3.5 Stopped in for lunch. The sandwiches were quite tasty & a decent price. The se rice was a little slow, so I would pass if you have anywhere to be. My order was wrong, but the staff corrected(again not the quickest) and all was good. They were nice about it so no complaints besides lost time. I had the roasted red pepper sandwich with bacon. It was rich, but very very tasty! Red peppers, goat cheese, walnuts, greens, bacon on delicious whole grain bread. It was rich, enough to take half home for a bite for later. We dined with someone who was«gluten free», there were tons of options and the staff was very knowledgeable of the menu for certain allergens.

This is a nice neighborhood place where almost everyone can have a good time. It’s not a dive and not a sports bar. Want to have a meal with friends? You got it. Sit at bar with a companion or by yourself? It’s here. Almost every kind of person(I think) would not feel out of place, unless you’re hellbent on watching some football game. They have one television, but it’s relatively small and does not take away from the atmosphere. Food: I’ve only sampled the veg/pescatarian items The fries are almost always under-cooked and the potato salad is «rare» to a fault, but these are minor complaints, most of the food is very good. I wouldn’t take someone here for a «great dinner» but it’s far above typical bar fare. The lock on the men’s room is a mother. although it will likely appeal to steampunk types. Word to the wise: To lock it, you have to pull in on the door while turning the giant knob to the left. To get out, pull and turn right.

I used to love this place, and recommend it to EVERYONE. Their brunch is amazing and their bottomless mimosas are basically my favorite thing ever, but lately their service has been COMPLETELYAWFUL. I won’t detail the entire experience I had the last time I visited, but I do have to say that when you work in the service industry, you have to respect customers and shit talking them or the people they’re with is completely inappropriate. ESPECIALLY since you expect that same respect from others! Where the hell are people’s manners these days? Maybe it’s because this place is getting hip and cool and they don’t care if they get repeat business?! I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going on, but unless there are some huge changes, I am skeptical of coming back.

Last night my friend and I came here and had a male bartender and I ordered a double vodka cran, we left and came back. A new bartender helped us out… and I thought I ordered the same but when the bill came, it spoke differently. And boy oh boy the female bartender with short brown hair got an attitude soooo quick. I was charged for two grey goose in which I told her I did not order. I understand some people might ask for it and fight the bill, but I have worked numerous jobs in the service industry and thats just not me. It was a miscommunication for sure. But the way she responded was so unprofessional. She got so angry, told me thats what I asked for(it was loud),.might want to learn to read lips while you listen. She claimed she asked twice, well I didnt ask for it once and definitely not twice, so your bad. So then she proceeds to talk about it to the other bartender who had no problems getting it right the first time, I mean couldnt ya save the shit talk for later? She brought back the fixed bill… in which I tried to get a word in and was totally ignored, not once but twice. I am not sure if she had a bad day or responds that negatively to all people when they make her mad, but service industry is not the place when you’re that irritable. My friend that was with me was more appalled than me about the whole situation. I guess this is what the world is coming to. You might want to try some meditation little lady. Thanks for the Grey Goose and good reason to never come back :)

I came in around 9:15 last night(a Wednesday), during trivia. We were throwing a small bday party for a friend and we’re more than happy to be allowed to bring in a cake. Service started off strange, but I’m pretty sure that girl was new. Shortly after, waters were brought over our real server came to the table. Everything was going great. Drinks and guacamole were fantastic. She even managed to get us some pasta salad right after the kitchen closed. We were waiting for the trivia crowd to clear out so we could switch our party to a larger table as we were having others join. Our server comes to the table to explain she is leaving for the night. Being in the industry myself I ask for our tabs so that we can tip the lady for her work. This is when it gets straight twilight zone. She tells me she will just transfer our tabs to the bar, she’s leaving for her own personal reasons, and I don’t need to talk to her like that. I then try to explain again that I legitimately want to tip her and she tells me she doesn’t need my tip. It was the most bizarre and bewildering experience I’ve ever had. It left me feeling terrible because I couldn’t get across to this woman that I just wanted to tip her good service. Maybe she was just having a bad night and that’s why I’m still giving it 3 stars. I think possibly it would be wise to consider a better system, so that in the future servers can be compensated when they’re cut at night. That way, animosity isn’t aimed towards the customers who were having a great time up until that point.

