Great spot to have a burger and a beer… Really tasty food… service is good too. I recommend coming and checking them out…

Pre movie food! We were in a rush to grab a bite because our movie was going to start in less than one hour. Upon entering we had the sweetest cashier, an Asian girl with a hat and braids. She was very accommodating to all of our requests. The food came out pretty quickly within like 7 minutes and I haven’t been here for years but they did change their fries from my last review! They were fresh potatoes, piping hot and perfectly cooked! Their chocolate shake tastes like Fudgesicles! It was so good! I had a Blue Moon & we all had the Cali Burger, I chose pepper jack cheese to add on and the staff was polite and even offered ranch, chilies and other things if we needed. They tended to all of our needs today. The burger itself had nicely cooked bacon, my Patty was cooked about medium and it was delicious! The flavors balanced perfectly on my taste buds. I’m definitely returning next time! So much great improvement from when they first opened!

Who doesn’t love a good burger!!! BCG has 7 tasty burgers to satisfy any pallet. The Cali is my go to pick here and The Shroomer is my second pick. They also have those big soda dispensers that can make pretty much any flavor you want and they carry a nice beer selection as well. Service is good and fast here. The parking lot is a bit narrow but unless you’re rolling in one of those old school hummers, you’re good.

Great Service is NOT Dead! The fries and burger I ordered were very tasty. They were old-ashioned diner-style. The fries were crispy and flavorful. They have one of those thousand and one flavor drink dispensers which is cool. They were almost a little too perfect with hefty flavorful burgers, and had great service so I had to give them 5 ‘s. The service was really nice and it was very clean and fairly quick. If I could say anything it would be to turn the music down a little bit cuz I couldn’t really hear the person who was taking my order but that was just a minor thing. I was trying to find something that was wrong and I really couldn’t. Price wise they were very reasonable; I had a burger, fries and a drink for under 10 dollars… out the door. Service was very friendly, the cashier even hung out with me when my burger took a little longer than expected. She came over and sat down, and you know, just made small talk until my order came. Not necessary, but it made me feel that they saw me as a person, not just a walking ATM. I have been back since and they have beer and TV’s. It’s a loud, casual atmosphere, so leave grandma at home, unless Nana likes to throw ‘em back while buzzed on Fat Tire ale and sucking down salty fries, slippery with ketchup, and watching the Kings make Shark fin soup in overtime(eventually, of course, the Kings got crowned and ended up in the hot water instead). Burgers are good-sized, great-quality meat with brioche buns, made to order.(rare, well, medium-rare, etc). Parking is free, but tight as this is part of a busy food-court. It’s nice that is while you munch on a burger, your date can have fish, pizza, noodles, Cajun or whatever else she wants and you can share and stare and make goo-goo eyes while eating al fresco(how romantic). It’s fun, family, boys/girls night, stag night or date night friendly, right here in beautiful downtown Downey. Across from Porto’s Cuban bakery, the area is walk-friendly, just a few blocks from the police station and I never felt safer(I grew up in LA, so that last part is pretty easy to accomplish).

I cant wait to try my burger!!. I had never been here before but i couldn’t wait to give my review for customer service(since i usually forget after falling into a food coma) anywho, the cashier was super friendly she took my order even though it is 9:57 pm and they close at 10!!! I mean who does that! The other restaurants in the same plaza were either closed or wouldn’t take my order. Which of course i understand. But after a 13 hr shift all i wanted was to be fed :(. The cook acknowledged my request and smiled said of course we will make your burger. Their names were Cleo(cashier) and Albert(cook). So if anyone one from management is reading this please acknowledge them for their hard work and dedication. A raise would be nice too ;)! And i don’t know them personally! Just sayin.

The food here is really good. My beer was good but my friend said his was not. Not so sure about the whole fast casual burger and beer joint though. I almost feel like it would be better to just go traditional with wait staff or go fully fast food in-n-out style. The fast casual model is such a tiny bit of space in-between that I’m not sure it is a viable strategy.

Service: Great customer service! My first time here and the cashier was very patient and gave me a few suggestions. Burger was made in a timely fashion and to perfection. Food: I had the Cali Burger, seems to be the most popular. Burger was delicious… bun was not over done and the meat was cooked to perfection. I also had the regular fries which were very tasty. They are hand cut although a little greasy, I put a napkin on them and they were great! Location: Parking is a little tight, but manageable. Overall: I’d come back fora quick bite, it’s nothing fancy but it will satisfy your cravings.

This place is one of my favorite burger joints. My boyfriend and I ate here last night after sadly realizing that Bastards bar and LA Burgers(both across the street) had absolutely no vegetarian options. I had the shroomer burger with a veggie patty and a chocolate shake, he had an aloha burger and adult root beer, and we shared fries. Everything was delicious! Also, the customer service was great. We sat outside and the server brought our drinks and food out to us, and turned on the heat lamps. It was perfect. We left very full and very buzzed.

One of the best burgers places I know. The place is always so clean and every time Ive gone it’s not really packed. The service is really good and the whole environment is welcoming. The burgers are so flavorful and juicy. They have a veggie burger which my bf loves! That’s saying a lot with his pickiness haha. We’ll keep coming back

The 2016 Unilocal500, Review #002: First off I have to say that this place is clean, that goes a long way with me. 2nd: Professional on the phone and at the counter. 3rd: Waiting on «to go food» took only minutes. 4th: I ordered the turkey burger, even though I knew this burger was going to be a preformed PUCK. My mistake was thinking it would be edible. I like a turkey burger to be like a burger… if you do too, then please try the offering at Dave and Buster’s, Ruby Tuesday’s, BJ’s Alehouse or even a double turkey at Fatburger. As for me… I have pneumonia, yet I made it out to get dinner(meds say take with food) only to be disappointed… so now the overly salty puck mess sits on a plate getting cold and I am shivering with fever chills. Now I am not sure what I can eat so that I can take meds. Perhaps this establishment will do the area a favor and stop carrying the salt puck all together.

