Vincenzo’s Pizzeria & Gelato

First time being here, the atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful. A variety of meal choices on the menu. Very clean, our waitress was very tentative and informative. I ordered the Gabriele Special which was chicken, crabmeat, shrimp and cheese w/​penne pasta in a cream sauce. Delicious! My boyfriend had the Stromboli and he said it was good. We will definitely be back here to eat.

Coming from Italy, this place is nothing close to the real thing. The bread was good.

My favorite Italian place in Dover. Everything is delicious and service is fantastic.

Delicious pizza, and generous portions! Two slices were more than enough for lunch today. Staff is very pleasant and there wasn’t a crazy wait, despite there being many people there for lunch. The only thing holding me back from making this a ⁵⁄₅ are the prices — I’ve seen better — but everything else was great! All of my colleagues seemed to enjoy their food as well (grilled chicken caesar salad, cheesesteak, and a sub). :)

Despite being in a strip mall, this is a nice place with very good food. Wife had the lobster ravioli and raved about it. I asked about gluten-​free pizza and was told they didn’t have any. The waitress offered up their gluten free pasata instead. Cool! Except, when it arrived it wasn’t gluten free. Oh, they ran out and substituted regular pasta. What?
Ok, I’ll have the salad instead.
Manager then came out to apologize and he offered the gluten free pizza instead.
Double what?
Apparently, waitress was new and didn’t ask/​know the menu.
Pizza was ok, for gluten free. Nothing special.

This is a great place for a nice Italian meal. The Sicilian pizza was to die for but the dinner dishes… wow! Expect HUGH servings of deliciousness. The staff is very friendly and really seem to be proud the work there. While it’s located in a strip mall, don’t be fooled. It’s worth the stop.

Absolutely love this place for authentic Italian food. Skip the Olive Garden in town and come here! The chicken fettuccine alfredo is to die for and the portion size is HUGE! Would definitely recommend this place!

Very lovely family atmosphere.
I was here a few months ago with a party of about 25 people in their private room. Vinnie took care of everything and was very accommodating to our needs and budget. The servers are very professional and friendly. They make you feel very welcomed.
I will always stop in for a bite when I’m down this way.

Have lived in Dover off and on for 40 years and have never even noticed this gem tucked in the corner of a strip mall so very happy someone posted about it on Facebook. We invited friends from New Castle County and they were concerned they were meeting us in a strip mall, but after dinner it seems we will all be back. The service and food were amazing. From the apps to the entrees I would not change one thing. I had the Vincenzo’s Special Pescatore and my husband had the Gnocchi Carbonara which were both amazing. Our friends had the Salmon special and the Gnocchi with Vodka Sauce. We all shared and now know we want to try more upon our next trip to Dover (We live in PA but have a home in Dover). I highly recommend this place and judging from the crowd tonight, many more would as well. This place is a Hidden Gem!!!

Best food I have had in Dover. I had the gnocchi carbonara. It was the a huge portion and the flavor was better than I have had in Philadelphia or New York City.
The restaurant is very clean. Service was top notch. This is a true hidden gem in Dover. Does not look like much from the outside. Don’t let that fool you. Will be back many times and highly recommend.

Solid choice in the Dover area. Great food and friendly service. Wide variety of food to choose from and reasonable prices. We never leave hungry.

Well kept secret in Dover! Food is better than Franco‘s. My wife and I eat here at least once a week. Try the Sicilian pizza with a delicious bomba for dessert!

Had a pizza blanco with mushrooms for lunch and it was ok. I liked the cheese mix but lacked Alfredo sauce and was a little dry. I was put off by the rubbery canned mushrooms. The staff were very nice and hopefully other entrees are better. Will try again.

Went to visit family in Dover and they introduced us to a real hidden jewel — «Vinnie’s» as they call it. Don’t be put off by the name (Pizza and Gelato) or the location (in the corner of a strip mall) the food here is far from your standard pizzeria selection. Everything was simply terrific!!! The homemade bread to dip in the olive oil is crusty outside and light and yeasty inside — a great start to the meal. The portions are large and our group of six wound up ordering 5 entrees’s and had leftovers to take home! The seafood in the pasta dishes was large (4 bites from one scallop!), plentiful and perfectly cooked. We ordered the Gianna (the pink vodka sauce is to die for — unbelievably rich, smooth and flavorful), the Marissa (a very nice white wine sauce with plenty of garlic — the «healthy» choice since it has spinach), Fettuccine Alfredo w/​shrimp and crab (a very good alfredo sauce that shows the quality ingredients the owner uses — the butter, heavy cream and quality parmesan are very evident in the flavor), the Steak and Onion Stromboli (the thing is HUGE and the very nice chewy/​crispy dough is filled with delicious, well seasoned lean steak and perfectly fried onions) and finally the Tortellini Bolognese (simple, meaty, smooth sauce with a well balanced flavor over Tri-​color cheese tortellini). Every dish was a winner!
The staff was friendly and efficient and seemed to genuinely care about making sure that each table was taken care of properly — even while dealing with a party of 30+ people in the back room on a busy Friday night.
I can’t say enough about how great it was to find not just good Italian food, but excellent food and great service. I can’t wait to come back again and try some of the other great sounding offerings on the menu
I guess my family will just have to get used to seeing a lot more of me…

Eat here and do take out regularly. Great calamari in linguine. They will spice it to taste. Friendly staff. Check out house specials.

It was a mistake going here. Probably the worst italian I’ve had. My husband and I both got pasta dishes which were very bland and just didn’t taste how they were supposed to. The place was empty and the service was subpar.