Came here for brunch with some good friends. I got the eggs Benedict that came with home fries. It was pretty good although the poached egg was more well done than anything, I had no yolk oozing out like I am used to. Also, the greens they put on the Benedict were really gross, tasted kind of like dirt. Home fries were great though and the atmosphere was nice too. I’m glad there wasn’t a wait given a Sunday afternoon. Wasn’t too impressed with the food but I would come back again because the prices were very good.

I’ve been here more than a few times, and have always been happy with the food and drinks. They have a rotating menu that features locally grown produce, some of which they grow in their own garden. There are plenty of vegetarian as well as meat-eater options, and their ingredients are always a bit surprising in a great way. They have this fig and goat cheese flatbread sometimes that is AMAZING. The servers are always friendly, and it has a real neighborhood vibe. This is definitely a solid choice, and a bit off the beaten path. If you hate chains and anything chain-like, you’ll like this joint.

The lock in the men’s room is a goddamn nightmare — especially when you’re seven or eight drinks deep. So, someone ended up walking in on me as I was pooping. This was NOT a senator Craig scenario. I genuinely thought the valve was locked and popped. Not the case. And the whole scene played out like this: – except I locked eyes with an ashamed bearded fella, and not an angry tyrannosaurus rex. Bathroom follies aside, this place is one of my favorite spots. I’ve had pizzas on Sunday(I loved the reuben pizza), fish, vegetables, soups, steak sandwiches and French dips, an assortment of seafood and non-seafood based appetizers, a vast array of drinks, a subtle violation of one of my most basic functions, and it just keeps getting better. Looking forward to more summer nights at the Woodbridge Pub.

What a disappointment?! I’ve been driving past this place for about a year now and it’s always packed. Perhaps our recent experience was a fluke. My husband and I stopped in here for dinner on a Friday evening and the place was fairly quiet. It wasn’t clear who our waitress was and we had to repeatedly remind the waitstaff about our orders. Our entrees arrived before our soups and we had to ask two times for more beer. I will say that the soups were spectacular and our entrees were acceptable. The primary reason for the low rating is the fact that our charcuterie plate was beyond disappointing and contained moldy cheese.

I love WP’s Hipster burger and I was so excited to see a 1⁄3LB option on the spring menu. Unfortunately, it was the worst burger I’ve had in recent memory. Dry and flavorless, obviously one of those pre-fab burgers you buy by the dozen in a plastic sleeve. I’m perplexed that an establishment that turns out great food would weaken their menu with a subpar offering. My side of Yukon potatoes were limp and oily. I was prepared to courteously mention my disappointment to the server but she didn’t return for 30 minutes, at which point I had given up — she never asked if everything was okay.

I wasn’t expecting much when my friend recommended that we come here for dinner. First off — plenty of street parking. They don’t have their own lot. The décor is actually pretty new looking. They have wooden side booths. Their menu was actually impressive when it comes to food at a bar. The menu was also quite extensive. A lot of options from salads, soups, entrees, sides, and burgers. Something for everyone. I got the Bistro Filet with mash potatoes and creamed spinach for 16 dollars. I enjoyed it. Very satisfying. Overall, I think everyone enjoyed their food and the service is pretty good too.

