Popped in for a quick drink before my flight. It’s a real casual sports bar to pass time while waiting, and the prices aren’t outrageous like most airport establishments. It was easy to grab a spot, and the staff was quick which is crucial when you are on a strict time schedule. I’ll be here next time I come through the Detroit airport.

Good service and quality bar food. Had the fish and chips and they were tasty. The waffle fries are really good. Drink prices are decent for an airport… PBR16 ounce cans for $ 4.75. Bloody Mary’s were pretty bland though or it would be 5 stars. Not crowded and easy in and out as the food comes out quick!

Great food, especially breakfast and hot dogs. Really enjoyed it. Great service and food comes fast. Will be back.

Decided to go to this place to have dinner before I go to Delta lounge, which doesn’t offer much food and I still have 2 hours to kill until my plane to LAX takes off. The service here is surprisingly good, staff is friendly and fast. I ordered a Californian wrap with fries and a Corona and I got the beer immediately and the food came a few minutes later. They are actually busy, it’s not that I’m the only one here The wrap is good, the fries are tasty and not fat at all, really crispy. The beer is cold, what else do you want? This place exceeded my expectation

Dropped in for a quick bite of breakfast before my flight. The restaurants in the center point were crowded with long lines as expected, so the open seating here was a welcome sight. Service was quick and pleasant. The eggs over easy were just right, along with the rest of the meal. No complaints from me.

Horrible food and service. Waiter was unpleasant and not accommodating. We asked to change the channel to a specific game on a tv no one was watching and they claimed they were too busy(they were not). Chicken tenders were frozen and not fresh, worse than something from a sports arena. The spicy fried chicken wings also tasted like they were frozen. Waiter slaps bill on the table with no thanks or anything.

As airport bars go, this is a friendly, affordable place. There is an excellent selection of draught beers, over 24 on tap and regularly changing, showcasing many from local breweries. The food is average, nothing fantastic, but tasty nonetheless and will certainly fill a hole inbetween flights. Service is friendly and efficient. They cater to the fact that some folk don’t have a lot of time to wait before getting their next flight. There are a number of TVs showing various sports channels, so you have a good chance of keeping up with the latest going ons in whichever sport you follow.

Very short visit. My wife and I had a layover and decided to leave Gordon Biersch Bar early to hit two places before our flight, we should have stayed at Gordon Biersch Bar. We only ordered fries at Slapshots while we perused the drink menu. The server didn’t ask how our food was, we had to borrow condiments from another customer, and our bill came out before the food. Needless to say we didn’t order a drink, and though I’d typically tip 100 to 200% for a small order like this… let’s just say the tip was adequate for the service.

Ordered a tuna melt. I could make it better for the kids I don’t have. It was two slices of grilled bread, slightly melted cheese and a copious amount of COLD tuna salad. Too much mayo. You had one job.

I stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed! Service was kind and quick. I appreciated the beer selection. 24 beers on tap. Mostly Michigan local. I love that! I ordered the Hani special — like a chicken wrap — but well executed. The waffle fries are delicious and they don’t I reserve on portions.

Very fast and efficient service. From siting down to food in front on me was less than 8 minutes. The wrap I ordered was good and the server Catherine was excellent.

This is a no-frills airport eatery with reasonable prices and decent food. The breakfast special(two eggs any style, choice of meat, hashbrowns, and toast) is priced at only $ 5.99 and is about what you’d expect from any greasy spoon or diner. Definitely a step up from fast food for about the same price.

So I understand that I shouldn’t have high expectations for airport food, but this one just stood out as pretty bad — at least what I ordered was. I had the Chicago dog(Detroit style) and the pig wings. Now on the menu, it says that«Detroit style» just means they don’t use the poppyseed bun — but I’ve just had a Chicago hot got yesterday and this was completely different. Not only was my pickle almost non existent, but they also out relish and used a really, REALLY bad quality hot dog. I would bite down, squeeze out all the meat in between the hot dog but the skin would still be in my bun dangling as if it was foreskin. If I was to try and chew it off, I’d probably look like a dog pulling on a chew toy. The pig wings were overcooked. When I tried to pierce it with my fork, it slid and rolled over instead. It was tough when I finally got a bite of it. Be warned, it only comes in 5 pieces. I do commend this restaurant for having a lot of options and an opened bar available, hence the 2-rather-than-1 star. If you’re not looking specifically for American food, I would suggest a different spot.

NB: beer /bar review only. Next chance I get, I’ll eat here. The beer list here is really good, and not just for an airport bar. The selection of craft beers is really good, with an emphasis on local Michigan brews(clearly indicated on the menu, which is really nice for folks like me who like to same the local fare). Also very nice is the notation on the menu of which pours are pints and which are 10 oz. Service is superb too. It’s just like being in a local tavern. The bartenders are so friendly and genuine that you don’t feel like you’re in the airport(don’t forget, though, you do have a plane to catch!). It’s really nice to see places like airport bars & hotels joining the craft beer movement, led by establishments like this. I’m already looking forward to my next DTW layover!

The food quality was just ok. The place was packed probably because you really don’t have very many choices. Service was ok, but no one looked like they wanted to be there. It’s probably true of many service jobs, but when it’s to the point it brings the mood of your table and establishment down, what a bummer. Burger was worth ordering. Hot spicy wings were not spicy at all. A little on the spicy side. Douse it in Tabasco and it’s all good though.

Sad salad that took ten minutes to put together. Lettuce tasted as if it was not washed. I think the only somewhat fresh item was the pita bread. Easy to go on a diet here lol

If you have time to kill before your flight, stop at Slapshotz Bar & Grill for an airport respite. Unlike its other location on A Concourse, this one gets crowded and has fewer booths, but I managed to find a decent seat at the bar. Service is no-nonsense and efficient, which is welcome in an airport. Slapshotz has a great list of local craft beer available, plus they make good, strong mixed drinks. Feeling colorful? Order the blue line martini — comprised of rum, blue curaçao, and pineapple juice. It’s tasty and packs a punch. Best of all, drinks are priced reasonably, so you can knock back a couple and still have cash in your wallet.

Sportsy sport sports. Looots of sports. Cheap food(comes from the adjacent fast food joint) and some decent runway views while you dine. I enjoyed a «Detroit style Chicago dog», basically a hot dog dragged through the garden ;) Not sure but I thought I detected a natural casing on that dog, had a little snap when I bit into it.

If you like good beer(i.e. local craft on tap) and a tasty burger that is clearly not a frozen disc, then belly up to the bar. 1. They have a separate beer menu that tells you both the kind of beer and where it’s from. +1 2. Bartenders give fast attentive friendly service and banter. +1 3. Burgers are not frozen discs. +1 4. Waffle fries!!! +1 As a bonus they have cheap hot dog options, and as you well know the words cheap and airport are rarely side by side. We stopped here twice and would again(despite the super corny name :-)

This is a breakfast only review. Good inexpensive breakfast. I had a bagel sandwich with hash brown potatoes. It was good and it’s a bar so you can get a Bloody Mary too!
