Seriously I do not like eating at places like this, fried food always makes me feel greasy and sick to my stomach. I will say this Popeyes is different. So much so I have eaten from there twice. The food is very fresh and tasty and not as greasy as going to KFC. I love their biscuit.

I love Popeyes I come here almost every Tuesday for the daily special. You get a leg and thigh for $ 1.50 for the daily deal. The chicken is always on point with crispy skin and juicy meat. The Popeyes here is actually connected to a gas station so that’s different from other ones but the best part is that this Popeyes has a drive through for your convenience.

TUESDAYDEALS! $ 1.49 for chicken & drumstick, pretty worth! I don’t usually crave fried chicken but when I do, it’s popeyes! This location is near the gas station/right off the freeway of Currey exit. What makes this place most convenient is that there’s a drive thru! Bonus points for that. The chicken and drumstick were crispy even when we brought it back to Davis. The cajun fries were really crispy! The cajun rice portion was tiny :”(

The drive thru was fast and the service was good. The food was decent but wish it had been a little warmer/fresher.

i don’t know what’s wrong with me right now but I’m craving this so badly. Popeyes is pretty great in all seriousness, though. the wait is really long, weather eating inside or outside. usually you’d have to pull your car into the parking lot after you pay and they bring it out to you when it’s ready. also they charge you for sauces if u don’t get the chicken tenders or the big chicken boxes in general I believe. sigh. I mean everyone has some sauce or ranch at home too but free sauces in little containers why not. but it’s not free. the tables have turned. anyway their spicy chicken is so bomb also their chicken po boy is pretty great too. they have lunch box specials and they’re different like all the time, so it’s cool. I wouldn’t recommend sitting inside here and eating, the area is kinda dodgy. but anyway, I’m craving this so there you go. yum.

Avoid this place at all costs! We stood in line with one person in front of us for fifteen minutes while being assaulted by an endless barrage of flies and the staff all yelled at/to each other. No, no one was in the drive through. Seriously, there were so many flies, it was surreal. The bathroom was filthy and all surfaces were wet. We just wanted some biscuits but they were out of everything at noon on a Sunday. When it was my turn finally no one greeted me, the manager used the register in front of me for another few minutes before I just straight up walked away, still being ignored. What a waste of time. While I didn’t eat here today, I’ve had the food here and it was barely mediocre at best. Chewy dry chicken thighs, somehow, and bricklike biscuits. I was hungry and desperate, thankfully I was kept from making another mistake.

Is there a option less than one star? It took over five minutes to even order with ONE person in front of us. Then after ordering just 3 chicken tenders it took another 15 minutes. Just put 3 pieces of chicken in a bag! Horrible service, avoid it like the plague.

Been coming here every other tuesday for the 2 – 1 promo. Today I ordered all spicy and one of the employees told me that I can’t have all spicy because«they need to give it to the regulars.» What kind of asinine reason is that? I’m not a regular therefore I don’t deserve all spicy chicken? Cmon now, That’s not how you run a business. Food is good but service is trash. The people that work there look like they hate their lives. At least give me a fake smile! If you’re not a regular you don’t get all spicy.

Fried chicken. What more could you ask for. The recently remodeled the inside and it looks nice. The food is always good and hot. The employees are so so. Some have attitudes. Some act like they are dead. Anyways the food is what matters and it’s good. So you should go check it out

Be prepared to wait 10 minutes for your order. Every time. Only upside, you know it will be hot.

Came here thru the drive thru and I can barely even understand the girl that was taking our order since she was talking a million words a minute. They didn’t have the mac and cheese so I had to opt out for the fries. The chicken fingers that I ordered tasted so plain and bland that I definitely was not satisfied. The biscuit tasted dry and salty which was gross. I will not be coming back here even if it was the last place on earth.

