Hey my mom is usually right but she outdid herself this time. She bought a gas range and refrigerator here a few months ago. So when my fridge went out I shopped for a new one. Checked out Sears, Kmart, best Buy etc. She told me to give them a try and they blew me away. I saved 175.00 from a comparable unit at Sears. Delivery was only 20 $ and they delivered on SUNDAY! I loved that and the fact they were on time. Jeff the salesman could not have been nicer! So now I tell everyone GIVEGRANTS A SHOT you’ll be amazed.

Our dishwasher decided to die right before Christmas. My husband and I were going to wait a few weeks to buy a new one since the holidays were fast approaching, and according to my husband, we had 3 perfectly good dish washers in the house already! A few days later, we got an email blast from a local radio station for Grants Appliances and it had a KitchenAid dishwasher on sale for about ½ what we were seeing in the ads on Sunday mornings. Needless to say, we went and bought a new dishwasher 2 days before Christmas, and it was installed a few days later! Everyone involved was great, but I wish we didn’t pay for it to get installed! The«professional» installers put it in crooked, which we didn’t notice until after they left. My husband then re-installed it. I should have called them to let them know, but I never did. I am now in the process of buying a new stove, and will head over to Grants. I’m a firm believer in supporting local businesses, and won’t go to a big box store.

I think Grants is great! We got a great deal, were upsold on a package when we were just planning to buy a Washer Dryer. Sam was very nice, not pushy at all, and was very flexible to help us get a great deal. AND we got $ 500 rebate(over 2 years) in Groceries! Super deal, cheap delivery, nice products. We got all our appliances(washer dryer, SSteel fridge, microwave, range) for around $ 3000 bucks! That’s hard to beat! (And we know, we shopped at Lowe’s, Home Depot, Fry’s, all before we bought). And then, went to celebrate at Cheeseburger in Paradise! Revision: Yes we got a good deal — but the company that gave us the $ 500 off groceries and rebate on gas — WENTBANKRUPT. So they’re not around anymore, and of course Grant’s can do anything about it. **I actually intended to review the OTHER Grants in Downers Grove, on Butterfield, in the Bed Bath & Beyond parking lot.

I think Nancy Regan put it best when she said. .. «Just Say No!» In true Grant’s fashion there are no prices on anything in the store. Everything is «packaged» together so the more you buy the better deal you’ll get(in theory). Negotiating your«package» is like negotiating the price of a car — time consuming. Plan to bring a book, or whatever else will keep you busy while the sales person goes back-and-forth to talk with their manager. If you do decide to buy from Grant’s comparison shop first. It helps with the negotiation process. We had some problems with the install as the delivery guys wouldn’t hook up the water line to the fridge for«liability reasons.» There was one additional problem with the install, but it’s been so long I can’t recall what it was. As I said at the beginning of the review, «just say no» to shopping at Grant’s Appliances.

We ended up here one blustery afternoon when our dryer decided to go on the fritz. I had made the decision to come to this place as opposed to another appliance store from a co-workers recommendation. I am glad I took her advice. The interior of the store leans more toward warehouse that showroom. Not that I really cared about that, I just wanted a relatively cheap dryer. The saleswoman(I think her name was Maureen) who helped us was friendly and knowledgeable. And the best part, she did not try to tell us to buy the most expensive model of dryer(the super high speed one that also has a sanitation mode on it) but showed us exactly what we were looking for. No pressure whatsoever. We ended up purchasing the a Whirlpool dryer, which my husband said was electric for about $ 425(I didn’t give a shit what it was as long as it dried my laundry). So we set a delivery date, and walked out happy. But, the day before the delivery was scheduled, the hubby was cleaning behind the old dryer, and lo and behold, it was a gas dryer! So he immediately gets on the phone with Grant’s and tells them the situation.(While I was laughing at him behind his back.) Absolutely no problem in switching the dryers(except the gas dryer was $ 40 more). The new dryer was hooked up and the old one was hauled away(they will haul away old appliances for $ 10 cash to the drive.) Fast forward four weeks later. The washing machine decides to take a shit. Guess where we ended back up? Now we have a matching pair, and didn’t break the bank. I was really pleased with everything, from no-hassle customer service, to the carrying away of the old appliances. If I ever need any other appliance(hopefully everything else will hold up a bit longer) this is my one stop shop!