Don’t overthink it. It’s not in-n-out or five guys which are both good but different. It’s a burger joint that has a good burger and GREAT customer service. I had the sloppy fries that weren’t bad. I would say average. The burger was good. What else do you want? Good food at a decent price and quick, friendly customer service. I wouldn’t drive by an In-n-out or five guys to go there but if your in the area and want a burger I’d definitely recommend it.

Chill spot with really good burgers! I had the Cali burger that had avocado, applewood smoked bacon and pepper jack cheese tastes so good and definitely more than worth the small price($ 6.75) My husband and I also shared the BCG fries which were regular fries topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, onion and thousand island also very good! I would definitely be eating here again soon!

This place isn’t horrible, but I’d like to set the record straight for anyone coming here on the notion that it is comparable to In n Out. It is NOT comparable to In n Out. The burger patties are good & cooked well, but they are very thin. I ordered my BCG burger lettuce wrapped & realized what makes the burgers look large is the bun, not the actual size of the meat. You’ll get a bigger burger at In n Out. My verdict: meh. I saw reviews saying the BCG fries were comparable to In n Out animal style fries, again, not true. The fries come with your choice of cheese(we chose American), BCG sauce, onions(we ordered without) and bacon. The fries are not fresh like In n Outs fries, and are thicker. The BCG is nothing like In n Outs secret sauce, is tastes like a smokey chipotle ranch versus more of a thousand island flavor that I am accustomed to. The bacon is real bacon, and is good, but had a lot of fatty pieces. My verdict: don’t like it. The sloppy fries that were well raved about were sub-par to say the least, and if you’re looking for true chili cheese fries I recommend The Hat, Tams burgers in paramount, or Jim’s burgers in Pico Rivera. Those are true, flavorful, chili cheese fries. The chili here tastes canned and like something that could be whipped up in a high school cafeteria. My verdict: my high school days are well over, steer clear. If you’re going to order fries here, I’d suggest plain, save yourself an extra $ 3. The chocolate milkshake was good, nothing spectacular, just a standard chocolate shake, not at all comparable to In n Outs fresh made ice cream shakes. For $ 33 for 2 burgers, 2 fries, a shake, and a regular drink, I expected way more, and will not be returning. My overall verdict: let’s go to In n Out! Who’s driving?

one word… MILKSHAKE! I met a friend for lunch here. I have been to their location in Lomita on several occasions but didn’t realize the connection until I walked in. The place was very clean and the entire crew here is very friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. I ordered the Cali Burger(a bacon-cheese-avocado burger), fries and a chocolate milkshake. These guys make one of the best milkshakes ever. Please, PLEASE plan on getting a shake if you come here. You won’t be sorry… unless you are lactose intolerant. The juicy burger was superb with each ingredient tasting radiant and fresh. The bun holds up very well as you eat your way through this exquisite burger. The hand cut fries were very good too — large and not greasy. The worker who brought our food to the table asked if she could bring us anything and listed off a few possible items we might want, one of which was ranch. I told her that some ranch would be great for the fries and she happily and quickly brought me a small container. My friend, meanwhile, introduced me to pouring some pepper into your ketchup container to spice things up for dipping your fries — does anyone else do this? I hadn’t seen this done before and really liked it. Delicious burgers and orgasmic milkshakes — this place is a real winner.

The family and I first tried Burger City Grill at the Downey Gateway in Downey on 2÷21÷15. It was a Saturday, but it wasn’t crowded at all at around 1 p.m. when we went. Parking is in the lot around back. If you have a non-compact car, you might get frustrated finding a decent spot. The employees were all super nice. The girl at the register recommended the Cali burger($ 6.50) which I ended up ordering. I asked her about the Teriyaki burger or whatever it’s called there, and she swayed me away from it for some reason… I added cheddar cheese for an extra $.50. The burger itself was juicy and cooked to order. All the veggies were fresh. It wasn’t my ultimate favorite burger of all time, but it was satisfying. Fries were $ 2.50. They aren’t my favorite — they’re the thicker cut fries. Some were limp, some crispy. Our 1-year-old had fun trying to pick through our basket and find the ones she really liked then dousing them with ketchup. The hubby ate all of his City Slicker burger so I suppose it was good. I’m sad he didn’t even allow me a chance to take a bite… He felt the same way about the fries, but they are totally edible — just not our personal favs. The kid and I shared a strawberry shake($ 4). It was alright. A fresh, cold glass of Angry Orchard was $ 5. Not many other choices available, but still… Clean place. Good music in the background. Highchairs were available and clean. I’d go here again especially since I can add a few nice fresh slices of avocado unlike another famous SoCal burger joint… If you need a quick pick up lunch, text your order to 562−475−4117. Says so on the receipt. Review #341 Unilocal challenge 201522⁄100

THEFRIEZARESOBOMB. THEYARESOCRISPYANDFRESH!!! I COMEHEREJUSTFORTHEFRIES. So good!!! Today, I ordered the fries and bcg burger with bacon. Bomb. The only complaint I can say is that the add ons are expensive. $ 1.50 for onions??? $ 1.00 for cheese??? Isn’t a burger supposed to come with that stuff???
