Where do I start? Well, I went there for a birthday party. The servers were nice. They had a free buffet that was only available for an hour or two. The buffet was cheese pizza sticks and salad which was basically lettuce with salad dressing. It didn’t feel the need to partake in their buffet. The music was decent. I enjoyed the throwbacks to Michael Jackson, Luther(Lutha) and Debarge. But then the not so chill people started coming through. Long story short, an argument broke out between two groups. Security was NOT efficient! Instead of escorting the loud, drunk belligerents out, they tried to calm the situation. HUGE mistake. People in the two groups were screaming, pulling, pushing, and falling all over the place. Meanwhile, the DJ didn’t miss a beat and the other patrons just kept grooving on like it was the norm at this place! I’m from out of town, so THEFIRST thing I do is look for the Exit signs! After about 20 minutes of security trying to intervene, they finally got all parties to leave. And I lived to tell the story. On a serious note, I didn’t feel my life was in danger because they did a security check on patrons before entering. Anyhow, what a night!

Okay, so I had my birthday party here on Saturday 10⁄3. I booked the booth in the Hollywood room. The booth was great and lots of sitting space. I Had the one with a dance pole. I was disappointed with the music. So when I booked the booth I was told the music would be for older crowd over 35 – 40 yrs of age. So I expected Detroit style 92.3 music to be playing. This was not the case. The music was more current and lots of rap. There was also a lot of hustle music being played too(everyone doesn’t know all the hustles). Now there are other rooms with different music playing, so I did visit other rooms. It was a hit or miss every time. Another downside to this party of mine was I was supposed to get a server to serve my bottle service, and check on my guest, and give me plates and silverware for my cake. Every time I needed something, I had to go to the bar and ask for it. Not once during the night did a server come to our booth. The lady that booked for me was very apologetic. Overall, my guest made it a good time for me. I wouldn’t book a party here again. Next time I go to just party, I’m definitely going on Friday night(better music). They broadcast live from Niki’s on 92.3

Visiting Detroit for the first time a group of us, age 23/24, went to check Nikis out. Overall, we enjoyed it. Went on a Friday night around midnight $ 10 cover, no line. Well drinks were around $ 7(expensive for cheap liquor compared to where I’m from). The music was good, hip hop/rap/r&b radio hits even some throwbacks. Definitely dancing the whole night. No drama or issues. Most people did look older though, 30+ Would go again. Con: The DJ switched the song too fast. It would maybe play for one verse and some of the chorus then it was on to the next one. We also only went to one of the 5 rooms.

Niki’s is probably the most long standing club/lounge in downtown Detroit. A lot of the other clubs seem to open and close, change management, change names, etc. But Niki’s has been constant. They’re known for being a great spot to celebrate birthdays — I’ve never celebrated mine here, but I’ve been here for others. It’s pretty easy to reserve a big booth for a group, and they’ll hook you up with bottles and food if you need. The food is good, as it’s all brought from Niki’s Pizza downstairs. The menu up here in the club is obviously a lot more pared down than the restaurant menu, but it’s all the same quality. I’m not much of a club person so a place like this isn’t really my territory anyway. But what I do really like, whenever I’ve been here, is it’s HUGE with multiple rooms that usually feature different music in each. So if you wanna be in the room w the packed crowd dancing their asses off, you can do that. If you wanna be in a room that’s a little more laid back, you can do that too. Expect a cover, mandatory coat check, and a dress code that they’re serious about.(Once came here with a party bus of 15, and they were going to deny ALL of us entrance because one dude in our group was wearing gym shoes. After some debate and a talk w a manager, we got in. But it was an issue for sure.) Also expect to get patted down and purse checked upon entrance, as well as climbing an old flight of stairs to get up to the club(watch those heels ladies). If you want a fun night of getting dressed to impress, dancing, and scoring some phone numbers, Niki’s is your spot.

While the reviews on this spot are accurate(huge space, old school music), I guess I’ve really outgrown my hometown. I’m not used to going to a spot where the music is pumped in live via radio??? I wasn’t happy to see nearly every place to sit had a Reserved sign on it. Granted, it was the night after Christmas and it was a slow night for them, I’m sure, the place was not full. And the last thing I’ll say on this: while I did get to dance and make the most of my night, I’m seriously shocked that I hardly saw any couples dancing because everyone is stuck in line dance mode!!! That’s fine if that’s your thing, it has just never been the thing for this free spirited guy.

Ok so tell me why this was the only club we went to in Detroit. I am cheap and 10 s the max I am paying to go to a club and I am not getting there till 12:30 at the earliest. Maybe I’m different but Niki’s had just what I wanted. All the music different rooms, lots of good looking people having a good time, no violence just pure fun, music and dancing. Drinks are cheap and strong(thats real important) and check this yall… if you do like to come club early the have a buffet… RIGHT food… lol I probably wont ever make it in time but its a good idea for those who will. PLUS the restaurant next door stays open late so if you get the munchies… we all do right… get a good pita sandwich or pizza its all good. Drinks in the restaurant too if you need that last bit to get you there. All in all I hope I can find a good spot like this in Cali… but will definitely be there next time I am in the D.

Staff is very good. Portion control is insulting, when the ham on the antipasto salad is so miniscule you can’t sprear it with a fork and your date says«I found a sliver of chicken» on the Mediterranean Pizza.

Niki’s is a traditional lounge in Detroit. What sets them apart is the different rooms and music. You have 3 rooms and bars in each to serve you. You may have hip hop in one room and r&b in another. They have different radio stations that host club nights from old school to new school. I have attended a couple of pamper parties(shopping, free food, and music) there and enjoyed the atmosphere. Expect to climb some stairs because the lounge is above Niki’s Pizza.

At the end of all my birthday activities, this is where it ended. Decided to come here last Saturday for a night of fun with friends and family. Bought a booth here for about $ 70(seated 6 – 8 people and had 2 – 2 person tables). This places is Hugh(3 to 4 different rooms), cover is free before 10, $ 5 from 10 – 12, $ 10 beyond, with coat check costing $ 3. The music and crowd here is great, and the drinks are high but very strong and they also have a picture booth to take pics all night along. Overall i do highly recommend this place for birthdays or just for a night out(and for the fellas, leave your girls at home, because it is a lot of stars in the building).

This place was horrible. We went there for a college date party and they didn’t card anyone, then yelled at us for being minors, even though we were all 21 anyway. Then they assigned us a floor out of their 3 floors but never told us so we were dancing on the 2nd floor and the bouncer came and grabbed us by the necks to get out. I am a 21 year old female and as I was walking out I was grabbed by the throat, which is never okay! We left and called and complained, and they accused us of doing ridiculous things so we threatened a law suit. It was unreasonable and a horrible time. Do not go here!

Niki’s is the best. I found this place from listening to 107.5 which is the best radio station in Detroit. They were always telling their listeners to celebrate their birthday there so I naturally obliged. We got a table for old school Saturday and it was awesome. They played the best old school hip hop jams. We danced all night. We got a free buffet. There are several rooms with different DJs in each room and they have funny airbrushed backgrounds that you can get your picture taken JUSTLIKEPROM(kind of). Plus, if you’re hungry after, Niki’s restaurant is right downstairs serving up some of the best pizza and greek salad in the city. The crowd is grown & sexy. I’m going back there again tonight for Hustle lessons with Mason. My dream vacation home is an apartment above Niki’s. Everything I’ve said in this review is true.
