I was so bummed when I got into town later than anticipated and missed out on the Detroit Eastern Market. We arrived right as the last few vendors were shutting down shop. Lucky for me, a couple people were still selling goods on the bridge that crosses over Fisher Freeway, so I made my way to the I-375 Service Road and pretty much fell into Pure Shea Store by accident. Pure Shea Store is located in a small shop across the freeway from Eastern Market. They had a grand opening banner and it looks very new. It’s not decorated and the inside is pretty sparse. However, they seem to have everything in stock that is listed on the website and I had no trouble finding a number of goodies within the ten minutes we spent there. Now, it’s no secret that I’m a soap fiend. I am not lacking in the soap department and probably didn’t really need to buy any more bars(I still have 5 from my trip to DC in 2010 and 6 from trip to Bulgaria in 2009). The Pure Shea Store soaps just smelled so good that I couldn’t help myself! It’s also no secret that I’m a sucker for a bargains. So, when the woman working there told me they are about $ 3 each or 4 for $ 10, it’s only natural that I went for the deal. She also convinced me that I needed a Cocoa Mango sugar scrub. It smells heavenly and works very well. It’s high quality and just as nice as what you’ll find when getting a pedicure. It’s a good investment because it comes in a large container that will last at least a month, it exfoliates the skin, and it leaves a luscious scent. I couldn’t stop smelling my hands after the demo. I highly recommend that you check them out if you’re looking for soaps, sugar scrubs, shampoos, conditioners, and other hair treatments. I purchased the Kush, Lemon Pumice, Sulfur & Salicylic Acid, and the Cocoa Mango Shea soaps because they smelled the nicest, in my opinion. But check them out for yourself because everything smelled really good! I’d also like to get some of the hair oil next time or a conditioning masque when my hair gets thicker again. It looks like they are quickly expanding. I can’t wait until they open in Chicago(scheduled for 2013). It’s such a better buy than going to overpriced Lush.
