I don’t give a lot of 1’s but this was just baaaaaaad. «Almond chicken» — usually a diced chicken with vegetables and almonds, at Rice Bowl Express is heavily breaded and fried chicken with a sauce that really could only be described as bad brown gravy. Not an almond to be seen and certainly none were used in the making of the Nasty Gravy. The general Tso’s was too heavily breaded and just mediocre. I know it’s in a food court but it’s really bad even by food court standards. The Mac’N’Cheese next booth over is infinitely superior and I am sad I skipped them one meal to try this place.

The food isn’t bad here, especially when it’s just prepared around noon, don’t go out of your way to come here but definitely Worth a try if you’re in the renaissance Center

I got the gang Gai– it was pretty good, better than I thought. The portion was good– just need more rice. Other than that– service was fast and easy.

Big portions, plenty of rice. About $ 7 for lunch(1 item selection). This place is typically somewhere you would go if you worked in the RenCen, otherwise I can’t see someone coming here for the food. It is standard rice + meat/veggie/tofu option. If you want the more sit-down, non-cafeteria experience, go across the Skywalk(level 2) and you will find the Rice Bowl restaurant there. Otherwise this is just a counter you step up to, in order to get served a to-go container.

It is truly amazing to me that there are two horrible restaurants, both called Rice Bowl, across the street from each other(the other one is on the second floor of the Millender Center). I got the Kung Po chicken which appeared to be sauce served with a side of sauce as well as the stir fried vegetables. The veggies were heavy on the bean sprouts, carrots and celery with — get this! — canned mushrooms. Seriously? This is the US were we can get cheap out of season produce any day of the year. Shoot, we can even get fresh Chinese mushrooms at the eastern market. There is no reason to use canned white mushrooms in a veggie stir fry. Lets see, what else was bad? Um everything? Dirty floor, crunchy stale rice, gelatinous trays of mystery meat and sauce, some weird concoction called egg foo young which appeared to be an omelet covered by mystery gravy. Sorry, should I go on? I pity the unsuspecting customer who walks in here without knowing what he’s getting into.

I always give any restaurant or fast food place a second chance after an unsavory experience. If I could give this place negative stars, I would! I honestly think that it is the lowest grade Chinese food I have ever ate in my entire life. I love Chinese food and this place shames any place I’ve ate at. The breaded sauteed chicken tasted like cardboard and the rice was stale. This place never has a line and its obvious why. I ate here today and immediately felt like throwing up. Never coming here again… Oh and their fountain drinks do not taste like the respective drink… DISGUSTING!

Came here for lunch. Rice Bowl truly puts the«express» in its name. These folks are fast! HOWEVER, the food was super salty and filled with MSG. It was so difficult that I ate half and couldn’t finish the rest. For the next 15 – 30 minutes, I felt uneasy and this uneasiness was followed by 4 cups of water to release my body of the salt. Perhaps, they made the Chinese fast food for another audience, but it didn’t suit my taste. I had the General Tso Chicken, White Rite, and Curry& Veggies 2 item plate. I saw a lady in front of me who drenched her white rice in heavy«Chinese» gravy(what the heck is this?) and I looked away.