The short: Since I-80 was a parking lot on the way to the Bay area I hopped off to find something to eat and hidden in a gas station was some great chicken and biscuits. The long: Instead of sitting in traffic for hours getting angrier and angrier on an empty stomach I made the decision to get off the highway and find something to eat and let some of the traffic thin out. I remember going to Popeyes as a kid and was happy to find something besides a hamburger joint. The parking lot was a little crazy as it shares with the connected gas station but luckily I got a spot at the door. I walked in and right to the counter and placed my order. My food was prepared and out quickly although apparently they did not hear me say I was staying to eat since they put everything in togo containers. I grabbed a seat and popped open my lunch. My chicken was super crispy and steaming hot. My only complaint was that I ordered spicy chicken and there was no spice. Everything else was great. My side dish was seasoned properly and the biscuits I’m pretty sure had crack cocaine in them because had I not had any self control I would have bought ½ a dozen for the road. It isn’t gormet but it is some tasty greasy fried chicken. What works: Yummy crispy fried chicken and some amazing biscuits. What to fix: Actually make the spicy chicken spicy.

On my way home from Sacramento, I pulled over to grab a quick bite to eat here at Popeyes. I got the shrimp po’ boy and mashed potatoes. When I ordered, I was told it was going to be a few minutes to cook the shrimp and they asked me to park in front and they would bring it out to me. The wait wasn’t bad, the po’ boy and potatoes were delicious, and it gave me just what I needed to finish the drive home!

I like Popeyes in general, and the food here is good, but I almost always have some kind of issue with my order. Either something is missing, wrong, or you have to pull over to the parking spots to wait. Kind if defeats the purpose is fast food. The food itself is good, especially the mashed potatoes. They have delicious sauces to dip chicken in but tend to be stingy with them. Be prepared to be charged for extras.

Me & wife have been stopping here to grab some dinner to go at the drive-thru on our way home from weekends spent in the Bay Area. I know, it is just fried chicken. But is’s been consistently good and the staff has always been very friendly. We usually order the 8-piece family pack(it lasts us for 2 dinners!) with cole slaw. The chicken is always crispy, hot and delicious. Cole slaw is fresh. It’s the perfect treat after a day spent outdoors having fun. PS: extra kudos tonight. When ordering, we were asked if it was OK for us to wait a couple of minutes because they were frying a fresh batch. Of course we said yes, and we parked nearby. The staff member actually stepped outside to bring our order to our car. Very kind and much appreciated!

The«restaurant» is attached to a gas station convenience store. It’s convenient for those who want to grab/get some dinner while filling up their tanks. I ordered the 3 piece tenders with a side of mac & cheese. The tenders had a good amount of meat and were crunchy, but they weren’t spicy like I asked for them to be. They have Louisiana hot sauce to remedy that. I added some of it to my mac & cheese to give it a little kick as well.

I think the only reason why I’m giving Popeyes 4 stars is because I only go here on Tuesday because of their Tuesday special which is 2 pieces of fried chicken for ~$ 1.50 which is totally worth it! The location of this Popeyes is a bit convenient too since they are connected to gas station store where you can buy other things like snacks, drinks, etc. Though I try not to eat so much junk food, I think going to Popeyes on a Tuesday is definitely worth it!

Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen is a 30 year old chain of fast food chicken joints, with a cajun flavor and heritage. This one here, is in the middle of nowhere, er, I mean Dixon, California. This is the beautiful and hustling downtown of Dixon. Dixon is a road side flock of pit stops just of the I-80 freeway on the way to/from Davis or Sacramento, about halfway between those places and Fairfield/Vacaville. Being a pit stop haven, this is where you go to do main bodily functions like eat, drink and er uh, well, you know what I mean. This Popeye’s is attached and part of the Food Mart at the Valero Gas Station, right off the freeway. If you need to do one of those other bodily functions rather than eat spicy fried chicken here, you need to go into the Food Mart part of the Gas station to do it. Popeye’s supposedly beat KFC’s original recipe in a taste test recently. When you order, you can have the chicken plain or spicy. The crust is very thick and crispy. Must be super high pressure cooked chicken. I tried the popcorn shrimp, which has a little kick to them, and also got some chicken tenders. Pretty tasty with those spices. This is store # 4610! There are 3 in Oakland, and also in Antioch, Pittsburg, Vallejo, etc. All the places you might expect to find fried chicken in the greater East Bay, But good thing this Popeye’s way out in nowhere, I mean, Dixon. Because you don’t want to eat here too often. Why, you ask? Take the nutritional info on their 3 piece Louisianna Spicy Tenders: Calories 405 Fat 17g Saturated fat 7g Trans-fat 1g Cholesterol 84mg Salt 2,160mg Too much of that and you will have all kinds of health issues before long.