this is sort of a general review. I’ve been here about 2 dozen times, at all different times of day. the food is excellent. always prepared perfectly, alteration and substitutions have never been a problem. I just have one question… WHYISEVERYBODYSCREAMING??? From the time you walk in to the time you pay and leave everyone in this place is yelling at the top of their lungs. There’s a bar that runs three quarters the length of the dinning area and the people at that bar are the loudest folks on the planet. And since they’re yelling the people at the tables are yelling. And the waitstaff yell so you can hear them and then you yell your order back at them. It’d be almost comical if it weren’t so nerve wracking. I was there for dinner once and they dimmed the light(as you do) and the yelling got LOUDER. The TVs were blaring the sports report and several debates regarding that information sprang up that were especially cacophonous(I’ve been waiting to use that word. thanks college!). There is a feeling that everyone at the bar knows each other and that they divided into pockets of discussion. That’s kind of nice but I have no idea what they could be discussing at those volumes. Possibly hearing loss, i don’t know. So anyway, they have good food, an excellent drink selection and a very nice esthetic… IFYOUCANPUTUPWITHTHENOISE. Also, the bathroom is a converted freezer with the old school latch still in place. I’ve gotten myself locked in a few times. Sort of embarrassing.

The atmosphere is «Old Detroit» just feels warm and lively. Well worth the drive from Rochester. We will return soon.

What a great find(yes-we can be a little behind the times). Stopped in early on a Saturday afternoon before dropping my wife and a friend off at the Fisher for a musical and the unbelievable happened. All three of us got food we loved and are still raving about. Walking in, the first thing you notice is the large, deep 1890’s oak bar. It’s beautiful. They have repurposed or rescued many things in this bar, which you have to appreciate. As far as the food goes… Wow. My Hipster Burger was on of few that I refused any mustard or ketchup. It’s that good all on its own. It comes with a herbed mayo which I 86’ed because I’m not a mayo fan, but others loved it. A perfectly cooked burger patty, goat cheese, a large portobello cap and a wonderful bun, with that great thin brioche crust, this burger is in my top 5. The girls both got sandwiched on amazing looking bread. The Grilled Cheese with smoked Gouda, MI Fontina and apples, is next on my list along with the Tomato Basil soup. They make it with plum tomato’s and you get that sweet tomato flavor. Plenty of Vegan and Gluten free options. I understand a full time pizza joint is planned for next door so the Sunday Pie-Sci will be an everyday thing. Located across from the Wayne State football stadium, make sure you drive in from the north or south. Coming in on the service drive(ha!) from the west is like driving through a war zone.

This is probably the most fun I’ve had at any brunch spots in a long time. It also doesn’t hurt that their food is excellent. And, bottomless mimosas always earn a brunch spot extra points. I had the salmon benedict with the home fries. That was really good. Often, the hollandaise sauce is too watery or bland. I really like the hollandaise sauce here, the consistency is just right and it’s definitely not bland. They don’t skimp on the salmon either. My favorite part though was the atmosphere of Woodbridge. In the middle of brunch, Africa’s Toto came on and everyone started singing along. Then, Sweet Caroline came on and people started singing again. It’s like a mini party and everyone is having a great time. I will gladly recommend Woodbridge Pub for anyone that wants great food and have a great time. Good job, Woodbridge Pub!

My husband and I stayed in Detroit for a weekend. One of my «to-do» experiences was bottomless mimosas. I asked around on Facebook and a few friends recommended Woodbridge Pub. We showed up around 12:30 on a Sunday and were seated immediately. A server brought us water and menus right away. We ordered our mimosas($ 11) and got them within a couple minutes. We also decided to split a breakfast to help absorb the ridiculous amount of champagne we were about to drink. A basic breakfast with two eggs, Avalon sourdough toast, bacon and sausage was $ 9. Pretty pricey for what it is… but at least it was delicious. I feel like we got more than two eggs because neither me or my husband finished our split portions. The bacon was really delicious. The sausage was a little funny, kinda pillowy instead of having a «crunchy» exterior. Everything was served hot and we both enjoyed it. All the while, servers walked around with mimosa carafes to ensure our cups were never empty. We were refilled at least five times and we were even offered refills after we cashed out. I was impressed with the service, drinks and food. They also have free WiFi. Jacob and I will be back when the mimosa bug bites again!
