really cute spot. definite must-peek. i found this trinosop when i was desperately lost in detroit michigan. i had come into town for an antique and collectible car show, and had never been to this city before in my life. i saw the sign for trinosophose in the distance and it was then that i realized i wanted an iced latte really badly. unlike some places that’ll charge ya $ 4.50 for some coffee and milk, trino’s(as the locals call it) gives you some real expresso with half n half. what luxury! i also got a bean-based dish. this was quite honestly pretty stupendous. and not too expensive neither. definitely an upgrade from the food they were serving at the hotel: P i really liked the drink! i’ll probably never come back to «the D»(another local term i learned) but if i do, trinos your #1. sidenote: the barista was really cute. great eyecandy, young blond haired slightly disheveled looking guy. hubba hubba. i think his name was lavender.

The space is cool. But the food is terrible. Not worth the price either. They’re trying to go for a hipster look, which I don’t mind, but the food sucked. Not to mention their were only a few items to pick from on the menu. If you want to eat, I would suggest you NOT go here. If you want to chill, have some coffee and get some work done, this is more of the place.

Great layout and atmosphere, my friend who is a regular showed me this place. I got a cold cherry tea and an oatmeal bar, both were very good. The staff were very friendly. I can easily see why regulars can spend their whole day there in that great open space. They also have a stage for concert!

We stumbled in after a morning spent at the market. The egg sandwich was DELICIOUS. So fresh, and a wonderful combination of flavors. The combination was not something I would have thought of myself, and I appreciate the chef’s creativity. The hand pressed coffee was also delicious. My only disappointment was the long wait for our orders and the slight lack of organization when we went to pay for our meal. All in all a wonderful experience and great place to try something new! Can’t wait to return!

Terrible food, terrible management, ugly crowd of smug hipsters. Avoid this dump like the plague.

It’s very disappointing when businesses aren’t open during their operating hours. Google/Yelp says 9 – 5 Door says Tue-Sat… Walked out of my way to visit after the Tigers opener and they were closed…

I went here for brunch with my boyfriend on a Saturday. It’s a cute café with a lot of space and tables. They regularly have art and music. They have a coffee bar as well and lots of homemade baked goods. They do have gluten free and dairy free options. I had an egg scramble with a tomato-style curry sauce over potatoes with chorizo. It was great! I’d recommend it for a lunch date!

I’ve been at Trinosophes a few times now and generally enjoy the atmosphere and space. I love that they have parking behind the building and have giant tables for people to work on. The food is decent, as is their coffee. But, they only do pour-over coffee, which is great!, but it does mean that you can’t rush in for a cup to go as quickly. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a space to get some work done.

Art/music venue/café in Detroit’s Eastern Market. Good coffee drinks and healthier, delicious fare to eat. Trino is a big space to hunker down in. Lots of creative looking folks running through here and being friendly to each other. A good spot for Avant Garde music if that’s your thing.

Love the atmosphere and layout of this place! Very bright and open with many tables(some individual, some communal). The restaurant/café is part of an art gallery, record store, and performance space. They offer coffee, tea(not the widest selection but has your basics), and health-conscious food with interesting flavor combinations. They also had one fresh juice on the menu when I went. They’re vegan-friendly and a lot of their food is gluten-free. It wasn’t labeled on the menu though, so make sure you let the server know of your preferences. I had the turmeric-ginger tea and the potato pancake & eggs, both of which were great. My friend had the barley porridge and grapefruit brulee which she enjoyed as well, but the porridge was a pretty big serving and very filling, so she was only able to finish about half. The only downside was that it took a long time for them to brew the coffee. When the waitress brought it out, I had forgotten that we had ordered it. Besides that one downside, I’d definitely come back! It’s a nice atmosphere to sit and read for a while as well.

Oh my gosh… delicious fresh food mixed in unique and interesting dishes. LOVED my breakfast sandwich on fresh biscuit, side of roasted potatoes, barley porridge and fresh squeezed carrot, apple, ginger juice. Hubby loved lamb ragu and egg. Only downside was the long wait time after our food was ordered. So don’t come hangry, as I did. Atmosphere is big and open with lots of space to move and explore. Communal table as well as some individual tables. Perfect amount of white noise. A bit of cold atmosphere though so dress in layers. Street parking is a breeze. We’ll definitely be back!

