I wish I would have known about this place when I was still blue collar. The people working were helpful and even knowledgable about what size coveralls to get for my Rosie the Riveter outfit. Holy carp, they had a TON of blue coveralls. Know where you are shopping and what a good deal you are getting. Try not to be a pain in the rear. I didn’t call ahead because I figured being a needy customer for work clothes 90% cheaper than retail is not optimal. I think they may adjust price based on customer attitude, which works in your favor if you are not a dipstick. Bring cash, especially for small purchases. Paid street parking right outside takes coins or Visa/MasterCard. I will come back here again for another pair of coveralls when I’m not pregnant anymore. Great place to get coveralls for painting. Well organized. Exactly what you need when you are buying work clothes and do not want to pay a ton of money.

When visiting Detroit’s Eastern Market this is a great place to check out. I’ve purchased in the past a very good quality work shirt named«Salvador.» This past weekend I brought home an awesome«Andy of Andy’s Quick Lube» shirt(my name is Andy). for only TWODOLLARS. Very well organized and clean. Stop by and check it out.

Used work clothes, and some new stuff. Yep, they have work clothes, coveralls, chef’s shirts, medical smocks, fire-proof work shirts and pants, safety vests & shirts. New stuff includes leather palm work gloves, socks of all varieties(including black– and white– diabetic socks) I picked up some green welder’s shirts for $ 5 a piece, a dozen pairs of work gloves and some work pants. Silverware is available in boxes opposite the cash register. I asked about the piggy banks and they still have ‘em, on shelves high overhead on the walls. Located on the corner, where Gratiot Avenue and the Fisher Freeway intersect, right next to Gratiot Central Market. Private parking for about 8 vehicles.

This here is The Workingman’s Store — they announce it above the front door an it ain’t no lie. This is the place to go for socks, underwear, long johns, skullies, pocket knives, coveralls, work shirts with patches, plates, utensils and all kinds of other household odds and ends. It’s a Sanford-esque Wonderland of bargains. One time I bought some beige coveralls from here so I could be Latka from Taxi for Halloween. And the patch on them just happened to read Kevin. How awesome is that? They also sell gigantic Technicolor piggy banks that they display outside in the warmer months. Those pigs make me happy.

I’ve stopped in acouple of times for some neat finds. If your looking for cheap second hand, but clean work clothes with name patches you came to the right place. TONS here. Get really lucky and score a find with your name AND your size. I’ve went by the alias of Pauline after purchasing a work shirt here with a Pauline patch. Also got the best bright red rabbits foot keychain back in like 02. Still have it and bet if I lost it I could go tomorrow and get another off the same display.

Need a work shirt? Have a dollar? Your needs can be met here at this jam packed outlet of used work wear. The merch is roughly grouped – overalls, jackets, white shirts by broad size categories(S, M, L, 3XL.) You’ll need to have a little patience and be willing to sort through the rest. There’s a very sweet guy usually at the register – quite a feat in a place that by design sells off the by-products of jobs gone by. You can find a custom embroidered shirt, or pick an alias.
