Girlfriend Hooked Me Up

Ive been struggling to find someone who can do my hair. I normally do it myself but I’ve injured my arms & cant’t. After I another salon almost snatched me bald I was nervous. I am so glad Anetta was able to get me in for an appointment. I walked in & I could tell she has experience & is down to earth. Exactly what I want in a stylist. She did a chunky braided updo that was perfect for a job fair I was going to.
I plan to get a sew in weave soon & will be seeing Anetta.

Annetta is a wonderful stylist! She was flexible about working with my schedule and was able to do my hair in the evening, the same day I had called in. She works very fast, it only took a couple hours to get collarbone length box braids. I love how they turned out! She braids just tight enough around edges — I was very happy that afterwards I wasn’t uncomfortable with my edges being too tight at all. She just celebrated the 20^th anniversary of her salon and I wish her more years of success. Highly recommended and will return in the future!

I went to the first time to do my eyelashes with annetta, OMG! I got to said that I feel so welcome .
annetta was so pleasant and explain me very well about how to take a good care of my eyelashes .
Her secretary was extremely helpful as well and very friendly. .I got it said ! Annetta ! You hook me up!

Oh, what a gem!
You know when you’re hungry, but not that hungry, so you decide to browse Unilocal to find a spot with 4 – 5 stars? Well that’s how I felt about my hair… & I found Girlfriend!
I have to say it was a very pleasant experience, & my hair was happy with Anita! (spellcheck) (and, Lord knows my bank account was happy when I got the 15% off for first time service (much needed for a grad student living on student loans)).
Anita washed & twisted my locs & she gave me my curls with pipe cleaners. You know how some people twist so tight you can feel your heart pulsating through your head?! Oh that was NOT Anita. It was tight enough to last through my workouts (I do my hair myself & let me tell you, it doesn’t survive that long), but loose enough not to feel like my edges were going to fall off under the dryer.
Why 4 not 5? Just my preference for products (e.g. shampoo & conditioner brands). BUT the oil sheens & such smell really great! I just prefer brands with less chemicals because my hair gets dry easily & my scalp is sensitive. Next time I could bring stuff I use :)
I recommend Girlfriend. Also, Anita’s been in business for 20 years & her spot in this location has been going strong for 7 years. Nothing like a Black business in a Black neighbor with GREAT service!

Hi I’ve been coming to girlfriends hooked me up when she wasI in Grove Hall now she has moved to Washington Street in Dorchester. She puts love into your hair and you walk out fabulous.

I love this salon! Down to earth, honest and friendly! Annetta did a wonderful job and is constantly making sure you are doing well during your visit!

Annetta did a great job with my crochet braids. She opened the salon on a Sunday that she wasn’t open to accommodate my schedule and even though it was my mistake in getting the wrong kind of hair for the crochet braids, Annette worked after her job was done to make sure i left the salon happy with my hair.

She does a great job with your hair and is flexible with time! Extremely helpful when helping people like me figure out what hair to buy lol!

She did an absolutely amazing job on my eyelashes. She went above and beyond to give me the lashes i wanted. They came out better than I imagined and so much better than what they were before. It’s a bit of a trek to get to her salon but it is so worth it! Found my eyelash stylist!!!

Only reason she got a 4 out of 5 is because she showed up over 20 mins late for my appointment. However she certainly made up for it. She was fast, she did two heads in 2 hours mine (crochet braids) included. I was impressed I honestly thought it would take longer but it didn’t. She did a great job and I love my hair.

Girlfriend will definitely hook you up!!! She has mad skills and will work on your schedule.
