This place is great! My co-workers and I discovered this place a couple months ago when we were looking for some phở close to Downey. We loved everything. The soup has amazing flavor, and the workers are efficient and courteous. Definitely a must try you won’t be disappointed!

Worst customer service ever. I phoned an order in and it was repeated to me correctly. Drove to pick up the order and was told the order was not in the system and perhaps I called the wrong location. I showed them the number I called and it was correct. I was then told the person I placed the order with clocked out and went home. So that was the explanation. In apology I was offered a discount which turned out to be a whopping .88 cents. When I got home I discovered they gave me the wrong damn order. #nevernoodleworld

Customer service here is horrible. I get it it’s the weekend and you’re working you probably hate your life for various reason but don’t take it out on the customers and ruin the image the company has tried so hard to build. Employees should not be ignoring customers trying to pick up their food, they should not be staring at customers walking in while they’re sitting at a table on break, and they should not be rushing customers to order.

I placed an order to go. Omg. Serious nightmare. My fiancée and I are sick and his Mom asked if she could pick something up for us. We placed an order on the phone and after she picked it up & delivered it, we realized it was the wrong order. I was very specific with Andrea & my order was confirmed. When my mother in law went back, they gave her a hard time & created more confusion. 26 bucks for a small bowl of phở & a small udon + a headache. Never. Again.

I got the beef noodle which was number 10 on the menu. The noodles tasted great and the soup was spicy but in a good way. It has mushrooms and bean spouts which I liked a lot. They have boba here too.

I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen. The flavor was good but the meat was tough and chewy. My boyfriend ordered the pad se ew. It was very bland. The seaweed salad was ok. It was kind of disappointing because I was craving noodles and this was the only place close to us.

Being from Downey, I remember having to drive to Cerritos, Monterey Park, or Little Tokyo for the nearest ramen. It was a hassle to crave ramen if you lived in Downey. Then Noodle World Jr took residence and solved all the ramen cravings in Downey and surrounding cities. The ramen is all I’ll ever get here. Why get Thai food when we have authentic Thai restaurants in this city? Why get phở when there’s a couple of phở places in the area? Why get the rice dishes when we have Panda Express? No but really, we have a few Chinese eateries in Downey. The only thing missing in Downey is ramen so even though it’s named Noodle World Jr it should actually be named Ramen World.

This place is too yummy! If you’re in the mood for ramen, phở, or an awesome seaweed salad this it the place to go. My boyfriend and I are big phở fans and decided to try this place out. I got a bowl of thai veggie ramen and he ordered the rare steak phở. Both were delicious and the broth my ramen came in was great! I also ordered a seaweed salad on the side. It was super fresh and had a light but tasty dressing on it. You’re given a number and the workers bring out your food, but after that it’s pretty much self-serve, which is totally fine because this place can get pretty busy. Overall I’ll definitely be back to satisfy my noodle craving soon!

Walked in to try this place reluctantly. I asked for their common/popular plates. He said«combo #1& #11», so we tried both. They serve the broth 100° past boiling point and I think it’s to finish the under cooked noodle. After ten minutes of sitting and trying to get some feeling back in my scolded tongue, I can finally sip the broth on #11… To my dismay it’s beyond salty and only has a handful of shrimp. We walked out without finishing our meal and don’t think we’ll be coming back… The #1 was just bland.

One Word: PAD-THAI-GHETTI! Based on the name alone, I know better than to walk into Noodle World, Jr. expecting legit authentic dishes, so hell… since I can get Pad Thai just about anywhere these days, I decided to go with the PadThaiGhetti. Let me tell you — this dish is everything! I get my pad thai cravings fulfilled, but the spaghetti lends itself to a more satisfying toothsome bite compared to the soft gummy noodles you get in traditional pad thai. If you’ve been to Spoon House in Gardena, then the concept of spaghetti noodles shouldn’t be too much of a shocker. I’m not a big fan of bean sprouts, so I always omit it from my order. It seems they give you a little more pasta when doing so(or at least I like to think they do). I also always request hella peanuts & lime whenever I eat pad thai, so I do the same with this dish. An order of PadThaiGhetti yields about 2 meals for me, but if you have a bigger appetite — get the Chicken Satay to go with it! Honestly, Noodle World, Jr. was the first Noodle World(anything) I’ve tried and I’m a fan and Im happy I tried the PadThaiGhetti from the jump. I find myself craving it and will find an excuse to find errands or reasons to make it out to Downey just so I can get the dish! I hope they keep PadThaiGhetti on their permanent menu! (24÷100; 2016)

Chicken wonton ramen soup was so good I recommend it. Garlic noodles are good to. These two are a must try. Came here with my family to have dinner, not to crowded great places to sit. They even have an out door sitting area. My kids loved the wonton soup.

I was disappointed by the Pad Thai. It really lacked flavor. The veggie egg rolls were him and oily. The smoothie was as expected, nothing special.

Came here with my gf looking for a new place to eat. Ordered the number 9 spicy beef soup and it is sooo good. Not overpowering but just enough to feel the kick. My gf ordered the 11 shrimp. It’s a bit on the sour side. She didn’t love it but didn’t hate it. I’ll be back for another round to try more food. Oh and they’re not shy about serving you a big portion of food. Make sure to visit the area by the fountain drinks. They have jalapeños and this chili in oil that adds so much flavor.