All right, I really liked being here. Brunch, as a concept, is intrinsically welcoming. So the chances of you hating yourself for going here are pretty much zero. That being said, if you are looking for brunch that transcends brunch, this is not the spot. My «deluxe sandwich» was good, but it was definitely dominated by the crumbling buttermilk biscuit; none of the other ingredients had a say in what the overarching flavor would be. It was yummy though and so was Potato + Sprout. The fruit was a nice touch. It was nice to be there, the cider was just cider. Straight local. The presentation was good, they’re trying.

This place was excellent and unique! My dish was fabulous. The reason for the 4 stars vs 5 stars is due to the service. Maybe we looked like we’d been before… but we didn’t know a few things: 1) you went up to the counter to pour your own water 2) coffee took a half hour to make 3) you just go up to the counter when ready to pay to get your bill I had to get up 3 times to ask questions. If they had been explained ahead of time, I would have been fine with it.

I was finally able to stop in to Trinosophes this weekend for the Detroit Art Book fair and was very happy I did. Trinosophes is a wonderful open space with lots of natural lighting and a relaxed atmosphere. I love that they serve pour over coffee, handmade meticulously. I can’t wait to come back and try their food items and see bands perform.

Great space, great people, great food/coffee. My friend and I stopped in here after a local couple recommended it. I’m not familiar with the space, but it seemed to be an open gallery where they hold shows and exhibits, love the concept. The barista was super sweet and took the time to tell us of some cool things to check out in the area. Also, do your self a favor and indulge in a donut!

Quite the urban gem. Located right off the Eastern Market, they offer excellent coffee, lovely service and great brunch. Your go-to option if you want something healthy, climatic and reasonably priced. Wonderful balance between cheap, casual and great quality.

What a lovely coffee shop, art gallery, and music venue, wrapped into 1 huge, yet hidden location! In Eastern Market, this treasure offers tea, coffee, light snacks and brunch. I tried the salmon, and my friend had the eggs. Both dishes were not large, but high-quality and filling. The vanilla lavender cake was out of this world — not too sweet, with a beautiful lemony icing. The staff were attentive, the space is super large and chill, and it’s a wonderful place to grab a coffee and get some work done. Check out their website, or talk to a barista about what’s happening at Trinosophes next — there is always something fun going on!

Great shows, coffee, and my #1 spot for brunch in Detroit. It’s also where I go mid-week when I have a long to-do list and need a place with strong coffee, good food, and background music, but not too much distracting noise. Trinosophes is always the answer!

I met up with a friend in the Eastern Market, at which time we both decided we were hungry. She insisted we check out her favorite brunch spot TRINOSOPHES. Of course I obliged and we were on our way. The location was great being off of a big street like Gratiot. The scene is very hipster with questionable choices in background music. The set was very bare of décor but that didn’t bother me because I was there to eat! Anyways, my friend and I decided to split the French Toast(proclaimed best my friend ever tasted) and the fingerlings w/corned beef. The toast WASNOT the best I’ve ever tasted… not really even in the top 5 but it was good. Onto the fingerlings which were less than lukewarm, and came with the sight of H A I R on a forkful 2 seconds from being lodged in my mouth! This highly disappointed me. They comped the fingerlings, but nobody came to apologize from the back. I think a chef or manager should always apologize in such instances, but that’s not everyone’s practice obviously. I will not be returning.

Who doesn’t love an establishment that is simultaneously a music venue and a caffeine-and-food-slinging joint? The music venue brings in all those quirky musicians who founded and/or carry the torch for the used-to-be rockers and punk rockers and curmudgeonly pseudo-outcasts. The café is a daytime place for all of us grown-ass responsible people who have work while nursing newly-acquired hangovers after trying to hang on to our youth. The space is wide and bright without feeling empty. The tea, although supporting local enterprises, is not my favorite. The coffee is solid(beans from Ugly Mug and other local roasters). The music is great for earning avant-garde or obscure scene points but not the best for concentration/reading. So you may wanna bring your earbuds. The food is simple and hearty. The clientele mostly keeps to itself but is friendly enough when you bump into each other. The servers are friendly enough but a little… serious? Stoic? Great for a short socializing moment or for hunkering down for 4 hours to put in some laptopping labor. Also next to the best street in Detroit, in my less than humble opinion. I.e., entering through the back is highly recommended. And the name. Enough to make a lady swoon in her knickers. Alchemy abound in this space. Come out and support it(and get on their mailing list).
