first visit to Super Stack in one word. INCREDIBLE! Super Stack is another in a long line of customizable burger places popping up all through Southern California. These places are literally taking the world by storm and Super Stack is no exception. Upon walking in and perusing the menu you are struck by a large variety of pre-assembled options for both burgers and chicken sandwiches and strips. Although there were several of these on the menu that immediately piqued by interest, I decided instead to go the customizable route and build my own epic burger. When building your own burger($ 3.99) you begin by selecting from several types of brioche buns(fluffy and perfect for these burgers). After the bun selection you move on to the meat where you can choose between a single or double 100% beef patty as well as chicken, buffalo crisp or even portobello mushroom varieties. The veggies are all free but the premium toppings such as avocado, bacon, onion rings & jalapeño crisps can be added for an extra $ 1 a piece. I put together my iteration of a Baja Burger with a butter brioche bun, a single beef patty, chipotle mayo, jalapeño crisp, green leaf lettuce and red onion. One bite in and I was already in burger heaven. This is no question in my top 2 burgers I have ever eaten(Slaters being the other). You can make any item a combo for an additional $ 2.50 and get fries as well as a fountain drink. The crinkle fries were light yet just crispy enough and had great flavor. The restaurant itself is clean, has plenty of seating(both inside & outside on the patio) and the service is friendly. After ordering your food will be brought out to you at your table which is always nice. The parking here is non-existent and you really must use the free parking structure next door which is plenty ample to accommodate the restaurant and movie theater next door. Although the place was not busy when we arrived, business definitely picked up as it was quite full when we were finished. The food is priced decently enough to other comparable places and is put together nicely. They definitely did not skimp on the toppings which I appreciate. My wife ordered a customizable version of the Blue Burger which is stuffed with bleu cheese inside the meat patty and she really seemed to enjoy it as well. This is really a place I enjoyed and can see myself visiting many times to come. They have an incredible selection to choose from and I definitely would like to check out the Chipotle BBQ Chicken Sandwich as well as the nuggets sometime in the near future. The place is a bit of a drive for us but is well worth the trip. Long live Super Stack!

We went there on a random Monday afternoon at 3pm. We were the only ones there, which made service really fast, but I can’t comment on how busy it gets during rush hour/peak hours. Between two of us, we ordered the Texas BBQ Burger and the SuperStack Burger to share and an order of large fries. The lady taking our order was kind enough to cut the burgers in half for us as well. Both burgers were juicy and very filling. The fries are the thick crinkle cut fries that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. One note about the buns: They aren’t traditional buns. The buns taste almost like croissants, which gives it extra flavor and probably butter. It gives the burgers a little something extra. There’s plenty of seating on the inside. The prices are about 30−40% more expensive than what you’d expect to pay at Burger King or In-n-Out, but the quality is definitely there. In terms of parking around Super Stack, the best option is street parking — 1 hr parking between 8am-6pm Mondays-Fridays. Pros: Good food Cons: Slightly pricey for fast food, limited parking

A burger is a burger. There’s a bun, some beef, maybe some cheese and some other stuff. It’s all been done before. Wrong. I didn’t know how good a burger could be until I came to Super Stack. The hubby heard of thiss place from following a foodie on You Tube. I took a look at the menu and it’s all looks really promising. We decided to split a Super Stack and a Mighty Crunch. The patty is cooked to order. The bun is a soft fluffy brioche bun. The cheese on the Mighty Crunch is grilled to a crispy thin wafer. Every single bite of both burgers is beyond fantastic! Normally I feel really uncomfortbale and full after eating burgers, but not here! Now add to that a really clean establishment, and a super friendly family-like staff and you got a five-star experience.

Wow… I walked into this hidden secretive little beezy. I totally expected a whatever burger joint because it was just next to the theater and our group was in full fledged munchies mode. The lady(also named Mary !) greeted us and showed up how the orders go. I ordered the Baja heat with a peanut butter milkshake. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG The Baja Heat burger was exactly as it looked in the picture. No false advertising here. Mary even asked how’d I like my burger cooked. There are a variety of sauces and I’ve never seen such a variety of Heinz products. The Peanut Butter Milkshake… I CAME in my mouth. I wanted to regurgitate it after I finished it so I could have it again and again. Overall. I am madly in love and my eyes are watering because I don’t live across the street.

Oh where to begin. Super Stack is truly a diamond in the rough. This little gem, in Downey of all places, is winning over burger lovers from all over. If you haven’t been, you really should. The store itself is bright and clean. The design was well thought out, with great easy to read menus full of pictures. The best part? The owners. A Mother and Daughter team who really know how to build a burger and mix up some of the best sauces around. Their spicy 1000 island is killer and their chipotle bbq will have you feening for your next fix before you walk out the door. My BF and I had a beef patty stuffed with crisp bacon and melty cheese. Yes you read that right, a delicious patty with cheese and bacon oozing out of its middle. It was then topped off with onion rings and their chipotle bbq sauce. Super Stack is like Carl’s Jr.‘s bacon western burgers younger and hotter sister. It’s superior in all ways possible. The patty has that great flat top char and all the ingredients just sing together. We also had ourselves an order of the most tender all white meat chicken nuggets. And let me tell you these were not your run of the mill frozen variety. These are hand cut, hand breaded, delicious deep fried pieces of chicken goodness. These could change your mind about nuggets for sure. We also sampled their garlic parmesan crinkle fries which were nothing short of fantastic. Super stack has a crazy good line up that could consistently hit it out of the park. You cannot go wrong here. Drive on down, grab a seat on their comfy patio, order yourself a cold beer and enjoy anything on their menu.

Really great place. I came with my bf for lunch and it wasn’t packed which was nice. The lady was super nice and even mentioned the Unilocal offer, which I knew because I’m a avid Unilocaler. She mentioned the popular burgers and I got the Cali chicken and the Texas BBQ. I upgraded to sweet potato fries. They had a lot of sauces to choose from which I liked. The food came fast and tastes really good. I like when the food looks like the picture on the menu. Overall it was a nice place, a bit pricy like 16 bucks to two meals but it’s a gourmet burger not a McChicken so I can’t complain. I would definitely go back and try other things on the menu.

This burger joint is located right next to Krikorian Movie Theater in Downtown Downey! Now I have seen this place be transformed from all sorts of types of food. But as of late it is Super Stack! As I walked in I was greeted by the friendly owner, Mary. I asked a couple questions as I was unsure what to order as everything looked so good. She explained the different types of burgers, toppings, and buns used and I decided on the California Grilled Chicken sandwich. She even suggested I read some of the reviews on Unilocal, which made me giggle! It comes as a chicken breast on a whole wheat bun with Monterey Jack cheese, wasabi mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and avocado! The sandwich was quite messy but was pleasing to my palate. The chicken was juicy and tender and with the wasabi giving it that kick of flavor it needed. I didn’t try anything else because I knew that sandwich would be filling, which it was! But I can’t wait to try some of the other things on the menu. There is plenty of parking in the structure attached to the theater as well as street parking. So coming to grab a quick bite before or after a movie will be my plan in the future.