Before going home with a car full of Portos, I needed to make sure I got something else in my stomach FAST! If not, I would’ve ate 1 dozen cheese rolls before I’d hit«The 5.» We looked around and saw Noodle World Jr. Luckily, my picky little monsters,…er, I mean kids… love noodles! We browsed the menu and each picked our dish. They have different items from Japan, China, Thailand, and Vietnam. No Philippines. F#@%ers! I kid, I kid. Anyway, because I like variety when I go to new restaurants, I tried to get something different than everyone else. We had fried tofu, BBQ Wonton Noodles, Beef Phở, and Tonkotsu Ramen. All were 3 stars. Not horrible, but hey, I know what I’m getting when I come to a place that sells 4 different kinds of cuisines. This is the part where I would say at least 1 dish stands out. Well, here it is… the Portos’ Cheese Rolls in the car! Yeah!!!

I really liked it here a lot. Definatelly coming back. The bowls they give you are plastic so when you ask for a box to go, all they do is hand you the top and bam! You’re bowl was a toperwear, which I thought was pretty cool. The number 10 was great, spicy with a lime kick. Clean restrooms, good parking(located in the back) and very spacious

Seriously, get it together Noodle World Jr. I think it is called that because of the kid-sized portion I just received of phở. I was so excited to open my take-out bag of soup, but ended up being sorely disappointed. I’ve been here 4 times now because I always try to support Downey businesses since I am a native, but this was the last straw for me here. If I spend $ 8 on a bowl of soup, I expect to at least feel full instead of raiding my fridge 20 minutes later.

I stumbled across this place while waiting for my doctor’s appointment. I needed something fast and cheap, but delicious. Noodle World was the answer to my problem. I was craving noodle soup and they had exactly that plus other varieties of noodle dishes. They have Thai, Japanese, and Chinese noodle dishes which is great because sometimes you just want a little bit of everything. I tried their popular spicy shrimp Tom Yum ramen soup and I was pleasantly surprised! It was very tasty and filling. It definitely hit the spot. I wish this place was open late because I’d be here almost every night to satisfy my noodle soup cravings. This place gets two very enthusiastic thumbs up from me!

I came during prime-time lunch rush hour and the service was excellent. It took us 10 minutes to order + sit + receive our food. Perfect place for lunch! Like others have mentioned, the portion sizes are large! Bang for your buck — that’s what I like ! Also, $ 2.50 for a milk tea boba … have I hit boba heaven? We ordered the Thai Beef Salad, Garlic Beef, and the Chicken Tom Kah. The standout dish was by far the Chicken Tom Kah. A hot, coconutty, lemon grass broth with the tantalizing punch of spice. Seriously addictive!

This place has great food! I’ve ate here a couple times before The only reason I gave it 3 stars is cause each time I go there I try something new & each time they give me like 2 pieces of meat. All I’m sayin is for the prices of their food, I would really like a decent portion of meat to go along with the mass amounts of noodles /rice.

Throughout my life I’ve enjoyed eating ramen at various establishments. I’ve had salt, soy sauce, miso, spicy miso, tonkotsu, and other specialty kinds of ramen as well. I’m not sure what to call the bbq pork wonton noodle bowl at Noodle World Jr. — ramen, salt ramen, or just chinese style wonton soup? Whatever the proper name may be, the bowl of noodle soup was pretty spectacular. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised. I was on the fence regarding the rating. I was thinking 4.5, so ultimately I rounded down to 4 for other reasons. Noodle World is not aiming to be an authentic Japanese ramen shop. It’s also not western style noodles in particular either. So where does it fall? This visit has perplexed my brain. I enjoyed this place but cannot adequately decide what it is exactly! Much like many would consider Panda Express to be americanized chinese food, I view Noodle World as americanized ramen. Here’s why they don’t receive 5 stars. I hate it when restaurants skimp on your ingredients. The picture display shows 4 nice pieces of pork in the bbq pork wonton noodle bowl. What I received was the rough equivalent of one piece, chopped up into many little pieces and scattered throughout the soup. What am I, blind? It’s basically an insult to short your customers like that. I told the lady that took my order(Andrea), she took my bowl away, and immediately brought it back with more pork.(See the before and after photos!) Good. At least they remedied the situation. The first thing I always do is smell the broth. Next, I sip the broth. This is my first and most critical component in determining the quality of ramen. The broth was above subtle yet below salty — the perfect balance! I’m not sure exactly what the broth base was, but I’m guessing it’s salt based. The broth was at the perfect, hot temperature, yet not too hot to drink. It had a nice depth of flavor and proper amount of oil. There were 4 wontons inside the bowl; they were good and flavorful. The veggies inside were ok. I think it was chinese spinach or baby bok choy. The noodles were cooked longer than I’d want. They were okay as well. The ingredients combined nicely to become greater than the individual parts. You order at the counter, and there is a large menu board high up. There’s also paper menus to look at. After ordering they give you a tall number display to put on your table. The food came out pretty quickly. I didn’t time it, but it felt like only 6 or 7 minutes. Fried tofu with sweet sauce: This dish was spectacular. The tofu bites were perfect in size, shape, texture, and flavor. There were about 13 – 15 pieces. The accompanying sweet sauce tasted like a tangy version of a light teriyaki sauce. It was so good! Noodle World Jr. is located in the Downey Gateway, across the street from Porto’s(yum!). Starfish Sushi and The Hummus Factory are in the same plaza. See my reviews on those if you are interested. I believe someone looking for a Panda Express style Asian soup experience could enjoy this place. I also believe a ramen enthusiast could find something enjoyable on this menu. I am pretty interested by the impression that Noodle World has given me. I need to come back to explore different bowls and form a better overall impression of what exactly my view is on this joint! As it stands it’s 4 stars, but could easily jump to 5 if the next visit goes well(and they don’t skimp on the meat again!).
